Face it, "member whoring" is part of the life, like it or not.

Well Tes, assuming that the negatives are true, then CLs that uphold the communication factor should have no problem with those member whoring.  As far as they are concerned, those CLs are just taking idiots off the streets while you stand around and wait for the strong minded individuals!  Right?

Sibilo decides to listen to the latest discussion and to give his input on the matter.

It is true, you could get a crew leader to teach a new mobster the way to do things. They could learn from the highest and from the best and in return, the crew leader would have a good new member of their family, someone that knows how to do things, make the family money and protect the family during times of war. However, what if that member grows all the way to the top, goes to be a crew leader, what does he do? He does what he was taught, he member whores someone, gets them to make money, protect the family and so on. You see the problem? I don't need to go into why member whoring is wrong, enough people over a long enough time have done that again and again before me and they will indeed do after me. I'm here to talk about how we can change such a thing.

Often in our world, we talk about how things should be done, the way things should be, yet they never our, in a number of different matters, they never are. This is because of the beginnings, when a schmuck comes off the boat, a crew leader shouldn't be talking to him, a hyped up made man should tell him what that exact made man was told just a little while ago by another made man and so on. He should be told what he has to do in life, how hard he has to work to get into a family, to become a made man of the family, to live in this society with respect and honour. I've got an idea, how about we stop talking about what is right, because we know what is right and you don't get any more magic stars for arguing against it either. How about we stop talking about the way to do things and how things should be done. How about we just do them. From what I have seen, since I have been a part of this world, from what my father and grandfather and great grandfather saw when they were in the same line of business as we all are. We have never done things the way they should be done, we have always managed to talk about how it should be done, tell people how they should do it and somehow never quite actually do it. Let's stop having crew leaders grabbing nobodies off the street and throwing them into their family, let's stop having crew leaders talk to nobodies at all. Let's do things, the way they should be done and with that, maybe, just maybe, the world will be the way it should be one day. Thank you.

If and When I were to be a CL I don't think I would allow member whoring ... mostly because its taking up space that Thugs and gangsters who earn the position can get ... And like others said they can possibly leak info to other families... and simply they aren't trusted,they shouldn't be aloud in the family...But who am I?Just a Wise Guy ... So my Input doesn't really mean anything ... But I would NEVER allow anybody I didn't trust into the family.

Membership in a family should be sacred. I can see letting a "legacy" get a shot at it, but, as a whole I think prospective membership should be based on ones actions and behavior.

Milk crates are simply too expensive for me at the moment.

A real mafia family would not as we call it "member whore".  People that wish to join a family must prove themselves and earn a place within the family. 

Respect is earned, not givin.

I have enjoyed this debate quite a bit, but I'm surprised by Sibilo's statement. Not that I disagree with him, but I wonder how he expects member whoring leaders to stop doing it. He proposes we do the right thing, and I commend him for that, but the issue always is the people who do not believe in member whoring criticizing those who do.

Thank you CrazyNine for your appreciation. I understand what I'm asking for is an ideal and will be very hard to manage. I don't believe their is a case for member whoring though, where you say that the debate is always people that don't believe in it against people who do. I can't see how you can accept that member whoring is right, in a world where respect and omerta are statues that we live by. A low life nobody being approached by a crew leader for them to join their family without any work on the thug's part. This is simply not acceptable in our world. In the end, you have to say what would you rather have, a tight group of ten people, all that you know and respect and you know that they will lay down their life for you. Or would you want a loose group of fifty people, the earnings may be a little bit more but when it comes to a tough situation and you need all your members to pull through for you, they haven't done any work up to this point, why would they now? I know which one I'd rather have, if your answer is different, I'm afraid you're in the wrong line of business son.
