Women, Powerless? Started by: ChanelCruize on Dec 26, '09 14:33

To elaborate...we have in the past had - and still currently have - some extremely successful women at the top of cosa nostra within these shores. To open with "Women, Powerless?" is quite sensationalist and the answer is quite obvious.

Women, in many ways, have it much easier than our male counterparts. I seem to remember at least one thread in the past along the lines of "Are Women Taking Over The World?", in fact.

Report Post Tip

i got to be honest that women takes over this world, wow unlikely in this thing of ours more than half are successful, and that my friend is not the end rather a cycle that will never ends.

ChanelCruize, I am not sure how long you have been on these shores my friend but I can safely say to you. No, women do not get it any harder then men. The perfect example is the recently retired Godmother Marietta. Look at her success and she was a woman, she did a fantastic job and brought our lives to what it is now with help from MANY people.

She had her ups and downs but she surely had an easy life after she got a brilliant city at her side to do all her stuff. She could sit back and concentrate on the really important things.

So my answer to you is no. Women in this world of ours are just like the men only diffrent in their own ways.. (The women are more sweeter then the men (or atleast some of them))

I don't think Women are powerless whatsoever. It will be better for both genders to understand this as soon as possible and everything will get better..

Do you men not know anything? Who do you think got things rolling in Sicily? It was the women. I think some of you need to watch the Investigation Discovery Channel. There is this program on there about the mafia. Well, if you watch closely, the major players in some of the biggest Sicilian and Italian crime families are female. We have come into our own and can run rings around you men. Those women are ruthless with a capital R. They make Al Capone look like a kid playing in a sandbox.

Report Post Tip

Men may or may not know anything... but at least most of them know better than to spout craziness like this "Investigation Discovery Channel". Please remember where you are speaking and act accordingly.

Report Post Tip

What's so crazy about it? It talks about the real life things that have actually happened and are still happening that we do on here everyday. As for remembering where I am and acting accordingly I always do. I very rarely if ever comment on these posts. It's not my fault if you haven't seen that program. I just happened to comment on a real life situation as this game appears to be close to what I have studied in history from the 20's and 30's. With the men in prison the women are now the heads of their families and have to step up. Don't believe me do research and check it out for yourself.

History of the 20s and 30s? Try picking up a newspaper- we're hardly history yet.

It has hardly been an easy life for women in our world. There have been several occasions where women have been frowned upon and referred to as weaker. However, if you look over our world's most historical moments women have been behind a fair number of them, if not the majority.

Some women depend on their "assets" to get them further ahead. Others choose to slug it out like the boys do to earn their spot in our society. Whether it be the batting of eyelashes and the wiggle of a butt or the hard work and perseverance that others show it all proves that women are far from powerless in our society.

However, I did not realize their were history books written about this decade and the last already... Why do I feel as though I have just witnessed a tear in the space time continuum?

Report Post Tip

Hmmm...All you really have to do is point at Marietta as she lays down in her retirement home to see that woman are just as likely to be a "Someone"..it's very sexist to assume otherwise.

Report Post Tip

I do not think we woman have it harder off or i hope not. I expect that we are not to be judged according to gender but by personality and loyalty. Men may think they can control us but its quite the reverse.

Report Post Tip

...earlier she was approached by a man who said to her "Because you are a woman, you will never be anything but a sidekick". After Chanel gave that man a "lesson" he will never forget she thought to herself, if he thinks that, how many other people think that? How many other people think that because your a woman in this world of ours, you wiull never be anything.

No I do not feel that women are at a disadvantage in This Thing of Ours, as is evident by our history and current hierarchy. I also do not believe that anyone approached you and said anything of the sort. I believe that this is a completely fabricated scenario. I will keep my opinion of your motives to myself, but to answer your question women have all the same opportunities if not more than men do in Our World.
