I hate Mafia Meets.

The game hates Mafia Meets.

I hate OOCitis, but I'll live.

I wonder if the leaders are breaking their own rules now by random wacking.
Report Post Tip
It's only random wacking if there's someone more powerful to punish you for it. Fortunately for you, everyone that has died has died with due cause.
Report Post Tip
Explain?
Report Post Tip
Explain what? Do I need to explain anything to a thug? Come back to see me in five years, my boy, when you have some rank under your belt and I'm sure I can help you contact the people who were involved.
Report Post Tip
Yes I'm being fairly disrespectful, yes I know leaders don't have to explain their actions or their words for that matter...

Glares at Butt_Ox.

... However, when you are just blowing your own trumpet for the sake of it, I tend to have doubts.
Report Post Tip
Oh snap! Well thats true, who is going to punish the most powerful members of the mob? ...nobody!
Report Post Tip
What are you looking at? Do you find me attractive?

Anyhow, please explain how the killing of mobsters in the course of a war is...what do you call it...random wacking?
Report Post Tip
They were pretty much randomly selected targets. "Hey let's shoot him and use this feeble excuse as reasoning because we can." If this society has descended into that, then the world will stop turning. I know that's a Mafioso's guiding star, "because we can", but it doesn't work around here. People just leave if it descends into that.

I'm looking at you because you will scold me for any of my words because all of my points are pretty much OOC and saying that this world needs a turnover of people running the mob otherwise it will just become boring and pointless.

Nods his head.. mumbling about let em burn.. let em burn for their actions against Detroit

Alright, that's your opinion, but I disagree. I think that throughout history we have always had pointless wars (and I'm not agreeing that this was one of them). In fact, I think in the old days the motivation for war was more frivolous than it has ever been in recent years. Ganelon used to throw a war party every Friday night, whether it was necessary or not. Uncle Nicky killed any leader that was not affiliated with him, and replaced them with a UN leader. Mrevilman, well, he just killed everyone whether they needed it or not.

The biggest myth around here is that death drives people back to the old country. This is not true. If it were, the cities would have emptied ages ago. Quite the contrary, most mobsters love the experience and are willing to assume the risk just to experience the thrill of confrontation. There is always a period of bitterness by the children of the fallen, but it is short-lived and followed by acceptance. At which point they pick themselves up and move on with their lives.
Report Post Tip
The problem here is not war. Whether they'll admit it or not, most people love war, it's motivation for a great many people. It's one of the very few things in this thing of ours that is actually exciting, rather than just enjoyable, which many other parts of it are.

The problem here is the same as that experienced by any other long-running leadership of note in our history. People grow to want change. They grow to take exception even at small things and they grow to become wound up by leadership decisions. On the other hand, this is often perpetuated by leadership, after n months of hard work, deciding to take a fuck-it and fuck-yous, hard-nosed approach.

Cycles, cycles, cycles.

From a more tactical standpoint. Why would you let a fallen leader's members live? That could create many problems for people during a "war".

Let us say a Capo wakes up to hear news his leader has fallen over knight. He had become friends with his leader, he had bonded with his leader. He had grown loyal to him. What is he to do now, just brush it off?

What is to say that this Capo will not pick up his own gun in revenge? He will feel a rush of loss and hurt. He is a threat.

This method of war, shooting all the leaders members of rank, ensures that no act of revenge is ever able to be taken, even considered. Thus, possibly saving a life of someone of their own families. It seems the only smart thing to do really.
Report Post Tip
That may have been true at one point in history, Patriot, but these days it is the exception that a family continues to fight after the death of their leader, rather than the rule. It's pretty sad that it is considered safe to leave high ranks alive after killing their Boss. Disloyalty and self-preservation is now the assumption.
Report Post Tip
You will find out who will become a good leader by letting them leave because, if they just start shooting then they are terrible leaders, but if they join a new family and let it go then they are not hotheads and would make great leaders.

I know its kind of risky but thats my opinion
Report Post Tip
It's the whole "they just start shooting" part that we are trying to avoid by killing off all the enemy crew. If a leader subscribes to the notion that one of their members are more valuable than 100 of another family's members, then there is no reason that the risk should be eliminated.

Also, I could not disagree more with your assessment that if they just start shooting they will be terrible leaders. If they start shooting, aren't they fighting for their family? If they join another family and let it go, they are disloyal and cowards. Think about this again, which would make the better leader?
