A pointless tale Started by: TBK on Dec 13, '09 00:02

TBK stood at the steps of what must be the world's smallest bank. It was everything a girl could hope for, meaning that it had the security of a small lemonade stand. The slow town was too small to even hire a security guard. She could literally walk in and out without a thought. It makes everything easy to have it that way. It was really the perfect job. All she had to do was take a step.

Time seemed to fly by as she stood there watching people come in and out with the dull lifeless expressions that came with living the slow life. Somehow it was so pointlessly easy that it wasn't even worth doing. She left wondering what made the perfect bank job. Maybe it was the risk that mattered, but then it was so miserable to try to flee the high security stuff. She was getting old way too fast doing that kind of work.

Maybe it was the people being robbed. In the city everyone lives so fast they never have a dull moment, yet their faces still light up in such a wondrous way when a gun is put to their head. On the other hand it happens so often that they don't get the look of shock a small town job gets. It really was her favorite thing in the world to have a bored face turn into a lively scared one. It was almost like she was giving them new life in a twisted and cruel way.

Maybe, she considered as she walked, it was the money. After all that was what mattered to everyone. She personally couldn't care less about money. Something about it just never appealed to her. She was well known for her ability to make money just not to use it with any care. It was well known that anyone could pick her pockets without her caring at all.

She stood outside of a run down building knowing that the second she went inside she would have to explain why she was still as broke as when she left. Through a window she could see the boss sitting bored and annoyed about something. Perhaps he just found out that she was keeping a couple parrots in the bathroom of the head quarters. Or maybe it was her habit of writing her thoughts on the walls of various rooms that had him annoyed. If she was lucky it wouldn't be related to her although she gave him enough reason to be angry with her that she was always the reason.

Perhaps she could run back and just rob the pathetic little bank. That would after all, force them to reconsider their security plans before they got robbed by some brute. Time ticked by and after wasting moments by trying to tie her shoes she decided it was the only option. She ran back to the steps of the bank and after only a minute of hesitation she ran inside.

It was truly a tiny place with only two rooms. She put her hand under her jacket and pulled out a small black handgun. She didn't know the name of the gun or what caliber it was but she knew that pulling the trigger made it go bang and that's what counts.

"Everyone stop where you are and lay on the ground." She shouted.

Everyone immediately dropped to the floor and it surprised her that no one screamed. The only way she could tell that they were scared was by the paleness of their faces and the ones that had started to cry. She was watching as they loaded a bag with cash slowly. She reached in her pocket and felt around for her keys; with this small of a job it was unneeded to have a separate driver. Not the best idea since she had failed to learn how to drive in a straight line.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw something flashed right near her face. She dropped down and shot a single bullet into whatever had moved. An old man dropped to floor and died instantly. She stood up and ran out of the bank without the money. Jumping into the stolen car she fled to the safe house and parked outside. Minutes passed as she wondered what had happened. What was that man trying to do? Why did she shoot him without thinking? She had never killed anyone before and the guilt was enough to make her hate living.

In that moment she realized that everything she was doing was wrong. She was corrupted and one of the most villainous people alive. Her very thoughts proved her nature. Even considering a bank job was bad, but being torn over what was the best was horrible. Then to go as far as to enjoy the faces was just plain cruel.

She waited for this all to make her feel like a monster. But it didn't. Somehow this was just fine with her. Besides the poor guy dieing, nothing about her life was something she regretted.

She got out of the car and amused herself by kicking a bottle down the street. Nothing had changed after all of that. Mcknighter stepped out as she walked towards the building.

"How did it go?" He asked looking at her empty hands.

"Well, it went fine until some guy ruined it. Maybe next time." She said as she walked passed him.

McKnighter shakes his head. That 'Maybe next time' was the 5th time he heard that in this month. That didn't upset him as much as hearing a gun shot. Curious, he asked,

"Who shot who? Please tell me you didn't forget your gun again."

Well, she wasn't limping, clutching anything, no blood was seen on her, could it be that TBK fired a shot and hit someone?

Report Post Tip

"Oh,...uh...I may of shot a civilian. But he started it. I told everyone to get on the ground and he didnt..." TBK said trying to act as if nothing had happened.

Report Post Tip

McKnighter was dumbfounded. TBK not only managed to fire a gun, but to HIT a target too!?

"Come on TBK, lets go get some milk and cookies, my treat."

He takes TBK's arm and walks her away from the bank. She most likely forgot that even out here, there's still cops.

Report Post Tip

TBK was completely distracted by the offer of food. Food happened to be something she loved and enjoyed a few times a day.

"Can they be peanut butter and pumpkin chip?" She asked with a grin. That was her favorite.

Report Post Tip

McKnighter laughed as they reached McKnighter's car. He opens the passenger door for TBK, and walks around to hop in as driver.

"Whatever you want TBK, I'm sure we'll find it."

Report Post Tip

TBK jumps into the car and immediatly checks under the seat for gum. "Mcknighter, can we grab lunch on the way home? I forgot to get food for the week, and by the way skipper ate your mantle peice so we need to pick one of those up."

Report Post Tip

McKnighter sighs, that dog is getting annoying. God knows why he lets TBK keep him. He gave TBK a look when she pulled out a 'used' piece of gum and  puts it in her mouth. McKnighter poked her and said.

"Don't be greedy, share."

McKnighter checks the time again, and drives to the nearest fast food joint to grab a quick bite.

as TP walks in the the bank he sees old man in the pool of blood, he looks at the coat as it seems known to him, he walks closer. People in the bank stand still, seems like fear has froze them.

TP turns the old man so he sees his face, it's the old guy who used to make leather belt for him when he played cowboys and indians. Memories spring back... TP is silent, walks in front of bank. He still can smell the scent of the woman who just drove off.

Well, I'll just start my Harley 1200 and eat something, I'm hungry, it's hard to think when I'm hungry.

Report Post Tip

Jynx standing just outside the bank saw it all, from that crazy woman firing her gun , to her joining an old guy. WAIT!!! that guy seems awfully familiar, she squints her purple eyes to see him better and remembered him from the stories her mom used to tell her while she is young. Her mom used to tell her stories , stories of her mom robbing banks , joining a gang that is compose of guys, ah yes her mom, such a hoyden back then.

So, he is still alive. I bet he is the only one around here , almost all the gang members that her mom had told her were dead. And she had visited all of them to give respect.

Report Post Tip

McKnighter spots a small, family owned Chinese restaurant, with no customers. He pulls up into a parking space.

"Hope you like Chinese, we'll get some to go."

He opens his door, leaving in unlocked. TBK already was walking towards the door, looks like she is pretty hungry. McKnighter slams his car door and hurried off after her.

Report Post Tip

TP rides his bike to small Chinese rastaurant, he switches off engine. He moves to the doors, his eyes spot open car,

either guy is a freak or too connected to think that anyone will dare.

TP walks to the counter and orders prawns with rice. He sits by the table so he can see whole restaurant. Behind him is nothing but a wall. You  can notice that he is plaing with two chopsticks in one hand as he is waiting for food.

Report Post Tip

Saw the old croon with his love interest going inside the Chinese restaurant, she follows them and walks over the opened car.

He either thought that he can still fire and run with the youngsters today or he is becoming too forgetful!

Now to give him a shock of his life she thought, slids to the car and starts it, ah.... I take from my mom's gift.....and off she test drive the car of Knight. Chuckling happily as she drive it faster the wind blowing on her face a if she is free of any burden. The life of the youth.

Report Post Tip

TP just got his dinner served, as he turns his head right on the parking lot he sees young woman entering car of McK, he just grins and watches her drive away. He is too hungry too talk to guy and as a matter of fact, he doesn't care, maybe she is his mechanic, or the proper owner of the car... either way ... it's not TPs car.

Report Post Tip

TBK walks into the chinese restourant wondering if they have any good vegan food. She takes her time sitting down and attempts to sit away from Mcknighter. But Tom is big and feels that she should sit with the boss. She notes the sudden arrival of strange people, one of which has driven off in Mck's car.

"Mck, dont eat too much we have a long walk ahead of us." She states to a confused looking Mcknighter. She then focuses on the menu and how she cant remember what kinds of food she usually orders.

Report Post Tip

Xarthex was sitting at the restaurant eating his favorite Chinese dish when different people started coming in one after the other. He saw familiar faces at the restaurant but he can't recall where and when did he met these people. Others are just strange looking people. It was like those times when something wrong is going happen.

Report Post Tip

McKnighter turned around to see some youth hi-jack his car. McKnighter was reaching for his gun when he saw the face. The child of a once very good friend. As Jade peels out of the parking lot McKnighter relaxed. She'll bring it back, one way or another. McKnighter pats Tom and tells him to go find us a taxi. He nods his head and stomps out of the restaurant. McKnighter sits down in front of TBK and opens up the menu.

"So, you found anything non-meat? I'm eying that chicken with rice. I don't know what kind of chicken it is, or how to say it, bet it tastes like barbecue."

McKnighter leans back, and looks around the room with the courer of his eye. He sees two men, sitting apart from each other. A threat? Maybe not, we'll see. He closes his menu and waits for TBK to be done ordering.

Report Post Tip

TBK looks over the menu with care. After almost a second she orders a root beer and tells the waiter to bring her whatever the kitchen has that hasnt been alive. For the first time she takes a good look at Mcknighter, he seems tired and worn out.

"Your getting old mck, want to head back soon and grab a nap?" She asks concerned of course about his well being. At that moment she also realizes there are two other people in the room.

Report Post Tip

McKnighter runs a hand into his hair, and plucks a hair. The tip has a slight gray tingle to it. He sighs, he is getting old.

"Maybe later, I'm not that old... After we finish dinner."

The waiter brings over drinks, a root beer for TBK, a cold beer for McKnighter. McKnighter thanks him and takes his drink and sips it.

"Not as bad as I thought it would be."

Report Post Tip

"You drink too much, Ill be driving on our way home. And dont worry i swear last time the house jumped in front of the car, and so did the eight people eating dinner inside." TBK says grabbing her root beer. "Some how I dont like this place, its so open."
