And the more money they want the more Izzy is going to take from them to offset it, so why even bother with this? Don't like what I offered, counter something then, instead of throwing out nastiness, thanks. You pay 25k for sales tax on gum? That's what you'd pull from someone with 1mil on hand. That's 5 times more than you get for a pp. I've given my thoughts, I would appreciate useful input from everyone else.

I don't think anyone is trying to be nasty. I'm just thinking that this isn't a good idea if we have to deal with offsetting it etc to make this a viable suggestion. Percentage wise, I don't think people would be happy if they got 25k from a kill. If I'm wrong and they're interested in that, then alright. However, personally, I don't think the change is worth it at a percentage like that. I don't think it would be worth it if we raised that percentage and had to deal with offsetting it.

{Wasn't being nasty. Was trying to make a point. It just seems like we need to either develop this more or drop it.}

And points have been made as to why there should be no reason to do any kind of offsetting. We cannot just drop it... It's already in the process. If we can't figure out terms that everyone agrees on, then I imagine a vote won't pass. However, to get to that point, we actually need discussion happening.

Report Post Tip

Do we need offsetting if it is joint into the amount that is available to be grave robbed.

Couldn't we stop grave robbing of accounts which have had their wallet hit when they got wacked in the first place!!!

I am also unconvinced in the effect it will have on the economy in the first place based on this only being available for active accounts.

The amount of accounts that die with masses of cash on hand is minimal at most. If a war occurs you are talking the first wave only where cash on hand will be substantial if at all. Most people don't carry that much cash on them any way since they bank up!!!

{Squishy is it possible for some redacted statistics for what sort of level of money we are looking at introducing back into the game}

Report Post Tip

I'm struggling to believe that the numbers will be high enough to require the cash to be offset.

I still think this idea is more simple than its being made out. There are number of skilled shooters on this PC board and I am yet to see anyone give a convincing argument to the fact that they often die with massive amounts of cash on hand.

Of all the times i've died in wars, even as a CL, my Cash is always in my bank. With people PPing and on occassion Mugging, the likelihood that someone is carrying crazy amounts of cash around is very slim. As we've already said on this, the feature will only be available on shooting PvP, not when shooting NPCs/MIAs/RIAs so I really find no reason to need this offset.

There has already been examples of the fact that prices have increased in other areas already, so if there are cash flow concerns then I would have thought this feature would actually level things out a little.

So what could we agree upon as a percentage? I definitely do not think anything higher than 10% in case someone is caught with private flight money on hand. As far as I know, the suggestion was not made as a get rich quick scheme so I assume as long as they are getting more for a pickpocket, they will be happy.

Report Post Tip

I dont think 10% is too high, provided it has a cap. I think even 250k is a big cap, but its a figure id be happy enough to have.

It makes the risk worth it, which given the potential measures i.e. jail time etc, it should be worth it at some level or wouldn't be used, but at the same time leaves it at a manageable level.

People can easily win this sort of cash in the casinos and its virtually the same scenario, your taking money from one player to the next. Its not new money, its another players money.

Report Post Tip

This suggestion doesn't add revenue to the game, it makes wars very slightly less damaging. I don't think there should be a limit on someone's stupidity or carelessness for keeping all of their money on hand.

Some perspective - 10% of even 100 million or 200 million (which virtually no one will carry) held by one account or 200 users holding a million is still very much chump change in the grand scheme of things when you take the economy as a whole.

Report Post Tip

No other thoughts on a percentage?

Report Post Tip

I guess not Cassi. This was a rough suggestion.

<3 Cassi (I would post that on every thread, but yeah. :P)
