Yes,

it appears I did.

Probably not my wisest move.

Have you been living under a rock, Anteater? Errmmm...nevermind that. I forgot who or what I was talking to. I suppose you have been, in a sense.

As far back as I can research, there has always been consequences for supporting a rogue. That has included offering pity or condolences at funerals.

Opens his family album

Ah, there he is! Good 'ol FlyingPig, the hitsquad leader for Robespierre. I was just a toddler back when he was alive. He used to sit me on his knee and tell me tales about a current Boss at that time named Ganelon, a very short and very angry man who made a decree in the streets that anyone who openly showed the the slightest support for a rogue would be killed. I strongly suspect that my old Great Grandpappy took part in some of those killings. He would always show up with bloodstains on his suit. Nosebleeds, he would say. I know better now.

Turns the page

Then there was my Uncle Piggeh, a fine crewleader in the city of Philadelphia some years ago. He also did not tolerate rogues. In fact, one day I remember him showing up at my Dad's house being pretty pissed off. There was a rogue attacking his family, along with a few posted hits on the hitlist. After the rogue was killed, the hits remained. He began the slaughter of everyone who he knew to have business relations with the rogue until the hits were bought off. They did not even have to openly support the rogue, but only have a relationship with that person.

This just goes to show you, nothing in life is fair, and power determines the course of actions that will be followed.

I already addressed the issue about people being given notice. I think one thing that has been removed from our thing is the necessity for people using their own thinking ability. That's a real shame. Everyone wants their hand held.

How about this, instead? A step by step process, if you will:

1. Ask yourself: "What am I about to do?"

2. "Will this anger anyone who I would rather not anger?"

3. "Am I in the position to anger this person with regards to rank and power?"

This is essentially what is known as "street smarts". It's really that simple. You seem bright enough, so use your fucking head.

By the way, -mrevilman was authed by Father John. Not a rogue.

Rogues are an ESSENTIAL part of this life. Who could ever forget Mem, BrianArao and others spanning back many years?

Perhaps they were ESSENTIAL in another time and another place, but here they have always been looked down upon with disdain. At least, that is what my elders taught me. I will teach youngsters the same values passed on to me. If people want to rogue, that's their own prerogative, but it's not essential that they do. Regime changes, people dying- none of it has to be at the hand of the rogue. It can be done by other factions, other crews. Rogues are not needed, and if you're suggesting they should do the dirty work for some of the existing crews then I suppose you're also saying that a lot of leaders lack balls around here. I'm sure they all appreciate that.

You did what you had to do to reach the position you find yourself in. I presume that included some less than savoury deeds.

I worked hard for my family. I got auth in Detroit. I worked hard to survive a freak war comparable to World War One in casualties. I worked hard to rebuild the then Seven Cities. I kept myself alive. I got Godfather. Wasn't as "unsavoury" as you seem to think it was, but I certainly wasn't making back room dealings and writing up contracts for my survival. It was luck and, as previously stated, a lot of hard work.

As Butt_Ox has already pointed out supporting rogues is not acceptable, and it certainly won't be acceptable as long as I and a few other level-headed leaders are alive. Perhaps someday, years and years in the future, you can all play Rosey Posey and sing a Hallelujah chorus as a rogue runs around waving his gun in the face of your leaders. Yet as long as people continue to be a threat to (believe it or not, not just me) the Eight Cities, I will be here to eliminate, eradicate, and probably screw your mothers in the process.

In that other time and place they were looked down upon as well... I will not ask you to accept them or allow them to do their bidding endangering everyone, that would be stupid. I completely agree that they are to be hunted and killed regardless of their connection to mine or anyone else's bloodline. For instance Teq and I go back many, many years but it still doesn't mean I felt he should not have paid for his actions. He made his decision and paid for it, in the process many other people I have shared bread with paid as well and that is all expected.

My point that you will hopefully consider is the "Hollywood" aspect of what happened, which is why these outcasts are essential. At points of great stagnancy they add excitement, they drive people to the streets to interact when they otherwise would not. They create "buzz" if you will and breathe life back into this world if even for a moment. Right or Wrong, Hit or Miss (which most of them to my knowledge have done) they draw people out. Yesterday for example there were over 100 mobsters walking around for the first time at least in my short existence. There was active and sometimes overly emotionally interactions on our streets. It forced family heads to prove their worth to their families, for example showing their ability to conduct themselves with Diplomacy vrs might when threatened.

Please do not get the impression that I support going the outcast or "Rogue" route because my family has never and I don't really see ever will be making that decision. How ever, I can see the impact they have and not all is bad.

Nods, looking down at the ground for just a moment

"Well said Marietta, well said... i applauded your wiseness and thank Godfather Thomas from the bottom of my heart for sparing our lives... as for the promotions people say are easily givin... this is all about trust, we have two choices in life always... power is great, but has to be used the right way, not the wrong way... you have to trust people and unfortunatly there is always a bad apple that deceives yah... I'm glad you've pointed this out and i hope it will be recognized and practice with the greatest effort! Again i thankyou!

If you had noticed, it wasn't because of a rogue. It was because I threatened to demolish two cities and thus, prove the point that sparked this entire speech. Sure, the speech was about a rogue, but the majority of the masses were simply playing the single-minded village gossips, waiting for the bloodshed that never came.

The fact that so many people suffer from blood lust is a sickening topic for another debate, but I digress. All in all the point I want to make to you, Sewati, is that excitement can come in many forms. Rogues may be "exciting", but certainly if everyone put forth their best effort, this life could be stimulating for everyone around- without people having to lose their lives over it.

"Welcome to our world. Don't like it? Change it." (Quote by ThomasRourke)

I believe that's true, but what do you think happens when people don't even get a chance to change it? They get oppressed, whether their ideas are magnificent, or jack shit. So, when someone who actually has the heart to change something (possibly for the better), and never receives the opportunity to do so, they take it. They step out, set up, and do what they think is best.

Now, Anteater mentioned how rogues bring 'excitement' to our world. This is one of his ideals that I agree with. Not that we need rogues to be enthusiastic, but that we need enthusiasm in general. Rogues are bad. They are a horrible sign of discontent. What's even worse, is that sometimes, the rogue has good ideas, and has to rogue for people to hear them. But, by that point, he's been dispatched by out city leaders. If we could take those that want to rogue (for the better), and actually let them help, we wouldn't have the rogue behavior, and we would have more activity in our streets.

White Widow listens intently, and steps up to speak,

"I'm actually appalled that this conversation has gone on for so long. GodMother Marietta has spoken, GodFather Thomas has spoken, it should be quite clear that their word is final."

"Why do so many civilians and thugs feel they have a right to come out to the streets and blatantly disrespect the leaders of the Mafia? Blatant disrespect should not be tolerated, even from those who are brand new to this thing of ours."
Report Post Tip
Mongo I disagree with the following statement:

What's even worse, is that sometimes, the rogue has good ideas, and has to rogue for people to hear them.

In the current climate people are getting authorized to start crews at a blazing pace. That not only means increased leaders, it means increased RHs, LHs, and upper structure members. Logic would dictate that mobsters with any remote ability to be patient, follow their crew leader's orders, and remain loyal will get their shot to not only be heard but become a decisive member in the underworld. In my opinion, if a rogue has a "good idea" and couldn't get it listened to they either didn't have enough dignity or patience to inevitably be heard, or the idea just wasn't good.

Rourkey, for what you lack "down there" you make up for with a phenomenal beard. End of story!

On another matter; the amount of people running around the mafia doesn't really matter to most people. Half or more of these people are invalids who aren't capable of lasting more than a few days without pissing somebody off.

I think the 'number of people around here' should be measured on the amount of Made Men and above, for really they are the only ones whose words count for anything. Although lately it seems even GodMother Marietta's, and GodFather Thomas' words don't mean much to most.
