So I'm planning on getting a cell phone within six months, possibly within as little as 2 months.  I'm in the IT field so I don't have any aversion to technology.  Issue is I'm very indecisive as which one I want to buy.  I've only had an iphone 4s.

1) What smartphone have you enjoyed owning and why? (which features do you like)

2) Which smartphone are looking forward to coming out this year?

I've been on an iPhone 5 for almost 2 years up until about a month ago, got a HTC One M8. It's made completely out of metal so it's pretty well built, it's fast and it's got a decent screen. Battery life's good too. Glad I've switched over to it, it's a definite upgrade.

As for the second question, it's probably the new iPhone. Though I'm happy with what I've got.

I've also got an HTC One and it's good. The one before this I had was also an HTC and my wife has an HTC.

Prior to this we always had iPhones but tbh I much prefer the HTC.

For me, having had both Samsungs and iPhones I prefer the iPhone. Especially if you have other apple products.

My company phone is an iPhone 4s. Absolutely hate it. My personal phone is an iPhone 5. It's kinda nice because when one decides to be a POS and not wanna work the other one does :P. Also in IT

if you like overpriced trendy stuff get a iphone, if your scared of visruses and hate games get a blackberry, if you like open os's and love games get a android (currently sporting a galaxy s5) i just moved from blackberry to iphone to android ill never go back to apple or RIM

I had the S2, S3 and S4... as well as and iPhone 3gs. Tried the HTC One, HATED it :( My s4 recently broke, after having several issues after the upgrade a year ago (and lack of customer service), and I got the iPhone 5s. It's decent. I honestly miss android and samsung... no real complaints about iPhone, it's just different...

I honestly think your best bet is to go in a store and PLAY with the phones... It's definitely a personal choice!

I have to disagree with anyone that says iPhone stuff is good. That's not out of ignorance either, I owned an iPhone 4s for almost 2 years and only enjoyed it for the first few months.

I originally started out with Sony Ericssons, moving on to the Google G1 (which I think was one of the first android phones). Then I went back to a Sony getting the Xperia X1 (which was okay, I didn't think it was anything amazing at the time).

I then made what I see now to be a huge mistake. At the time everyone was raving about iPhones.. I had seen my friends with them and I wanted a phone that was that good too. I got the 4s. I loved it at first, but after a few months the problems started. Buying replacement charging cables every 2-3 months because they break so easily, the wifi on my phone breaking completely and having to get a replacement one from iphone (which I almost couldn't because I only had about a week on my warranty left). By the time I replaced my iPhone with my current phone, I must have bought more than 10 new charging cables for it and the wifi had broken on it again which I couldn't get fixed for free because I was outside the warranty.

At that point I decided I was done with apple and all their products - I was sick of having to keep buying apple specific shit just because they for whatever reason didn't want the same chargers as most other companies and liked making ones that broke so easily. So I started looking back into android phones, because I had none of those problems with them.

Eventually I decided on the Sony Xperia Z2. At first I thought it was a bit big, but I soon got very used to it and now if I borrow someone's iPhone I feel uncomfortable using the small screen. The phone is also waterproof which came in very handy at Niagara Falls when I wanted pictures close to the actual falls (resulting in ending up completely drenched, but phone not damaged at all, yay). Very good camera on it (20.7 MP), 4K video recording (although prolonged recording like this heats the phone up something dreadful). It also has very good sound with two front facing speakers, and comes with Sony's own noise cancelling heaphones (which are awesome).

The phone looks kinda fragile but I've dropped it onto wooden floors from above waist height and it hasn't cracked (yet). Definitely a phone worth looking into!

I like my iphone 4s, but at the same time the screen feels a bit too small and I want to be 'wowed' with my next smartphone.  I like a lot of the new phones being advertised, except the Nokia cells.  The Sony Xperia Z3 is on my short list of ones to research more.  Although, the Sony Xperia Zx don't look that aesthetic I'll have a case most likely and the specs are impressive.

I do like apps a lot, play some games, check email, use it as a phone, etc.  I don't take that many videos or pictures.

I have to echo EricNorthman, I had 2 iphone 4s's over a couple of months and honestly, I found them to be fucking dogshit. I wouldn't use another Apple product again if I could help it. I'm careful with phones, but both developed random and ridiculous faults for no apparent reason, with both faults being something that Apple offer no fix on. Google, however, told me that both faults were actually pretty damn common with the 4s, so I'm not sure why the hell not.

I just at the weekend got a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. I can't speak highly enough on it. Runs great, very powerful phone for a "mini" version of another model, and it's well designed. It's not the prettiest design, and despite it being a compact, it is a little bigger than the iphones I had, but compared to some of the monstrosities that they're selling as phones at the moment, it is small. (Seriously, when the fuck did a phone that's supposed to fit in your pocket get so BIG?). I'd say definitely have a good look at what Sony are offering.  

Just buy something with games and android on it,and some hacking programs from blackmarket

Iphone 5S gold edition, it looks nice and feels light and im an apple lover

and for sure the Iphone 6 plus is on my christmas wish list 

1. iPhone 5s, because why not.

2. iPhone 6s.
