As somewhat of an adult...seeing how I don't "play" with the cars, if I were to start looking to collect them, I'd have to go with the Hot Wheels. They seem to have a higher value.

One HotWheels car sold at auction for $72,000(some VW car with a surfboard sticking out the back window). As opposed to the highest valued car of Matchbox which is about $1500.

I don't play with them either, and im still gonna say hot wheels is epically going to kick matchbox's ass
Report Post Tip
Well I stopped playing with them a couple weeks ago and I can tell you Hot Wheels!!! Tougher and cooler cars.

Always Matchbox. Hot wheels just isn’t the same.

Neither! Micro Machines! The old ps games were awesome!

If I had to choose, I would say Hot Wheels... Both for monetary value and for the weirdly fun "racing" game they had on PC... Even if you didn't do much to keep the car on the track.

But I have to agree with JackMezzo here. Micro Machines were pretty awesome!

The Micro Machine game on the Mega Drive I remember playing for years. Great fun.

old matchbox cars used to be amazing.  They had real classic cars that you could get tiny replicas of.  hot wheels just never could match up against the classics.

I tend towards hot wheels, but then that could be nostalgia talking. I used to have so many I'd lay them out and make a car lot. Granted it usually turned into a demolition derby. To me the hot wheels always seemed to be a better made car that held up to more abuse and so was more fun for me. As I got older the hot wheels had some really interesting designs that were more out of the box in terms of creativity.

I would have to say Hotwheels!  But I'll be honest, I don't know too much about Matchbox...  So who knows? :)
