This was complicated somewhat though, seeing as how he had to be kept wet in order to survive. Thus people would throw bucketfuls of water over him to keep him happy while travelling on the plane. |

He was very good at tricking people into thinking he could swim, by crouching in shallow waters and walking just below the surface making ominous "da dum da dum" sounds. |
