So, What Happened? And Who Won? Started by: Mr_Kuklinski on Jun 02, '15 09:49

As I wander these Streets, I see bodies left unattended, ruined HQ's, well attended funerals.  I see people suddenly a lot poorer than they were, the economy has taken a dent.

Men and women of honour and their associates are in smoke filled cafes and bars discussing what to do next - and then the question arises:

What happened?  And who won?

Detroit weren't really on anyone's radar - did anyone really assume that they would be a force to be reckoned with?  Who fired the first shots?  Did they think something was up and react accordingly?

Sure, I could hit the coffee shops and ask around, but my reasons for coming to the Streets are two-fold - to get people talking, and to revive that which was once the norm - talking, discussing and arguing about the if/buts/where/why and whens.

So, What Happened?  And Who Won?

Good to meet you my friend. You seem interested in the recent bloodshed our streets have seen.

Personally, I think such information should not be splashed out in the streets where mem and women can squabble over the details like children.

My advice would be to seek answers from your friends and peers. You'll only get half the story, but either way you're never going to find the real reasons or account of what happened. Omerta, paisano.

I find often what I don't know is because it doesn't concern me.

"Personally, I think such information should not be splashed out in the streets where mem and women can squabble over the details like children."

Who?

And the thing is, the thing is, that the dead have friends and vengeful children.

Did they die for nothing?

Philly took a beating,  but NY are still, more or less, intact.  Manhattan's gone, alas - a mainstay of this thing.

And what of Detroit?  A city of nobodies took out the biggest somebody in this thing, and came within a whisker of taking out a lot of other headliners.

And in Philly?  It seems the cream got capped and the chaff remains.  With a couple of notable exceptions.

This is where things fall down for him, Louis.

The man doesn't care what answers he gets, he'll twist them into the answers he wants. He doesn't care what the reasons were, he'll manipulate words into something else to change the entire thing to sound like he had some part in it.

Already we can see him flouting the truth with comments like NY still being more or less intact, when in fact we suffered as much as Philly did in the events that took place. Along with a childish remark about Detroit when the inhabitants there are far more credible than he is, it kinda sums up his whole outlook and childish attempts to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Add that to the fact he regularly will comment on how someone said something and ignore their content, it becomes somewhat pointless even giving him the time of day. Shame really, as there is a decent person in there somewhere I'm sure.

Tyrion, your intellects ranks with your stature.

"Already we can see him flouting the truth with comments like NY still being more or less intact, when in fact we suffered as much as Philly did in the events that took place. "

Well, quite - but then I did add the caveat that Manhattan fell - I took it as a given that people from this place would understand that Manhatten was a very significant area.  I then further qualified it by saying that the stature of the fallen in that significant area was great.

So stop it.

As for Deetroit...  Play the ball and not the man - that's what I do.  Now, they are not superstars, they aren't famous, or not as famous as their erstwhile foes, are they?  No.  So my point stands and stands tall.

This is an interesting war in that there is NO clear winner.  Manhattan fell, yes, but who gains from that?  Philly took a beating, as I said, and NY remains largely intact (but missing Manhattan, for those of us with an incredible eye for details and an attention deficiency).

So, I ask again - What Happened And Who Won?

It was tragic LandShark had been caged for way to long neglected and not fed now Sharks like to eat and well..........Its so terrible i cant talk about it the horror oh the horror.

Report Post Tip

Just disregarding the fact that NY also lost its Chairman and underboss for Brooklyn, then? As I said, you don't seem to like facts.

No-one won in this war. The world suffered and now the world is rebuilding. This is why people don't wish to come out here and cause petty squabbles over this and that, because we are focused on fixing things, not pointing fingers of blame or arguing over who did what.

So you can end your quest for this to turn into a petty debate between cities as that won't happen.

Report Post Tip
I think it's fairly obvious who won and lost.

NY lost badly, Detroit won and Philly inhabitants won.

Truth be told here Mr_Kuklinski is dat you got shot in ur  face and now you can't be handlin the truth MATE. Obviously you didn't be winnin and now you want those who did to be like 'yo I be winnin" so you can plot a revenge plot on em. Which u'll fail cause u dont got shit MATE.

Theon_Greyjoy that is true words right their MATE. I hope every1 can take sumthin from em

Report Post Tip

There are no winners in war. The dead, the fighters who survived, even those that didn't fight at all, are permanently and irrevocably changed by it. Almost every city was hurt by this war, and a lot of good men and women died.

Report Post Tip

Very well said Praefect, MATE.

Romulus clears his throat and says

"Who won varies on what your definition of winning is kuku. Woodpond set out to try and 'break the peace' that had settled over the game, He may have died but did he not complete what he set out to do. Philly was badly hit over and over again by the rouge that had the support of woodpond so i would say that Philly 'won' there fight admittedly with many loses in the end, you could say also that the rouge Fabio also 'won' even though he died because, he got revenge for Lush. Detroit you can argue 'won' because they flattened Manhattan but, again as with Philly with many loses. I think in some small way many people 'won' and there were but a few undebatable losers though like Godfather Tetley and Curtis who were slain by there own people either directly or indirectly. So the question shouldn't be who won, but what is your definition of winning Mr_kuklinski.

Romulus then turns to leave the area, knowing Mr_Kuklinski will try to twist things but not honestly caring.

Report Post Tip

Good points, Romulus - but I have to ask, who do you think had a hand in the killings of Curtis and Tetley?

Report Post Tip

Latin shot Curtis and Fabio shot Tetley. For someone who talks about being on the streets blah blah blah you don't listen/read the history books very much Kuku.

Report Post Tip

Kuklinski, that's a name that rolls off the tongue easy like, wouldn't you say?

Valid questions, which appear to have had valid answers? Maybe so.

Either way, business as usual, we know the score. So I'm told anyways, being a mere punk around here doesn't allow for any special treatment but I can speak for what I see and hear.

Report Post Tip

I knew Fabio shot Tetley, I didnt know Latin shot Curtis.  That's sad.

Report Post Tip
Well then as Tyrion suggested - find some friends.

Knowledge is power and all that.
