CrazyNine, I fail to see why you would concern yourself with targets. That is for the gods to deal with. As I say, it is a separate issue entirely.

Regarding the breaking of the -48 rule; authed shots on under 48s has happened for a long time. The under 48 rule is/was a preference of the gods to protect those new to these shores to enable them time to find their feet. Protection of someone whose bloodline is not new to cosa nostra and knows for a fact they want to be terminated, I would imagine, is not really the primary reason for the rule. Which is probably why it has happened, and been tolerated without any problem, for so long.

So just to state again for those that didn't get it.  I'M SHOOTING ALL -48 AUTH. SHOT REGARDLESS OF WHO THEY'RE AUTH. FOR!!

Scenario: You are in Philly and there is a Gangster walking around, that is wearing a shirt that reads "Authed Shot for Don Odd".

You are going to shoot him?

What if this Gangster was wearing a shirt that reads: "Authed Shot for Godfather Rourke"? You gonna shoot him?

I'm not really sure about the second of the two scenario's...but the first one you won't be doing. Effective immediately you and your family are not allowed in the city of brotherly love. I don't do business with people that choose to speak to me like that.

Anyway, I'm in agreement with my esteemed colleague BoabyWanKenobi, even if he couldn't reach Capo at a respectable pace. If a Gangster is foolish enough to advertise themselves as an 'authed shot' prior to their chosen murderer being available to do the deed, then I would think that would have been an unfortunate error that would likely culminate in someone else removing them.

The ludicrous -48 hour rule, which has little merit to us mere mortals, has long since been decreed by beings upon high. I don't understand their ways, but I'm sure they have reason for doing this (new players, etc.) and this is a debate that has long since been exhausted. I do beleive however, it is more coincidence than intention that these authed Gangsters fall within this protection.

Whilst I do not feel it should be up to the victim to choose their would be killer if they cannot handle our way of life, obvious circumstances arise where the named murderer should negate all possibility of another hitter snatching the kill as Odd has already pointed out. Incurring the wrath of those more powerful than you is going to severely hamper the longevity of your stay here.

Repeated killings by one bloodline of authed Gangsters from another bloodline is bound to catch the attentions of the Gods before long. It is up to them to deal with this, should the leaders of our cities choose not to and they have no real reason to.

If this anger was due to members of one organization offering themselves up as fodder to members of a seperate organization (a particular annoyance of my ancestors) then I would understand it. However, Gangsters who choose to leave our way of life, regardless of if this is after 48 hours or before it are not worthy of our protection. They do not deserve to be missed or avenged and should be quickly forgotten as the lowest of the low they've proved themselves to be.

CrazyNine, no one has implied that you shouldn't give your views, or that you are "nosy". I've no idea where you got that idea from. What I did say is that, basically, abuse of targets is a problem for the gods/city hall to deal with, not us mere mobsters. If for no other reason than there is no way we can know if targets are being abused. The debate before us here has absolutely nothing to do with targets, or shouldn't anyway.

I agree with Mob Marley here...  I myself probably won't partake in mowing down gangsters for that proclaim they are "Authed for Paul Nobody" because let's face it, I'm way too old to be scouring the ends of the Earth for kills like that.  

But we do offer protection for -48 folks quite frequently, to see any of them offer themselves up as a shot to a friend or colleague is always a bit disheartening for me to see.  Having that protection is a privilege abused time and again by those folks who are in a rush to expedite their own passing.  I support Mob Marley in his efforts to shoot any Gangsters who have any variation of "Authed Shot" in their profile regardless if it's for a Don, Consigliere, whatever, because let's face it, designated target accounts are lame.  I do not count Birday in this because he at least gets Made Man or Capo before becoming a glorified target account... Never Consig though... Sad.  There's a reason he's in Molson.  If Mob Marley can kill just one unsponsored person who had designated his shot for someone else then it's a start, because those particular people should not get what they want for taking advantage of our granted protection period that has cost us the lives of many a high ranker who break it.
