And to SaintKronos, yes all special forces have their own aces up their sleeves, but the SAS trained your special forces soldiers when your units were in their infancy, and do you think the SAS really gave you guys everything, not to mention its a way of thinking that the SAS and British military has that makes them unique, i'm not saying the US doesn't have a way of doing things but history has taught us that the US and its approach to military strategy is blow shit up and see what happens. I'm not saying every US Serviceman has that mentality, you yourself strike me as a very competent and intelligent person. But you must have noticed yourself that a general doctrine flows through the US military that has a shoot first ask questions later, just ask the family of Pat Tillman RIP. Thank you for your comments about my countries Armed Forces BabyFace, and I have to say I love the Challenger 2, such an overlooked piece of hardware, always overshadowed by the Abrams even though the recent conflicts has shown that the Challenger is slightly superior to the Abrams, thats not a poke at anyone, you can even check, the Abrams has been destroyed many times in Iraq and Afghanistan whereas it took another Challenger 2 to put one out of action. And to be honest as for getting blown out of the sky in a dogfight, thats slim pickings for now as our current enemies have no aircraft and rudimentary anti air platforms at best, that could all change though if things flair up with Iran, hey SaintKronos, in a few years i could be providing your ass with air support outside of Tehran god forbid.

Nah the Abrams hasn't been destroyed too many times if any An Abrams once came back to a repair shop in Afghanistan with over 30 rpg's stuck in the armor

Another is when the Israelis fought their war I forget which one it was but I think it was the Seven years war or wahtever it's called they had 2,000 Abrams tanks and were outnumbered by Soviet T-72's by a 3:1 ratio and they didn't lose a tank

The only way to truly find out whose the best is if the countries with the top 5 tanks went to war which won't happen

Hes my reasoning why the Challenger should be at the top of that list, which actually is the one which shows such as Top Tens and such seem to agree with you on. They do this though as the Challenger has significantly less numbers than the Abrams to be feared, but who wouldn't fear a seemingly indestructible tank (except for a blue on blue situation) versus 10 Abrams which can be disabled with effort.

In one encounter within the urban area a Challenger 2 came under attack from irregular forces with machine guns and rocket propelled grenades. The driver's sight was damaged and while attempting to back away under the commander's directions, the other sights were damaged and the tank threw its tracks entering a ditch. It was hit directly by eight rocket propelled grenadesfrom close range and a MILAN anti-tank missile, and was under heavy small arms fire for hours. The crew survived remaining safe within the tank until the tank was recovered for repairs, the worst damage being to the sighting system. It was back in operation six hours later after the repairs. One Challenger 2 operating near Basra survived being hit by 70 RPGs in another incident.[9]

There have been only two Challenger 2s damaged in combat and one destroyed from a Friendly Fire incident with another Challenger 2.

Ever since we were outdone by the Germans in WW2, we have made it a priority to have the best tanks in the world, we have done this with all of the tanks produced by the UK post war. The Centurion , The Chieftain and the Challenger 1 & 2 have consistently led the field in tank warfare and design, as well as invention Chobham/Dorchester Level 2 armour.

You should watch the series FutureWeapons, and see what the USA is creating now for tomorrows battlefield, they have stopped with the bigger is better attitude, although the Aircraft Carriers just keep getting bigger and bigger lol, but now more and more US Military systems are becoming "smarter" and increased computer controls, you only have to look at the increase in use of UAVs to see this pattern.
