| Being asked to Jump Ship | Started by: Knight on Dec 07, '07 13:14 |

That is completely different, He wasnt at war. It's not like they can go down with the ship, until they find out who killed him as he tried to kill them. |

| But it is not far from the same thing. War or not: If your leader dies, it is up to you to keep on living. :| | |

| Jump ship? The very idea is laughable. I've stood by various CL's. All the way from Mancini, to Micky Finn, to Ruiner etc. I'll stay with my CL til I can't no more. My son will come carry on if need be. Jumping ship, in my opinion needs to get you whacked. Simple. But what do I know? | |

You know fucking loyalty. When ever your leader is wacked by another person, you owe it to them to stand the fuck by them. I can't beleive people even look at the pro's of jumping ship. Scares me and i hope it scares their leader aswell. |

Ok imagine this, Your sitting in a coffeeshop with your family, Your hitsquad even, All chilling having some banter, and a car speeds up the road and guns down everyone sitting next to you. Your standing there with your dead family members beside you, and the car swings round and comes over to you, Pulls up and the window rolls down, "Oi Lad, Come with us, Were going round the corner in a min for your boss!" Anyone that considers getting in, Shouldnt be in this world. |

Very true. I had this when my grandfather was with discoduck. I had more than one person telling me to defect and fight against him. While he may have done some things I wouldn't do as a leader, he was still my boss and I stood next to him until I was gunned down. Had he died before myself though I probably would have joined one of the other families(not the ones that told me to leave, for at that time they would have been the enemy). I'm not suggesting that defecting to the enemy is good. All I am saying is that you must be able to move on if your leader passes away. Not everyone is rogue material, and quite frankly I think going rogue is dishonorable in its self. Families are for those who are authed. No one else. |

| Agreed should you be left standing in the aftermath of a war that claims the life of your boss you can certainly move on with your life with another family and I agree as well that going rogue holds a level of dishonor. | |

This is one of those arguments that where every situation is different, i think from earner on you should stay with your family. But if you are a goomba, why would you leave your family as it will only take another 2 days or so to get back to where your father was. I myself would never jump ship, only if it where to keep on fighting but with a little protection along with that, like joining your allies. If you join an ally of a war i find this to be perfectly acceptable and you are still fighting for your previous boss, well in your own mind anyway. I count myself very lucky to be on any ship, and the longer im on it the more i love it, so even if i where to jump ship, i would see myself going, this is not how so and so did it. |

My point Being in my last Speech is that the Pth we've chosen has a Risk an i dont want my friends Risking there lives for me anyway all my Speeches has been About Revenge my Answer to the question first asked is i think those who stay and die with there Familys should hailed as Heroes People who join there and betray there deserve to be hunted down like Animals and Any family that houses them should be Hunted aswell as for the 3rd option i wouldnt Recomend it but you should not blame people for chosing it i mean when your staring death in the Face it must be hard to make the right Desicion |

Consider this devil's advocate if you will... This thing of ours takes all different shapes and sizes and that's what makes life interesting, we're all... most of us... are aware of the unwritten rules, hypothetical codes of conduct, principles and ethics that shape our day to day existence and it's how we each individually interpret these ideas that gives this lifestyle its unique essence. We're all on a learning curve, all aiming for progression, no matter if you're a mere associate or at an elevated level we all have decisions to make that could rapidly bring forth death, it's this intensity that keeps us close to the fire. It's deeply concerning that some people's beliefs are so set in stone they're willing to sacrifice themselves and any potential future for artificial theories, they can't see the woods through the trees, aren't willing to make the plays and live to see another day, it's almost as if they're aware they'll be getting a second chance and that's not right. I've seen associates scorned for jumping ship and I've seen the community turn a blind eye, there is no set procedure and it'll forever continue to be this way, it is also dependent on the role you play and the type of association you're representing, it is more likely for an advisor rather than an enforcer to "jump ship" as it were, perhaps because of a physical lack of threat or simply a better understanding of the situation. Another issue would be strength of the bond forged with the current alliance, whether part of a family, syndicate or simple outfit/crew has to be a deciding factor, they aren't the same. When all is said and done you need to be able to look yourself in the mirror and within your conscience and if you find it's clean then you're at least halfway there. |

Well, I think it is unanimous that you cannot jump shit during a war. Its unnacceptable, completelly unacceptable. Its betrayal in your friends, the ones that offered you protection and worked with you. Though when your boss died and you already did everything you could to try to avoid that, I don't see any problem in joining a neutral/friendly family. Never the one that made the takedown, of course, those must be seen as enemies till death. That is so much true, that when a leader is killed and loads of unsponsoreds are laid on these streets the usual order of the current crew leaders is to forbid any WACKing at the remaining survivors. What is that for? To just watch them earn money? Because they can't rank up past earner, they can't Buy an HQ because that is going rogue, the extreme disrespect on this streets nowdays. So, they ask their members to not shot so they can be shot at? Since we already discussed in another corner just a few days ago about rules and that are the CLs who makes them, and obviously considering they are reasonable, sensible, logical and coherent, if they say you can't shot they expect the survivors to join other families and maintain their lives. |
