No soap boxes, milk crates, buckets, podiums, or stages. No glitz, no glory, no pomp and circumstance. Just a woman standing here ranting about something that may or may not be important to the ladies, gents, or in-betweens of this wonderful little country we call home.

As of late there has been a great influx of people and getting out into the open now and getting to know old friends, new friends, and maybe even enemies. It started when the ice disappeared off of the lakes and the snow stopped falling. Rumour has it Spring is in the Streets! People are awake and ready to see the world anew. They want to get out there, spread their arms and breathe in deeply as the harsh winter fades into memory.

New romances are blossoming just as the cherry trees on the sidewalks. Debates and engagements. Conspiracy, threats, and even promises.

It's all out there for the world to see. The rumour mill is churning out new half-truths and falsehoods every day. It's what makes the world go around isn't it? Something to do in between that trip to collect money for the boss or make a bit extra for yourself.

Did you hear that we're all gonna die?

How about that Vladamir and Irina got engaged? Talk about a power couple, eh?

Aniki took it upon himself to question those that lead the cities around the country. Hey, everyone wants to know those at top, nothing wrong with that. He went straight for answers rather than hiding his curiousity. In the meantime Stefan revealed some dark details of what goes on behind the doors in Corktown. My, oh, my. Let's just say that.

Maedhros decided to explore the importance of jobs withing our families/crews/clans/gangs with a few interesting results. Was nice to see people out and about taking care of the serious things and having a bit of fun at the same time.

Philly's in the limelight again, are we really worth THAT much attention? We're just trying to make it in this world like the rest of you. Threats, hit listing, made up secrets.. Ooo the drama, the conspiracy, the hate, the plotting, the nasty things that make life fun. Word is that the end of our beloved city is coming because someone has their panties in a bunch my bloodline is back. Woo? Shit happens, I'm not going anywhere any time soon. Be it me, here as you see me now, or some relative/friend/stranger than strange person down the road, I'm here. Suck it up and spend your time loathing my very existence while I enjoy having fun and making new friends and getting reacquainted with old ones. Insert a smile, wave, and tossing of cookies here. Oh wait, Remus took over the biscuit business. Maybe I should get into coffee. I hear there's money to be made there.

All in all our Streets are where you can be reminded of things like The Godfather Commission rules while stopping in and catching up with an old friend or watching a bit of nutty fun. It's where we come out of our shells, educate and learn, bring this place to life. It's not like the OLD days where we had radio stations blasting out the latest hits, interviews with the leaders and your ordinary thug, there are no newspapers or tabloids, haven't seen a walker race yet let alone heard a "Boing!". There are no egos out and about spouting about how there family is best. No street parties to speak of. Last time I heard of a bikini contest or beauty contest were in some journals of some long dead ancestor or family friend. Who knows which one.

It's sad that these times have come and gone and we are left with what we have today. Now there are people complaining about it being too much fun. It's not what they think we should be doing. We're to be nose to the grindstone selling drugs and picking pockets all day while only discussing business in public. Having a life outside of crime is a no-no after all... At least where the world can see you going to a restaurant with your friends or celebrating someone hitting puberty.

There are some that want to split the people that inhabit these cities into two groups rather than one population. They want to make it so our entertainers and life events are worthless as they don't have anything to do with what they think is important. Is this really how things should be? Should we shun those that like to step out and mingle with people to a dark, dank back alley or a completely different neighbourhood? Wouldn't that completely be against promoting the masses to come out and experience other aspects of this life?

Gotta say that in all of the generations of journals I've read and the archives of the world's past available at the flick of a finger if you go to the right library I never, ever thought I'd see the day that public activity would become something to base segregation of the community on.

But hey, each to their own.

Love me, hate me, paint a target on my ass.. An old friend used to say something about letting the abuse commence, now.

Oh, hi tiggy.

It appears nobody cares enough to comment on your WhereWasI length diatribe.  Unlike my bloodline's latest efforts, which were talked about at length, here, there and everywhere.  But allow me to interject...  I'm nice like that, you see?

Not with abuse, of course, as my bloodline has never fed your Edwardian victim complex in the way your fantasise about, but just with a little bit of background.

Dasani talked about your blood over here and people can go over and see.  A descendant of mine talked about your blood over here - that remains one of the busiest and most popular conversations to take place on these Streets.

Ah, they were the days, so I hear - and they heralded the steady demise of your bloodline until they were banished from these shores.  And a little bird told me that Canucklehead's daughter pulled some strings that she really wasn't meant to and helped someone called Kee in ways that weren't shall we say "fair" - tut tut tut!  Nothing if not consistent, your bloodline!

And tiggy my dear, it's amusing to watch you grapple and struggle, because people that know you know what makes you tick, and you just can't do it any more.

On the bright side Kuklinski. You haven't forged any mails to try and prove yourself right. Yet. But I am sure, when you do, you'll fuck it up. Again.

As for the self promotion and personal vendettas. Get a fucking grip of yourself. Dullard.

Report Post Tip

Your sentence structure is interesting.  It's like.  You have some.  Idea of how to write but.  Just.  Can't.

Anyway, at least I try.

Regarding personal vendettas, they play rather a large part in this thing of ours, no?

Self promotion?  Moi?  Where am I promoting myself?

Report Post Tip

I. Just. Cannot. Bring. Myself. To. Talk. Any. Other. Way.

Personal vendettas over bloodlines generally die out. It appears your bloodline just keeps holding on though.

Self promotion?

A descendant of mine talked about your blood over here - that remains one of the busiest and most popular conversations to take place on these Streets.

Right there. Anyhow.

night!

Murphy was busy on the warm summer day, wandering to and fro with chores and her daily business affairs. As she bustled down the street she could hear a friend of hers speaking loudly to the crowds. Some gathered, some walked by, one in particular had decided that the streets needed a whole lot more negativity and horribleness, calling tiggy out on something random, trying to break the indomitable spirit of the woman who spoke. However he was altogether mistaken in his assumption that no one cared.

She cared. Miss tiggy was a friend who often provoked thoughtful conversations, ones that dug a little deeper than the vapid gossip and idle words spoken in the cafes and businesses.

I have in my possession several newspapers from the time when my uncle and mother roamed these streets. They are filled with stories, interviews, and interesting tidbits that leave clues to the way things used to be. I remember reading through them as a child, interested in the ways of the world and the families that ruled it. Coming here into my own family as an adult now, I can see the dearth of such materials. It seems as though those who were the journalists who wrote such interesting columns and interviews the bosses of their time have all but faded away. Once in a while you see a scam or a heist zipping through the streets, and watch as the drama unfolds, wondering if the perpetrators will get away with the crime or be brought down by the law but those too are far and few between.

The streets of today aren't what they were when I was growing up plain and simple.

Oh, Murphy, it isn't something random, it's a series of very specific and related events.  And they aren't exactly unknown.

As for the jaded claptrap about the Streets not being what they once were, bla bla bla.  Reinvigorate them, then!  One used to be shot dead for speaking out of turn, that doesn't happen any more.  We might not be in a golden age of a Street speaking, but nor are we in a dark age.

And bighead, that wasn't self-promotion - it was a simple statement of fact.  You will be unfamiliar with the concept of such a thing.

Report Post Tip

Despite them being known or not it's the past. The past is the past for a reason. My family has been around for a long time, long enough to know what happened and why it did. The fact of the matter is, it's over and done with now. Times have changed, so have people and you need to be able to put it aside like the rest of us have because you want to talk about old rotten news that is the equivalent of taking the dead horse you were beating and beating another dead horse with it, it's your constant whinging and picking on ONE person in particular.

Report Post Tip

"My family has been around for a long time, long enough to know what happened and why it did"

Oh really?  Care to enlighten us, Murphy?

If you *did* know, you'd know it was an entire series of events, each as repugnant as the other.

Report Post Tip

Yes I know, no I don't give a rats ass because it's in the past and there it will stay. I know exactly what it was, it was one of the reasons my family line left for a while until things cooled down. Doesn't change the fact that it's not now, now is what matters. Now is where I live, not the past.

Report Post Tip
So Murphy, you judge my bloodline strictly in the now do you?
