| Detroit Protection Order | Started by: Tetley on Apr 02, '15 23:06 |

Members of the fallen leaders Cloud and Louis-Manciagli are to be afforded 14 days protection from this time. This protection order only includes those who are tagged with either Avalanche or Torrential Downpour and does not include anyone more than 14 days inactive.
Thanks Tetley |

What happened to the rule of no wacking those below Made Man. Sad state of affairs I would say. Really no honor or control when this happens. |

The "no wacking of those below Made Man" doesn't exist to my knowledge. You may be thinking of the former rule (or perhaps still current) of all Made Men and above must "go down with the ship" so to speak. The only thing theoretically protecting members and associates of the fallen families is this protection order and those who can enforce it. After reviewing the most recent Godfather Commission rulings; as of Jan. of this year.. No such rule exists of sparing those below Made Man if no protection order is issued. "If it's not in the law book, it's presumed legal." Furthermore, I notice that the majority of the associates met the stipulation put in place by this particular protection order. That stipulation being "more than 14 days inactive." I think I saw one associate who was killed that did not meet this requirement, but he or she was "untagged." Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Regardless, rest in peace to the fallen. |

Perhaps I wasn't clear... I was replying to FastFingersFreddy's statement about people under Made being off-limits. Saying that no such rule exists, at least to my knowledge. So, you're correct, the protection order doesn't specify anyone under Made. However, I wasn't addressing the order itself, rather the misconception that associates are not to be shot during conflict. So, I will not consider myself corrected. |

I feel the need to say one thing, there's never a protection order for men of honor in wars, they are supposedly to fall with their own leaders and this has been stated before in the commission rules. I am sure somewhere it states that protection orders only apply on associates and not men of honor. As for those 3 mentioned earlier, they were 2 consiglieres and a boss, obviously they didn't fall under the protection order. |

Yet I feel this protection order could have been clearer in relaying it's message to us. It did not mention the exemption of Made Man and above and that can lead to confusion. Looking up the Godfather Commission rules from a while back:
So I guess these rules no longer apply? Because this protection order calls for 14 days of protection, not 7. The ruling does not talk about 'only associates' and thus I must take a wild guess and think these rulings no longer apply? I do hope someone can shed some light on this. |

Tony steps up in front the crowd and tips his fedora to them, he takes out a piece of paper and recites a passage about the protection order rules. 'The option of placing a protection order will be on the person who created the scenario that requires it. In war, the option of protecting crewless members will be in the hands of the victor.' Tony then puts the paper in his jacket pocket while continuing. From my point of view I look at this as the victors have the say. They can say whether to take out the entire crew regardless of rank or keep a certain level of rank alive. It doesn't specify because it really doesn't need to be. Whatever the victors decide then so be it. Again this is just my point of view and how I read this. Also I've always known it to be no made men or above would stay alive, a certain 'go down with the ship', it's not written anywhere but I think this is agreed by the general population. Tony nods and takes a step back as he allows another to give their opinions on the matter. |

Wouldn't you agree that it makes protection orders very confusing then, Tony? Written rules would certainly help in this case. |

I suppose defining it more on a case by case scenario would help however with this events particular scenario the ones in question were all above made which goes back to what I said about those 'going down with the ship'. There shouldn't have to be anything defined about that, if the victors decided to keep, for whatever reason, certain button men or above protected then they would be specify so. There was no specifications of that here so again I think the general population would realize it's for ranks below made. |

Eh, seeing there was confusion earlier, I think the general populace wouldn't necessarily realize that. |

Still deeply sadden by her mother’s death, Rain steps up to speak. It really doesn’t matter what the scenario was here. Being that people were killed after the protection order was issued, the scenario apparently was to kill first and ask questions later. It was stated As I see it this protection order was not awarded to any particular rank, however unprecedented to some, it was the lack of respect for a highly regarded man not to have honored his decision. Although my mother wouldn’t have wanted to live, would rather go down with the rest of her comrades, she was still killed under this protection order. |
