Starcraft: Broodwars was always a good video game to play when I was younger. They came out with Starcraft II, a highly anticipated game. I waited 10 years for it to come out. I must say that I was not disappointed.

Final Fantasy all the time, Squaresoft who produce them did a hell of a job and always got many of us happy when playing those game around the world.....

Backyard Baseball was an amazing video game.

Best old games? GTA San Andreas, Saints Row 2, Max Payne 1&2, Pokemon for the GameBoy dynasty, 007 for N64 & most importantly Super Smash Bros.

As far as new games I'd go with COD Black Ops 1. That game probably made me miss out on a lot during that time frame lol

There's great games from every era/system. 

Really early PC I absolutely loved the game Sleuth.  
Atari, I played the hell out of Megamania and River Raid
NES Mario Bros all the way!  and Snake Rattle and Roll (don't judge) :P
SNES was Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana (Chrono Trigger is still one of my all time fav games)
Sega I loved Shining Force and Mutant League Football
N64 was all about the Zeldas
PS1 I played a lot of Test Drive
Game Cube I absolutely loved Windwaker and Lost Kingdoms
PS2 was all about those Survival horror games. Clock Tower 3, Haunting Ground, Fatal Frame, (Damn it if I cant find a copy of Rule of Rose now)
PS3 was where I found my love for the God of War series, buying a copy of GoW 2 on the cheap. (yes I had an original BWC 60G PS3.)
Wii/WiiU(yes they're the same system! :P)  I played the hell out of No More Heros, Mad World, and OMG Mario Freakin Kart.
On the Xbox 360 my games were Guitar Hero/Rock Band, and the Mass Effect series... ME was like video game drugs to me. loved it.
PS4 brought me my much beloved Persona 5 which I sunk insane amounts of hours into
Xbox one is the system the most of my friends have, so been enjoying things like Destiny, Overwatch, MineCraft and the like here.

Current go to game would be "League of legends" past time favorite would of been Diablo 2.

Oregon Trail, then Amazon Trail, and now Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Smite is a lot of fun. Pub G is also one of my favorites atm.

Donkey Kong, Gorf, Dig Dug, and Funhouse pinball. Banjo & Kazooie for N64. I don't play the newer games systems because I'm an old fart.
