This suggestion would bring the feature of granting anonymous posts to the OOC (and, possibly Outside/Suggestions) forum.

As stipulated by the administrators, these would come with the following measures to prevent abuse:

- All anonymous posts would have a Report link which alerts Helpdesk/Admins.
- Abuse of anonymous posts would have STRONG punishments.
-- There would be a huge warning when posting anonymously about this.
-- Admin wack on your first offense.
-- Your name would be revealed.
- Strong requirements to even capable of posting anonymously to make it very difficult to use a dupe account to use it.
-- Minimum character age of at least two weeks.
-- Minimum time played on the account. Probably at least 24 hours played.
- OOC Forum only.


To add to this, I think it'd be a good idea to explore adding some kind of feature to automatically remove the content if it receives several report links filed against it.

Obviously, much like the report feature that we already have on our profile pictures, it would be strictly enforced and have the appropriate rules about false flagging legitimate posts and would serve only to quickly remove malicious content.

I like the idea of auto-removal after a certain number of reports.

Maybe it could also even have an obscenity filter? I know it sounds childish but most really offensive posts will be riddled with curses so it could be a valid deterrent. 

I thought the original thread was to do with only the News and Announcements forum?

I agree that the other forums could maybe be added in, I just wanted to make sure that was included as well.

I think it would be useful in suggestions and New & Announcements...

Maybe OOC too? Not sure if that's really necessary...

what is to stop someone getting a whole family to make a report to reveal the name?

I don't like the burden on the staff. 

As long as the staff are content with handling that side then I really so no reason not to put this through.

One thing that does puzzle me though. As a member of the PC that sponsored this suggestion has now withdrawn that sponsorship, does this effect idea? Or does the fact its made it to the PC Forum mean it remains here for our discussion and vote?

Can we get a clarification here. People are suggesting the use of this in multiple forums. You're saying you and Izzy will only implement it in OOC. Does that mean any out of character forum, such as help, OOC, suggestions... Or do you mean the Out of Character forum specifically?

Thank you enkindle. That actually makes me feel a lot better perchance this is passed. 

I think given the reservations many have had, its entirely understandable that it should be done as a trial in only one area, so although I feel its something that could be used in all non Character forums, I'm glad its to be limited to just OOC for the time being (if it passes, that is).

What are the reservations that people have bearing in mind that this feature is likely to have a considerable level of oversight built in to it.
