War! It loves to take our dearest away from us, it loves to surprise us and it always leave a dent in our business. Capable leaders are taken by Death's hand without distinction; supposed misses hit by accident and the victors are wounded and exhausted. But! Business has to continue no matter what, and with the death of some comes the rise of others. People's identities unmasked and their identity becomes known while others fall and fade into obscurity. It becomes clear where loyalties lie and friendships are tested.
Business will be picked up by the survivors - the victors - of course aided by the kin of the fallen. And there is the odd survivor, someone who abandoned his old leader, his family, so he could live to see another day. Is it truly living, when you can swap families that easily? Do you truly belong in this world, built upon honor? Associates, sure, they aren't truly a part of their family and they should be allowed to swap sides after their leaders have fallen. But those who are Made, or above? The blood of that family flows in their veins, they are their family and their family is them.
The betrayal is, in itself, awful enough, but to openly come to the streets and announce and celebrate your survival, while your brothers and sisters lie in their coffins.. that is detestable. Those who condone it are nefarious, those who support it are unworthy. It's not unique that someone ''jumps the ship'', but I think it's unique (in stupidity and dishonor) to go to the streets with it. While I can appreciate that he was still learning (?) he should, by now, have the common sense that an action such as this would attract significant backlash. A learning point for the kin of Mr. MT.
