Report Post Tip
They have a ferris wheel on the main river between North and South to make the Communists look friendly.

Too bad it hasn't been used in decades.

Apparently they are having alot of problems lol

Sal, that's all true and well, but socialism isn't what you're talking about. It's communism, false communism that's abused by fat greedy dictators. Examples of socialism would include all sorts of things in the US, such as the police force, fire departments, education, etc. Capitalism is good, you make tons of money quickly. However it's not very stable, and when it eventually crashes, we shift to a more socialist stance, when everything's more stable, back to capitalism.

Well uh.. there's a movie that sums it up quite well, I guess - The Interview. If you haven't already watched this masterpiece, please go see it. It'll shed a whole new light on their supreme leader :D

i would like to visit North Korea; at the moment there are no package tours as they have been banned, but when they are allowed again i would be tempted to go. There are rules to follow when there, of course, but as long as you don't do silly stuff it would be a fascinating experience.

North Korea is a model country. The people are very happy about their splendid leadership, who always have the best of the country in mind.

Moreover korean barbeque is wonderfull and tasty.

Hard to have an opinion about something, that is so closed down. It's crazy to think that it is possible to run a country like this in 2025, but hey. Here we are :-)

As a non expert, I would say that if you compare the principles of how North Korea is run, they are very similar to those of the prior Josean period (monarchy) where the rights of people in society were based on whether they were aristocratic through to peasants - ranks which passed down through the generations and where upward social mobility was almost impossible. Those ranks have been swapped in the modern North Korea with what your grand parents did in the communist revolution and for example whether they were born in the south and ended up in the north afrer the war.

Great place. I would like to go there sometime :)  :)

OK, on a serious note.

I can't really have an opinion about something, that is so tight and closed for everyone else.
I do believe that it sucks to live there, but I've honestly got no clue.

North Korea is full of people who want to do the best for their families, in difficult circumstances, but where they have no real knowledge of anyone else’s circumstances being different from theirs. That is why people who get caught watching South Korean KDramas in North Korea are executed.

I mean, a lot of propaganda everywhere. Within every country, from Canada and US to whatever, rest of the Europe and the world.

But the craziest part about North Korea is that they are so much into the authocratic regimes that they have propaganda about great leader never pooping and whatever, not even Stalin did that, crazy lmao. Or should I say L-Mao!
