Marietta catches Adrian on his way to his new headquarters. She stops him and smiles, grabbing ahold of his hand and shaking it vigorously.
"I must say, my apologies for not making it sooner to congratulate you, Adrian. This is a big step in your career- one that I know you will do to the best of your ability. Since your younger days I have always found you to be a loyal, reliable and dependable man to your family, to Nicky. Over time I've had the pleasure of working with you myself on a few occasions, and I know that you are a spirited, intelligent young man. Just stay positive, and you will go far."
She pauses, tilting her head and smiling at the man once more.
"I know I'm getting all emotional on you here and now, and I apologize for that. I've just known for quite some time that this is a place where you would belong. Bold, a leader. You have it in you to do many great things, Adrian. Believe in yourself, your family and your city, and you will have accomplished beyond your wildest dreams. Congratulations, Sir." |
