I'm sorry to rant about what countless people have ranted about before, but this is just stupid.

I know im a lowly civilian, but my family have been here a while... I have been here for less than 2 hours, and already i have had 3 or 4 invitations to families.

I'm all for helping new players, some people were good to me, asked me if i needed help, but not invitations.

Yes, help new players, but what has happened to the cut-throat world of the mafia where only the best got families? How are people supposed to learn our ways when we're wrapping them up in a ball of cotton wool and rolling them along to made man?

I'm sorry to rant, but really.

I've said my piece on this before. I hate this practice and completely agree with you that it totally cheapens one of what should be the most important stages in an individuals life.

I agree, and frankly, as a new player, it's just annoying if you've followed the advice, been polite and asked a leader for acceptance, you're waiting for a reply, and you get people killing each other to throw invites at you.

Call them out publicly, that's always a lark.

I'm not sure whether Tallien is talking about the invite practice of many crews, or the "dating" practices of our fair Rourke. 

I'll venture a guess and say he's talking about both.  And he's right.

i do say no, although i find it rude to ignore someone.

I'm just saying, people press you to go to allt hese legnths to be polite, work hard and be rewarded with a fmaily, when people are just family-whoring.

and they're doing t his, because there aren't enough people to go round, as there are so many families, so the lower ones get around this by inviting the first person they see.

I mean you're already calling out the leaders for sending them out, might as well make my job easier and publicly blast them for their business practices. One could argue that you're being disrespectuful by coming out here in the first place and assigning faceless blame.

Now you may notice that some Family's have changed their recruiting policy in order to represent the newer way of doing things.

What is this "newer" way of doing things?  Are you saying that there is now a practice where crewleaders don't send invites to every new member of this community, even before said new member can send a single request for an invite?  And that this practice is new?

Wow, I misspoke.  He wasn't even pitching his own crew.  I sure hope he gets paid for that advertisement.  I'd say I'm sorry about spelling his name wrong too, but meh.  I give him permission to say or spell my name wrong too.
