The Street Kingdom Started by: Tie on Jul 01, '09 03:08

Walking around his new HQ, head in the clouds, Tie was excited. Obviously, he was excited about being authed, but that wasn't all he was excited about. In reality, this wasn't a new HQ, it was the former HQ of MacLeod, and Tie had spent much of his childhood here with his Godfather, and Right-Hand man to MacLeod, Adrian Champagne. Adrian loved his Godson, and was always sending for him to come down from Canada for extended visits.

That's not the only reason this HQ was special though. MacLeod picked the building for the HQ because it was abandoned for years, and he was trying to bring some life back into the Las Vegas neighborhoods. Before its years of being empty though, it was the headquarters for the leader of the New Blood Rising, The Captain, his great great, great, great, great, etc, Grandfather.

Tie loved being told stories about The Captain. He was charismatic and loved by his crew, and the community alike. Hearing about him in his young and impressionable years, is what made Tie decided that he wanted his own crew some day, and that he would run it even better than The Captain.

After thinking back to his youth, Tie decided to visit his old hiding spot, a secret hide-away built into the basement of the HQ that he found as a child. After making sure none of the help was around to see, he pushed a spot of the wall aside, to unveil the hide-away. A lot tighter of a fit now, but he still managed to get through the little tunnel that led to the space.

Upon reaching the end of the tunnel Tie stood up and looked around. The first thing that struck him was that it looked exactly like he remembered it. He thought something would have changed in all those years, but not a thing had...except for one little thing, which was the second thing he noticed. It almost knocked him off his feet. In the middle of the floor, were two notes. As far as he knew, nobody knew of this place other than him, and the people who built the place. He never told anybody about it, and he always made sure nobody was around, when he snuck in. One of the notes was fairly new, while the other one was yellow from the passing of many years. The notes had to be for him, so he went over and picked up the first one.

The note read: "Hey kiddo. Its your favorite Godfather. I'm gonna keep this short, because the second not is the one you really need to read. Anyway, if you're reading this, two things have happened. One good, one not so much. The bad thing is, I'm probably dead. I just hope I managed to accomplish something before I died. The second thing thing is you are getting your own crew. You were bred for this, kid. I brought you here so often to get you exposed to this life, because I always knew you'd end up in it, just like you were supposed to. With The Captain in your blood, you were born to be different, and a step above the rest. Just know that I love you, and I'll be watchin' over ya kiddo. Do me proud and do your family proud."

Tie folded the note up, and put it in his pocket, tears welling up in his eyes. He wiped his eyes with his hand, and picked up the second not. He had to be careful with it, because it was brittle with the age of many years.

The note read: "Well either The Captain's dead, or he made it appear that way. You must be the Prodigy that's been born and bred to replace The Captain. Musta taken them awhile to find youand, chances are, you ain't half as good as him, but The Captain's gonna give you a little crash course in running your own crew...and that's exactly what it is. Its not a family until you, and everybody under you, earns that status. That's something leaders back in The Captains' day, didn't quite understand. Probably still don't if The Captain had to guess.

Anyway, first and foremost, even above your own crew, comes street presence. If you're a mute and your crew is a bunch of mutes, nobody's gonna take a damn thin you say, seriously. Spend your time on the streets doing what ever you need to, it doesn't even have to pertain to business. That doesn't mean make up things to say, when you don't have anything. If you don't have anything to say, don't say it, but always watch the streets closely. You might be able to pick up quite a few things, and even predict the future by watching the patterns of the present.

Secondly, comes yourself. Don't believe any of that bullshit they feed you about putting others first. Your crew can't survive without you, and if you aren't the most important person in your world, then nobody else is going to think of you as the most important in theirs. If you want to keep your crew safe, keep yourself safe. You are the most important person to you, and you aren't the only person to think that way. You'll just be the only person who has the balls to admit it.

Thirdly, supposedly first on most peoples' lists, is your crew. If you expect to make any kind of change, you have to surround yourself with others who are, not only wiling, but ANXIOUS to make a change. The type of people you recruit, reflect back on you, but you also have to realize that everybody has a purpose. One of your major goals is to make money. Money makes the world go round, and anybody can make it. Quality is better than quantity, but the more you have, the more money you're making. Give a shot to anybody that wants one. They can always be dealt with, if they do something stupid, and just because they're associated with you, doesn't mean they have to reach your upper echelon.

Last, but not least, is the Community. You might think this isn't important, but believe The Captain, it is. This is your world too, you have to live in it. The attempt to make a change, and to care about what happens in your community is what separates a leader from a follower. By making the Community a better place, you improve your crew's situation, and your own situation. Don't forget it kid, you came from the people. They got you where you are, and they can take it away again. Don't EVER forget where you came from.

That's pretty much all The Captain has for ya, just go out there and do what he couldn't do. Make a change, and don't let people get to you. Its your time to shine now, so blind em' kid."

Tie finished reading the note, and looked up with a sense of purpose. He carefully folded the note, and placed it in his pocket. He climbed back through the tunnel, closed that spot of the wall again, and made his way up through the HQ. He fixed himself up a bit, and headed out the door, and to the streets. Upon reaching the most crowded part of the street, he stood up on a car, and addressed the growing crowd.

As you probably know by now, I have been given auth to run my own crew in Las Vegas, under Aurora. First off, I'd like to thank Aurora for giving me the chance, and Premier for allowing me to pursue it. I'm going to keep this pretty brief, as I have things to attend to in my HQ, including finding members. I just wanted to let all of the bosses know that I look forward to working with them, and I wanted to let the rest of the community know that I'm here for them, even those not from Las Vegas. If you need help for any reason at all, don't be afraid to come to me.

A lot of you are probably wondering what my plans are and, to be honest, I don't really have any at the moment, other than setting up my HQ. I was given the chance to start a crew, and I took it. I have no plans for the crew yet, other than stepping things up in the streets, which has always been a big thing for my bloodline. That's pretty much all I have at the moment, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. I should have another speech up soon, when I decide exactly what it is I want to do with this crew. The only thing I have so far, is the name. The Street Kingdom.

Oh yea...and you can just call me The Prince of Pittsburgh...soon to be King of the Streets.

Tie waves to the crowd, and sits down on the car hood, waiting to take questions from anybody who might have them.

A bit drunk and walking in a slight curve on the sidewalk, Kates raises her flask to Tie.

Congratulations, Mr. Tie. Las Vegas is certainly one of the most unique and special cities out there. I remember seeing you as a kid back when you were visiting AdrianChampagne- we'd always wind up getting shuffled out for a meeting. You've certainly come a long way since those days, and I look forward to seeing what you can accomplish. Best of luck to you, sir!

Brandon walks through the crowd Listening to Tie speak. He waits for him to finish speaking before approaching him.

"I would just like to say congratulations, good luck with any future endeavors you have for your family. I can see why Godmother Aurora chose you to lead in the fine city of Las Vegas. If you ever need a hand, please know that my door is always open".

Brandon looks around and smiles, picturing the fine things in store for this lovely city, before nodding to one of his bodyguards, who approaches with a plain box with a bow around it.

"This present is for you, since i think you may need it."

Brandon smiles and shakes Tie's hand before turning and strolling away. As he walks away his bodyguard remains behind to open the box to show a fan, before passing it off and turning to catch upto his boss.

Thank you all very much, I'll be honest, I didn't expect to get this much of a reaction, but I'm glad that I did.
