People who can't be part of Cosa Nostra Started by: PostMan on Feb 01, '09 20:56
While standing around his favorite corner and making the girls get to work

PostMan steps up on the soapbox one more time

1. Are anyone with a close relative in the police.

This rule I am sure is self understanding

2. With a two-timing relative in the family.

This short rule is one I feel is broken the most here.

Two-timing to me, is those of us that take from other families the rules and plans of those we call friends. The way I live through this is a old stand by on the streets, Simply I keep my friends close and my enemies even closer. What other way is there to keep an eye on the enemy. Yes I have had many family memebers that were enemies (in the past) Ones that would blap out family sercets, undermining anything the family was trying to accomplish.

3. Anyone who behaves badly and doesn't hold to moral values.

Once again I bring up the standards of morals. YES I SAID MORALS Morals as a definition means: one who sticks to a set rule and follows it. Now that can be a high moral standard, Or I am a thief but I will not steal from another, or I am a memeber of a family and I will follow the family rules even to the death.

PostMan looks through the crowd and waves at a few friends.

Number one is perfect you fool! If you have an inside man then you'd know when they're going to try to do a take down so you'd know when to keep clear. Think man, think!
Report Post Tip
You're calling him a fool, but he is right. He did not make up these himself. They are part of the mafia tradition. Open mouth, insert foot.
Report Post Tip
Yes deep down the Cosa Nostra were ordinary people helping one another when there were no police availabe. We were the law and the helping hand of the neighborhood.
Report Post Tip
Our wonderful country was founded on principles, certain morals and conditions. They uphold their own rules, as does Cosa Nostra. It's not a chaotic thing, but a few precise and organized thing. We have our rules as does the outside world. It's a thing of honor - respect is a necessity. It's good to hold everyone in high regard, offering them the respect and decency that a close friend deserves, even if they are your enemy.
Report Post Tip
Yes sir well said Sal
Report Post Tip
So your saying we shouldn't have any ties to the police because we're mobsters? That's simply stupid. Every mob family has ties to the police, why? Glad you asked. Well for one, like I said; it let's them know when the police are after them so they know not to say move drugs or kill someone. Oh and if you have ties with the police then you can probably get them off your back. Dirty cops may be hated by other cops, but if they're good dirty cops they can benefit your family. So LeahDiva, shove it.
Report Post Tip
Where do you suggest I shove it, Mr Aftershock? One of those things Boss Giaquinto just mentioned was respect. It seems as if you never learned that important tenet of this thing of ours.

You are arguing with a ghost. None of us decided these principles. They have been around since our society was formed in the hills of Sicily. If you think keeping a safe distance from the police is a bad idea, go to the graveyard in Palermo and take it up with the 500 year old corpses.
Report Post Tip
Family comes first either way. Conflict of interest with your immediate family or your friends who are outsiders goes to the back burner anyways. It's not good to mix personal ties with business if you worried that they might collide.

But, Aftershock is right. Having contacts and connections with the local PD can save you a whole lot of trouble.
Report Post Tip
It can also cause alot of trouble, sir. When things get hot, you don't want to wonder if the person who has blood ties to the police is trustworthy. The disadvantages outweigh the possible benefits. This is why it was written as tenet so many years ago.
Report Post Tip
That's where personal matters conflict with business and your right Leah. Who knows what a mans going to do if they're put in that situation. Like I said, our business comes before everything. Ties yes - family ties, I'm not feeling it and neither are the zips around here, or those ginzos back home.
Report Post Tip
How can I have respect for someone who just told me to shove my foot in my mouth. Respect, yeah big in our lives as mobsters, maybe if you would have shown some then you'd get some.

"If you think keeping a safe distance from the police is a bad idea, go to the graveyard in Palermo and take it up with the 500 year old corpses."

First of all, I'd doubt they'd say much of anything, secondly that was 500 years ago, today we associate with the police and have for decades.

Speaking entirely out of character, you realize that there's a whole tips part of the game that is based with interaction with police to help us (mobsters) in finding drugs, people to kill, and who got thrown in jail. I'm sure you knew that Leah, you're quite intelligent.
Report Post Tip
The tenet that we live by is that no one with relatives to the police may be allowed in La Cosa Nostra. It is not that we may have no contacts with them. Paying off the police is a part of daily business.
Report Post Tip
I'm done arguing, you've made me go retarded with your nonsense.
Report Post Tip
I don't think you can blame your condition on me. This "nonsense" you speak of is as much a part of this thing of ours as Omerta. Is that also optional nonsense? I'm quite shocked and disappointed that this well known standard of the mafia is apparently unknown to these parts.
Report Post Tip
There have been plenty of crime families with soldiers who have had relatives in the police. Oh and 500 years, hard to believe la cosa nostra has been around for 500 years, but you're that old, so I'll leave to knowing everything about everything. You were there for every step of Capone, Gotti, Mussomeli, Villalba, Corleone and others. I had no idea.
Report Post Tip
It's obvious you had no idea. Maybe you should go do some studying. :)

Our roots go back to the 1500s in Sicily and began in this country in the ports of New Orleans about 100 years ago.
Report Post Tip
Do realize this game is based in the 1920's correct? So it'd be 420 years. So, you're wrong anyway. Boo yah!
Report Post Tip
Game? What game? You lost me somewhere...

(touche)
Report Post Tip
(Exactly)

Leah, both of us are right, whether either of us want to accept it. My argument was as if I was completely wrong, yours seemed to be that you were trying to say I was completely wrong, when I'm not but I understand what you're saying, plus, who listens to Sal? He's just pure sexy nothing else.

Runs and hides in his safe house.
