| Duelling: An Experiment | Started by: -Kuku on Feb 01, '14 21:39 |

My friends, I believe that it is time for change. There are enough leaders in this thing to constitute an effective vehicle to driver change. And a bit of change and interest is what's needed on these Shores. There are two things that this thing never has a shortage of: Made Men and Made Men with a thirst for a chance to get a bold suit And we have a lot of empty districts. And we have the facility to duel. Friends, a duel to the top would grip this thing. A duel, with the ultimate prize of a district, would invigorate this thing, would get IRC Avenue lit up and would, most likely, see a fair few wagers change hands. Picture it - 16 guys to start, randomly drawn, pitted against each other, until, like Highlander, just one remains. And then, the fun really starts... he has to start from scratch. IS IT TIME FOR AN EXPERIMENT USING DUELLING? |

Goten looks at KuKu in utter confusion.
There are a lot of districts sitting empty? I'm not sure you are correct... |

I honestly think this is a good idea, that's pretty much all I got to say here. |

As a concept, I actually quite like this. It could be quite interesting in terms of potential betting on favorites to win the district, the amount of discussion and excitement that such an experiment may cause, the idea of potentially giving new people a chance, but making them work for it, whilst still having a touch of luck come into it.. it's an interesting idea. I'll be honest, it most certainly sounds a more interesting and sensible concept than the Staten Island and Brooklyn contests did, at least to these ears. But, I'm not sure this is the time. There aren't all that many districts left open and it'll be interesting to see what the GFC has lined up for them. But it's possibly an interesting concept in the future. A sudden thought coming into her head, she mutters May the odds be ever in your favor. and melts away. |

As Anna has said, it is an interesting concept, that could potentially work if there was the room and thee right people willing to participate.
Also coming out into the streets and calling a crew leader a name is probably not going to get your idea noticed, or make people want to continue to speak with you. Its just so very childish. People will oppose your idea, and you should give them reasons for why it is good, not resort to insults. |

An interesting idea Kuku, but I don't think anyone will participate. |

I'm sure with the right support, it would take off. When I'm talking on the Streets, I don't often notice the rank or status of those that interject - I just respond as I would naturally. |

It's 'an', not 'and'. Example: Kuku, you're an Idiot. |

I like this very much but there are only 2 open districts.. I think this would be a good thing to get the community active and get them throwing money around! |

Sorry, it's just amazing how the almighty sweet God prophet of the streets can't even talk or write.... At all. And he's normally only spilling a few lines of bullshit. Do us all a favor, proof read or think out what you're going to say. So when you show up to the streets with your one to two liners, they're at least somewhat in the grammar dome as the rest of the world. |

Mako, you truly are and idiot. For those particularly deserving of being called an idiot, I contend that they are and idiots. This is standard Kuku fare. In not recognising it, you have, ironically, confirmed that you are, indeed, and idiot. |

Can I just ask why is everyone arguing over who is an idiot? I think it is extremely childish of you all and makes you all look like idiots! So why taint this thread with your out of character bullshit? Take it to a private message or Irc. |

Girls, girls. You're both pretty.
Can we stop with the pedantic bullshit and discuss the idea at hand? Frankly, right now, there are too few districts open for this to make sense. However, I do think it's an interesting idea to look at for the future instead of the same old same old popularity contests to see who gets auth in an open district. It adds an interesting wrinkle, and right now, that's what this place needs. |

Ahhhh okay, I get it now. So, you're an idiot if you don't agree with Kuku, and if you call him illiterate. Glad to know that you decide who might be an idiot and who might not be. Clearly... Do you even grammar, bro? And no, I won't stop to discuss the topic at hand, because there isn't one. It's just a bunch of 'what ifs' and 'that would be neat'. There's a Godfather council, people. They make these decisions, not Kuku. Therefore, this debate/idea/whatthefuckever is void. Dead. Retarded. Any of the following will do. |

Mako, I think if you look further than where the idea itself came from, it's not actually a bad idea. And, I will point out that the late Godfather Cantona once called my mother out for calling the contests we've already had... well, for lack of a better term, stupid, without suggesting any viable alternatives. As somebody who has been particularly unimpressed with any of the previous options for contest areas - with the possible exception of the Las Vegas Project, which sounds as though it may have actually have been rather entertaining to watch - I think this actually is a viable alternative to discuss and consider for the future. I'm not saying it'll happen in our current environment, I'm not saying it'll happen any time soon, but the idea isn't actually a bad one and it's surely worth at least considering the idea for the future. |

That makes you, mako, and idiot. |

And if a Godfather had come to these streets and said "This is how we're going to deal with this open district. We're going to set up a dueling tournament that you can enter. Winner gets auth, losers die", would your reaction still be "This is retarded, this is stupid, you people are idiots"?
It seems as though your problem lies not with the idea, but with who proposed the idea. And, to me, refusing to even consider an idea because of who happened to propose that idea is what is truly "retarded". |
