Report Post Tip

The early concept of this idea was that the shooter would receive the cash on hand of the victim, or a percentage of this.

Through much discussion the common consensus was that a set percentage of the cash on hand would be received, and would also be a random event and would also only happen with pvp attacks, thus would not be available when shooting at MIA/RIA/NPCs, though personally thats a moot point as they have so little, if any, cash that it has no real impact anyway.

That my friends is the basic basis of the idea. There is still a great deal to be discussed here to come to some form of actual complete workable idea that the majority feel is beneficial to the game.

There are some concerns that such a cash flow allows for an increase in cash in the game which would result in a requirement to offset this from other areas. I personally would prefer to have this idea structured so that all parties are happy enough that no further changes are required, or the very least that hopefully we can get agreement with Squishy and Co that the change if voted through is given a trial period to see if there is any major impact that would be cause for concern on the economy side of things.

So, does anyone have any views on this idea that they would like to share?

Report Post Tip

Well it's not bringing cash flow into the game it's just changing hand's, in any case most people don't carry a lot on hand in case they get mugged after a pick pocket. Also during a war most people send off their cash to someone who has recently died and can't be killed.

I think this is a great idea, but maybe it could be optional where you get the option to go through their pockets after you get the success and you get any cash/drugs they had on them but if you choose to there is a risk of getting caught and 20 minute sentence with and extra 8 jail guards on top of normal.

Report Post Tip

I think an Optional idea there is good Flash, there should indeed also be risks involved for the person to stop and search. Perhaps though a tick box on the wack screen prior to firing off your shot?

Report Post Tip

A check box on the wack screen sounds like a good addition. As well as the risk for doing so. I'd say a 20 minute sentence and an additional 10 guards would be awesome.

Can't really say anything else about this.

Report Post Tip

I feel like it should be random as well, not guaranteed you get to search every time.

Report Post Tip

I agree Cassi, although you will always have the search box for that "chance", it shouldn't be a formality that you'd get to search each body.

Report Post Tip

I don't like the idea. However, perhaps if it's optional etc, a chance of messing up attack timers or flight timers could be interesting if the person fails.

Report Post Tip

I think 20 mins jail with 10 extra guards is enough without affecting timers.

Perhaps it could be restricted to actual player accounts so it isn't bringing money into the game from RIA's, NPC's and MIA's. With player kills being a rarity I don't think it would need to be random.

Report Post Tip

Why would you need to mess with the attack timers? You already will be on an hour long shot block??

As Flash-Fire said I think 20 mins in jail and the extra guards would be an idea.

As for the cashflow into the game, then why not link it and reduce the money that can be grave robbed from that person as well :-)

Report Post Tip

I think that's a great idea, if they are robbed when they are killed, then the amount that can be graverobbed is reduced.

Also Flash, this is already restricted to real accounts, but think of how many real accounts die in a war, that's why I think it should still be randomized. Because if people die in a war and all those accounts can and are robbed after death, that's a bit high.

Report Post Tip

SO, how much cash are we actually talking here? I think that's something that needs to be decided on.

Report Post Tip

Yes, that way we can discuss in what ways we're willing to be financially penalized as hitters in order to balance out the amount that won't be leaving the game via deaths...

Report Post Tip

This change shouldn't require any financial penalty for hitters, Whitey.

Report Post Tip

ny ideas on where else in the game we can offset the money from? Where we offset it from has to specifically target the wackers so that non-wackers are not subsidizing the wackers.

We can increase the cost to use the hitlist, remove the 300k subsidy for random MIAs, increase wackback jail and set it to lose drugs on jailing, increase cost to spawn MIAs and BG Location.

These are just some of the fair ways to offset the cost to those that benefit from it - unfortunately, they all kind of suck.

Any options that we add in that put money into the game that wasn't there originally, we need to offset it (and hopefully by those who benefit from it, and not the ones who dont)

There should be no reason for penalties... Especially when we don't even have ideas for amounts yet. I think talking penalties before it's even put in to place is a bit of a harsh reaction to be honest.

Report Post Tip

Well then, how much? It's that simple before moving forward with any of this suggestion.

Report Post Tip

Several amounts were discussed in the thread. I would suggest anywhere 2.5 - 5% with maybe something like a 50/50 chance of triggering it and the options of the jail as mentioned. Whitey, Countdown also brought up fair points of increases we have already seen in the game, thus really not making it necessary to offset this.

Report Post Tip

Well with the increased costs of buying BG's now wackers need a new source of income, also this isn't bringing any new money into the game so there is no reason to offset it. That said if Izzy is going to make more changes to reduce income then I'll vote against this.

Cassi most people that die in a war don't carry all their cash on hand, most have it stashed away with a thug or still banked. Also how many people will be taking the risk to search a body if it means they could go to jail and not get a pro because of it.

Report Post Tip

who cares about 2-.5-5%? Seriously... Seems like a waste of time, money, etc. People want more money from this, and that's not gonna happen. and for 2.5%? that's not even a 3rd of what I pay in sales tax for a pack of gum.
