So this sugestion is pretty much to create some sort of sortability within the contacts page. enkindle had a similar thread: http://mafiareturns.com/comm/thread/307435#292911 that detailed out a few of the things that might be requested.

I don't know if anything else needs to be put in, but does anyone have any thoughts? I also wouldn't mind adding that I made a suggestion concerning adding a save to CSV option http://mafiareturns.com/comm/thread/319224#39771528 which might also be a useful addition to the contacts page. 

Since this one has already been pushed through and the other already has sponsors, I'd rather not combine the two.

Thoughts on this suggestion? I wouldn't mind seeing them in "birthdate" order as it used to be. I'm not sure I'm keen on having several different sorting options.

Fair enough. I would like to have the sorting options... might not use them all the time, but it can be useful. 

If they aren't going to be used all the time why add them? I don't really get what "sorting" needs to be done. Why are we trying to complicate a feature?

Because the other sorting options were what were in the original suggestion and I think it'd be easier to have it put in now than to have to come back later to do it.  It is useful for the obits, and I imagine it can't be that much coding.

I can understand in start date, as that's the way it used to be, but why would they need sorted in rank or last active? Last active is what the 60 second list is for no?

Why not put it all on one screen and save a brother a click? It's just a way of organizing people. Sort by crew could be cool. etc. Rank isn't so important to me.

Save what click? It would take you more clicks to go to your contact page to view them in the same order as on the 60 second list, than it would to just look at the 60 second list. And sorting by crew??.... How would you even sort them by crew? Alphabetically by family name? I don't even get that, this is getting ridiculously complicated.

There's always been discussion of adding a little more depth to the contacts page (crew, start date, city, etc)

The only way I can describe this to you cassi:

Go to the Obits. Notice how you can click on each criteria and sort by those fields? That's what (I think) Spike wants for contact lists. Also a CSV export would be delightful, and easy to code if i'm not mistaken :)

I understand the sorting of obits... But in contacts now it only includes their name... So now you want to add, name, rank and family, just so you can sort them different ways? I don't understand why that is necessary. But anyways... Can we try to reach some sort of agreement so we can vote? We have 14 days left to finish everything up.

Well, what do other people think should be in there? If it's just gonna be you and me breaking it down... 

I don't think it'll be all that productive. So, let's figure this thing out, and put it to vote. This is one of the easier ones really. 

I agree with spike on this debate. This is a very black and white subject in my opinion. Very easy to put a vote to it without much discussion.
