Based on the suggestion of a one GabrielMancini, we have chosen to introduce a new feature to our game to satiate the urges felt by tens and tens of MafiaReturns players while at work. For FireFox users if you click the "X" in the upper right hand portion of your screen it will bring up a plain picture of a calculator. For Internet Explorer users if you scroll across the "X" it will bring down the "Boss Screen" for you to click on to make it look like you are crunching really hard numbers at work. Even if you work at a job that doesn't involve numbers no one will ever question a calculator screen.

To get back into the game, just click the calculator again.

Now you can feed the addiction anywhere, and if you get caught, well... We tried.

This my friend is a GREAT idea ! ! I play it at work and many times I have to quickly change screen quickly to make this work. Awesome..

Thank you. Great Idea. I always have to switch to youtube at home when I have somebody passing by. Mafia games aren't usually socially accepted.

Since the original suggestion thread has been edited, restored, and now completely deleted, along with all the dissent that came with it, I guess I'll post here, provided this doesn't get deleted for not agreeing with the implementation, as I'm of the mindset that if its in a public forum that the public opinion is welcomed.

I do sincerely hope that for those of you who choose to play at work or at school, or other places where you'd have to hide your gaming activities that you cover your tracks better than to pull up a generic calculator. Most intelligent employers would wonder why you'd pull up a calculator on a website when every computer I've ever worked on or owned myself came preinstalled with one, and since this wouldn't work in all cases (IE, you're in a literature class but working hard on crunching numbers), I do hope that the MR userbase has the common sense to cover their tracks appropriately by pulling up materials relevant to what they should be doing anyway.

While this may have required absolutely little time to code and throw onto the navigation bar, I personally find that it adds absolutely nothing to the game and instead helps to undermine personal responsibility in real life.

If a user chooses to play from a location where they probably shouldn't be, then it is the users responsibility to deal with the consequences, and not the game's job to provide materials or 'outs' so that the user can cover his ass. If you're not smart enough to play responsibly, then wait until you can play without having to look over your shoulder.

I do hope more worthwhile suggestions in the Suggestions forum get appropriate attention, suggestions that add to the interaction and advancement to the game, not to the delinquency and bad habits of some users.

Personally, whilst I think this addition is cute, I'm in agreeance with GingerAle. Being a rebel is fun and all, but if you're playing a text-based mafia game so much to the extent that you need a "ZOMG IT'S ZE BOSS!!1!" function, then that's quite frankly pathetic. Maybe, you know, you should consider studying whilst at school? Or maybe even *gasp* working at work??? Most people have a lunch break. Most people have internet access from home. Maybe playing at appropriate times should be considered by a large chunk of the userbase.

I'm not saying this addition should not have been created. I'm not saying that people should not use this function. I'm saying that those who do, should consider reevaluating why they need use of such a function.

I am towards agreeing with GingerAle and Furb, but without the suggestion of working while at work or studying while at school. Everybody is responsible of monitoring one's own performance and if students get good grades even while playing MR at school, more power to them.

I am however surprised to see this suggestion implemented when GingerAle's argument about a calculator in a literature class is spot on, in my opinion. There are very few circumstances where the use of a calculator like that would seem appropriate in a work environment. So in the other thread, whoever suggested to just have a work link handy to then just hit the back button was, again in my humble opinion the one that gave the best advice.

Ok guys..gals, Its just a feature, calm down. If someone wants to play this constantly who gives a s**t. Let em. Its there life. Im not fingering anyone out but there's no need for name calling. This is supposed to be fun and if you have to resort to calling certain types of people names just because of a new feature well thats actually pathetic within it's self. Let's just have fun and not judge people. I mean we're all gangsters here right? So to speak.
