Hey, it might just be coming back off the boat and not really understanding how things are here but the streets seem to me to be a little lackluster these days. Until recently it seemed that coming out in the streets was a useful way of gathering information, seeing what had happened in the latest war, why someone special to you was killed etc. Failing that it was also an area where you could air your views, enter into an interesting debate or an unpleasant argument and the fallout from these was often interesting to watch. Now all I see is people telling stories, lots and lots of stories. Stories of course have always had a place in the streets and are often amusing to hear but I feel the storytellers are taking over - like everyones just listening to a fictional mafia life without bothering to talk about how we're living now. I know people want to make their mark and get noticed by telling a decent story but its also important that these streets are used for other matters - like discussion. I've not been here long so if I have the wrong end of the stick please dont burn me, but my father told me things, and compared to his experience, things seem too quiet.

This just goes to show that you can never make everyone happy. Bateman, I agree that there's a ton of stories in the streets lately, but hell, that's what this corner of our world was made for, wasn't it?

I'm not one to sing out a yarn myself, but I do enjoy listening to the occasional story.

Maybe people ran out of things to argue about? People have been debating the same things over and over for many years now, perhaps everyone got bored of it.

I noticed a few people discussing member whoring, other than that I've not ventured very far around the place yet, so the discussion side of things aren't completely out the window so to speak.

It's the gradual pussification of the future generations....

More and more, politics came to play, and people have been told to play nice. Better to not say anythign at all than to risk upsetting anyone.

I remember when walking down the streets meant you had to arm yourself with sharp wit, otherwise you would get humiliated by more witty, clever, and experienced.

Truth be told though, Googlez, you're safer now...I've seen you go into battles of wits unarmed too many times.

Yes Googlez, you're to blame for this trend. I'm sure of it. We'll have to go back and read through diaries but I'm positive that back far enough your bloodline caused the instance of that which is what we are now.

There's a lot of new mafiosi in this world now than a year ago. Nearly 600 more on average. A lot are new and trying their lingo around the streets. There's not many wars anymore and when they are they're more massive than any before. The last one was the biggest war that I know of ever happening around the mafia world. Something like 162 Made Man+ ranked mafiosi died. Left almost every city demolished.

Everything changes when a new group of allies takes order. Just how things are. CP ran things one way, the leaders of today run things another. Just have to get use to it and always will be that way. Unfortunately to say everyone falls eventually and new leaders take over. It's the way history will always be and people have to get use to it.

Skate, which war are you referring to?

The one from this past June. With Brick_Pollitt, Adrian, Vicodin, JimmyTheLionHeart, and many others. I know there has been quite a few but as far as I remember that's the largest from recent times.

Watches Googlez as he stands in the middle of the street and shouts something that sounds like "LAWLLL". Not wanting the craziness to be contagious and potentially infect her baby, Kates pats her stomach and walks briskly in the opposite direction.

I hate what the streets have become. Whilst stories may have a place in the streets, they shouldn't completely dominate it. It becomes dull. I never thought I'd miss the street debates, as 90% of you don't know what you're talking about, but here I am getting all nostalgic in my desperation for entertainment.

Googlez is on the right track, people do what they think will get them the furthest. The current crop of leaders have placed an emphasis on stories; both through their own actions and by directly demanding it. This, coupled with policy dictating that you cannot argue with your betters, where even disagreeing with them respectfully in some cases is punishable by death, has led to people shutting their mouths. This is the world we live in now.
