It depends what you mean. Right now, Family Guy is ridiculously better than The Simpsons, which has been declining for over a decade. But if you are comparing the two shows overall, I say BLASPHEMY. NOTHING comes close to seasons 4 through 9 for The Simpsons. And I love Family Guy, I think it's great, and consistently hilarious. But it's also limited; The Simpsons in its prime could do anything, and be enjoyed by an intelligent and well read person as well as an 8 year old, simultaneously, for completely different reasons. It's a shell of its former self, but the fact that it's been around since the 80's is ridiculous. I highly doubt Family Guy will be running in 2020. Viva la Simpsons! |

At it's best, the simpsons was as surreal as it was el oh el funny. Clever homages to classic film and literature as well as nudge-in-the-ribs pokes at pop culture. Classic.
