family guy is classic but simpsons has the edge so many difrent characters that are hilarious and family guy is starting to feel a bit jaded now and the same jokes all the time....the simpsons is timeless its still going strong after all theese years altho i felt the movie was a let down |

Ugg, neither. Simpsons hasn't been funny in a decade and Family Guy is just stupid. It's the same joke in every episode. It was funny for a couple of episodes but now it just blows.

I agree with Gatsby, Family guy now kicks ass and simpsons are kinda meh not funny. But back in the first 9 seasons, the episodes were so clever and well though out, that any audience could find humour in them. The writers also used a bit more intelligent jokes |

I really hate to say this, and it's scary but very true. Family Guy is the same as the simpsons except for different characters. They broke it down one night on comedy central or something and showed episodes from the simpsons and from family guy, both were the same just different people I.e. homer vs. peter. it's probably on youtube.com somewhere. |

I'd disagree, AfterShock.
The whole "Lout who is fat/slobbish husband and comparatively more attractive wife" thing is a staple of television. It's everywhere. If there's a comedy about a family, it's a decent bet that the husband is an unpolished brute/fatso and the mother is attractive. Obviously, this is not nearly universal, but the point is that it's a precedent that goes way beyond Family Guy/Simpsons.
There's also a great two part South Park that points out my major issues with Family Guy in a much more enjoyable fashion than me explaining. I highly recommend watching at South Park Studios. Cartoon Wars I and II. Great stuff. |
