I think enough has been said about this, and similar stat reveal type things. No reason to lose the mystery, and as Cassi pointed out... it takes away from the roleplay aspect. It's fun to see people claim to have cannons... when they just have a little squirt gun. |

'No reason to lose the mystery' and you said 'it takes away from the roleplay aspect' How would it though? This would not take anything from them. I'm thinking like you have all these different classes for example: 'Sniper' can shoot from far away maybe a district or two away and has long reload times.(this would go in well with the new districts.) Bomb Expert is another one were he could take out two people at the same time but had to be close to them and would have even longer reload times. etc. But heres the thing you can still miss if you don't got enough kills just like it is now so instead of taking the mystery you would have even more because you don't know what the other guys 'classes' are or 'weapons' are. In terms of RP you can still do whatever you like.
I know that is a lot to take in there but you could take it in baby steps. No need to rush.
And as Pratster said 'will probably be the day a LOT of old school, experienced players decide to leave this place for good' maybe the odd few will, but I think it would attract a lot more people to this game. |

Its nice to know you are willing to wager a large part of the community on the very small possibility that this might attract brand spanking new ones Thomas. |

Jesus Christ Thomas, I just got here but even I don't want this to turn into Mafia Skyrim. It's good the way it is. |

'large part of the community' I don't know were you are getting that from cassi. I said the odd few will, that happens with big changes though anyways.
And to Padrino 'Mafia Skyrim' no just the normal mafia sir. |

I am getting that from the very small amount that have posted here that are vehemently against this. You assume an odd few, I have seen very dedicated old school players that have quit over lesser changes. More than an "odd few" would quit were this to be implemented. Also under no circumstance should one shot kill more than one person. That is directed at the suggestion of a bomb of some sort. |

'Also under no circumstance should one shot kill more than one person.' It is an idea, of course we would take or add stuff to make it better.
'More than an "odd few" would quit were this to be implemented.' I would like to see a few other peoples opinions before we jump to that cassi. |

Having played .org and now MR for 11 years I agree with cassi. The thing that keeps people coming back to MR is its uniqueness. Take away that uniqueness and you take away MRs USP. Yes you may attrack a few players in the short run, but I guarantee that the net loss of players will far outstrip the influx in short order. This is coming from experience of seeing other generic mafia games crash and burn, games with a larger user base than MR. |

Well this suggestion has certainly grown legs. I don't understand what the huge argument is here. Down the road? This could be plausible - or something very similar could be.
I see a lot of reaching going on here. Like for instance Raoul: First you say that using the fact it is being stated as being a gun limits your roleplay opportunities because people often roleplay as using lighting or whatever.. Then in the same breath you are stating that MR is known for being historically accurate and you would only be limited to a few different types of guns anyway? lol, really think people are arguing here more about principle than anything...
The way this suggestion was bought about was that there would be different choices when it came to shooting and the way that you could shoot would be altered for that purpose... WE ALREADY HAVE THIS. The word 'different guns' just isn't USED.
Attack perk is a double action revolver (chance to have adrenaline) You upgrade to a shotgun when you are a professional hitter and can hit multiple bodyguards (wow looks like you hit two!) you have a tommygun if you have the bodyguard perk (10% chance for adrenaline) AND a professional level stat.
Don't get bogged down by labels people this suggestion really is just a name slapped on some different perks in my eyes.
I don't want to see bullet factories, player traded items, 10 million different guns, or any of the sort. But I think that people's paranoia about 'changing' this game has turned this into a frankenstein suggestion. I understand - you don't want to see this game turned in to the shit games that are out there. Nobody wants that. Izzy wouldn't let that happen, and neither would enkindle. Don't get ahead of yourselves please when looking at suggestions like this one. |

Whitey, my point is I'd rather be free to use whatever weapon I want for my character, than be limited to a set range of early 20th century firearms. They are only contradictory when you smoosh them into one point as you did. |

I don't think this is a case of different names slapped on perks at all. Are you saying that you would have to pay credits to maintain these guns, and that the guns would only give you a % chance of getting the bonus? If so, what's the fucking point? If it's already in the game, and nobody is complaining about it, why put a different name on it, and piss people off at the same time? There is literally no point for the extra coding time, as well as the extra user annoyance. I also don't think this change would necessarily bring a lot of new players to the game. If people don't like this game for whatever reason, this change is not going to make them want to play all of a sudden. However, on the other hand, the people that do like the game, are much more likely to stop playing because of this one change. Introducing this feature 'down the line' might be possible if the user base changes completely and the standard of users currently on the site drops by about 500%, but with the current users, this is not a change that would be welcome, or that should happen. I'm all for new features being bought in, the districts for example are a massive idea, and worked out well enough, a good idea. Gun stats and different guns is quite a big change, but isn't a good one. |

Just to add my two cents; I concur with overwhelming majority that such a change would see me log off and never return. I've been around MR and .org since 2003 and it would take something major to put me off of playing this game. So i'm very thankful that enkindle and Izzy haven't indicated any desire to make a change like this. |

I made a post similar to this before, I don't see different types of guns actually changeing this game to much, it's the skeleton of them game that we all appreciate, not the way things used to be years ago. |

It would actually. Many games have weapon upgrades, but only MR uses this system and if it abandons it, it will lose its uniqueness, as mentioned earlier. |

I think just think that this would go hand and hand with the districts. Without them districts wouldn't feel right. |

I just think* my bad.
Because so much time is being given to one part of the game and not the other, for example izzy said long down the road you will be able to buy a car to travel around districts/citys. If all that is gonna happen then what's the problem if we have different guns? |

How many times does it have to be written for you to understand the problem with that? More than once it has been mentioned that MR will be like other games and more than once it has been said that the change would disappoint many players. I applaud your persistence but I don't know why you're trying because it's obvious that no-one wants the idea implemented. |
