Nothing can replace heart, the beginning years of Sammy Started by: SammyEric on Mar 23, '16 19:54

"Alright listen up! I'm gonna check out this baker Jackie boy talked to, Sammy I trust you to take my truck and drive to HQ and pick up some guns we'll need'em Karmen I'll let you decide what you need to ok? I'd wish ya luck kid but it seems like you already have enough, now get goin' kid!" I explained to them, "Hey Karmen your boyfriend is in trouble so lets get him back alright?" I said before beginning to walk to the bakery.

Karmen stopped YodaTheMaster and said, "Let me get this clear, okay? Jackie is not my boyfriend. I'm the Left Hand Woman of The Silent Few and Jackie is family to me. That's all that needs to be said. So, now that that's clear, good luck, okay? Find the baker, see what you can find out, report back to me what you find. Sammy, good luck getting the guns but I'm sure you'll be okay. Me, I'll try to call the Candy Shop on Main Street and see if they have heard anything from Jackie. Now, get going guys."

"The baker meeting was what led to Jackie being chosen to transport the liquor. That meeting was yesterday. The puzzling thing about this is that although the baker knew that Jackie would be doing the job, how did the baker know that Jackie was already up and rolling before the meeting time with YodaTheMaster and myself?" Sammy ponders who this 'baker' could be and if indeed the midget that Yoda threw outside was trying to get revenge on the 4 of them. "Was Jackie involved in the liquor racket before this particular job? Any enemies that might have been made? Why would a baker that wanted private booze transported want to be part of plan to rat Jackie out," Sammy asked out loud to Karmen and YodaTheMaster.

Karmen watched as SammyEric turned around and talked a bit more about how Jackie got involved in the first place. With what he said, it all made a bit more sense. She said, "I'm not sure when Jackie got involved with the liquor racket or why but it seems like Jackie wanted to do it on his own and got into more than he could handle. I'm not sure what baker is even involved, where to find him, or if baker is just a code word.. Really, until we find Jackie, we don't know much more than the tiny bit he told us! Which is the shitty part.. Because I'm not sure where to even go to find him.."

She thought for a bit, pacing back and forth across her office, then said, "Alright, we'll stick with the plan. You go get some guns, Sammy. I always have my Colt M1911 on me at all times, and extra ammo in my purse, so I'm set. Yoda is on his way to find the baker that Jackie was involved with in this thing, and I'm going to call the Candy Shop guy to see what he says. I have a feeling the cashier was the one that got this job rolling for Jackie with that little white piece of paper that Jackie gave to his partner, the midget guy.. If I have to, I'll greet the guy in person. Maybe a gun in his face will get him talking. I'll be back to my office in less than an hour, Sammy, if you want to meet me back here. Not sure how long Yoda will be but I'm sure he'll call my office telephone if he finds anything."

Once again, fear gripped Sammy as he pounded on the HQ door. He hoped that one day he could knock on this door without having anything to fear. "Aren't you the kid that YodaTheMaster stuck up for," the person who opened the door said with a strange look. "Yeah....the one that we instructed to help Jackie move the booze. Small-time work really, but that's how we survive. Tell me, what the heck are you doing back here so soon? Shouldn't you be working right now on those barrels of booze?" he also asked. "Jackie never made it. Cops had the beat on him, and I need...," Sammy gulped "Guns from you guys." The man did not seem convinced. "Eh, think I will pass on giving you guns." Sammy felt a rush of anger come over him. "Listen you wrinkled up crumb faced maggot, I was sent here by Karmen and Yoda, call them yourself if you got a beef with this, but I ain't leaving here without guns! Also, if something happens to me, then what exactly have you lost? Not a thing!" The man seemed impressed and authorized the guns and ammo be loaded into the truck that Yoda sent Sammy in. Sammy sped away, hoping to reach the other two as fast as he could.

Sammy burst in the door and said "Karmen, I have the stuff. Maybe some cold-hard steel will get a few things done! What's the plan?"

"Listen pal I really don't wanna ask again...Where is your boss?...nothing...well you lived good life." I told one of the guards before blowing his brains on the floor. "Look I read the sign on the front the customer is always right so...DO I REALLY NEED TO ASK AGAIN!" I ordered before a burly man appeared and told me "I know who you are and I know your friend, but the best revenge always takes planning yeah I sold him out told the fuzz where'd he go and they caught him and the funny thing is...you can't do shit..." and before he could finish I offed him "Listen fatass their are two kinds of people I hate liars and snitches and it's your lucky day, you happened to be both." after this I found the phone and called Karmen's office. "The fatass didn't know when Jackie would arrive so it was his fault he was late but the cops did know where he was going and I didn't get where Jackie's located, so in the end Jackie was set up and the baker would've been free to move his liquor without police involvement also Jackie has some explaining to do."

Karmen was shocked to see SammyEric back so quickly, and she said, "Wow! Good to see you back so fast! Did you get the guns? Hopefully there was no trouble.. I'd be more than willing to vouch for you if needed.."

She got up from her chair and filed the paperwork she was filling out into her filing cabinet, then turned back around to Sammy. She looked at him for a moment then said, "I still need to call the Candy Shop cashier, see if he knows anything.. If you're willing to wait a bit for that."

Sammy nodded and she picked up her phone to call the cashier. When he answered, she waited for him to say hello? a second time before saying, "Where is Jackie? What do you know?"

He was silent for a few seconds before replying, saying, "I don't know anything, Lady. Who's Jackie?"

She laughed and said, "I know you know Jackie. I saw you give him a piece of paper last night.. What do you know? You better tell me or I'll be down there in a heartbeat to put a gun to your temple."

The guy replied, "Okay I do know Jackie, but I don't know exactly what's happened to him.. I don't know if I should discuss this over the phone but.. He said he was part of a liquor transport deal that was taking liquor from The Strip to Paradise, working with some Baker guy.. I'm not quite sure who tipped off the pigs but someone did.. Most likely the Baker.. My guess is he's locked up in Paradise.. You know liquor's illegal.. And they punish people for being involved with it.. That's where I'd check.."

She hung up the phone without saying goodbye, then turned to Sammy and said, "The guy says the transport deal was tipped off to the police by the Baker that Jackie was working with.. What do you say we take a trip to Paradise after YodaTheMaster gets back with his info?"

Just when she finished that sentence, her phone rang. She answered and YodaTheMaster started rolling off info, the most important being that the Baker tipped the police and that Jackie had to take the fall for the whole thing, while the Baker got off free and was able to do the transport on his own with no issues.

She gave a sigh and said, "Well at least you killed the rat, I guess.. So, Yoda, what do we do? Head to Paradise and try to see if we can get Jackie out? Then go from there?"

Report Post Tip

"Alright head off to Paradise and see if can get him while I stay back and "clean up" the mess our little dough boy made...I'll see ya in a bit." I said before I hung up. "Now what shall I do with you and the survivors?...Oh I know! Just lay still and...eww haha! I always knew I'd make the "cut"." I was a beautiful monster in my eyes. Now on to save Jackie! "Oh ha I guess they were "cut ups" hahaha!".

Report Post Tip

Karmen hung up the phone when YodaTheMaster said goodbye, then turned to SammyEric and said, "Well, we're going to head to Paradise and see what we can do about getting Jackie out of jail. I think we should take the truck Yoda had you drive, so that we have all the guns with us. Whenever you're ready, I'm ready as well. I'll leave a note saying I'm out of office."

Report Post Tip

Shortly after getting off the phone with Yoda, she received another phone call from someone that said, "I'm sorry, but we couldn't let Yoda continue to be up in our business over here. He killed all of my men.. All of them.. So I choked him out.. I hope you find your friend Jackie. He was good to me, without realizing that it would be me in the end that got him in trouble.. Guess he trusted the wrong midget. Goodbye."

Karmen's eyes were wide when she hung up the phone and turned to SammyEric to tell him that Yoda was dead.. She wasn't quite sure what to do about that part of things but she knew that she and Sammy still needed to go free Jackie from jail..

She said, "Alright well.. Let's go get Jackie.. We'll worry about Yoda's part in this later on, okay?"

With that, they headed out to the truck loaded down with guns to make their way to Paradise and free Jackie. Hopefully they had enough time afterwards to get in on the liquor transport, maybe even make it so they were the only ones that got the profit.. The midget had to die..

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $50,000 Tip

I stepped out of the funeral home and asked "What the hell? Next time someone expects me to bleed out they better make sure and stand there to watch me die.". I ended up going to Paradise since that's where I grew up.

Report Post Tip

Sammy let a lot of feelings, mostly anger, engulf his mind. "Let's go get Jackie, not a cop in this country wants a piece of me right now!" Eric hopped in the driver's seat and opened the passenger's door for Karmen. "Relax," Karmen said, trying to get Sammy to focus good enough to drive them to Paradise. "So, tell me your story lady. How does an attractive woman such as yourself get into the crime beat?"...

Report Post Tip

As I arrived I heard multiple gunshots from the east and I began to approach them and when I found the source I was greeted by two officers and apparently there was a shootout in progress. So I did what any curious individual would do go around and observe from a safe distance.

Report Post Tip

In jail, Jackie knew almost everybody there, mostly people that were friends of his, arrested from the police like him. He watched as all the prisoners gathered around, and talked to one another.

A man walks up to Jackie, and says,"It's good to see you old friend." Jackie looks over at the man, and says,"I didn't expect to see you here Alfie, I see they got you too." He nods his head in disappointment. Alfie was a very tall man, and had a large amount of facial hair. He was a Jewish man, and was someone you didn't want to get into a fight with. Jackie and Alfie went way back. They met each other when they were just kids, and kept in communication ever since. When Jackie went off to World War one, Alfie was working in a bakery, until he finally was able to open his own. Alfie was very loyal to Jackie.

Alfie noticed that the once happy, and always laughing Jackie wasn't the same when he returned. During the war Jackie was known as a sapper, a volunteer digging covert, very treacherous tunnels in order to place enormous amount of explosives under the enemy positions, a tactic used several times in the war to made a devastating effect. Jackie had a major personality change, he seemed more tired, and even more so careless of what happened around him. Alfie would see that Jackie, would have nightmares when he slept, and wake up in a panic. This concerned Alfie, but he never mentioned anything to Jackie, and Jackie would never talk about what happened during the war, or the people he met along the way.

Karmen thanked SammyEric for opening the door for her, then took her seat, telling him to calm down so they wouldn't wreck and die. When he asked her what made her get into the crime business she said, "Well it kind of runs in the family I guess.. So many generations of mine have been in the Mafia, like my mom, my grandma, my great-grandma, my great-great-grandma and so on. I suppose I just followed their lead, you know?"

She smiled when remembering all of her family that she grew up with. Her mom was always so happy, always smiling, always cracking jokes.. She hoped to be like her mom someday, if not surpass her! Her grandma, although she only remembered little tidbits, was such a lovely woman.. She remembered that her grandma was the one that taught her to ride a bike!

She continued, "I don't remember my father though.. He left when I was just a few months old, according to my mom. So, screw him, basically. My mom did a good job raising me on her own! She instilled strength, honor and integrity in me, and that's all I could really ask for."

Laughing a little, she said, "I know all about your story though, Eric. It was plastered all over the papers! Why didn't you hit the guy harder?!"

Report Post Tip

"Well...," Sammy said, trying to come up with a good excuse for not finishing off the man in Kansas City. "I guess I don't think clearly when I am caught off guard. He caught me and I just went into panic mode. I wasn't thinking about killing a man, I was thinking about saving my own ass. I thought he was dead and I deposited him in the field and hired someone to drive me to LV." Sammy wished HIS family had a cool history like Karmen's. "I bet your folks dealt with REAL bull-crap, with prohibition really kicking up during their time," Sammy asked. The truck made the last turn to exit towards Paradise. "Turn here, then take a left at the sign. Then straight through until you reach a clearing. The prison will be up there in District 3," Karmen said. "What's the plan when we get there?" Sammy asked.

Report Post Tip

As I was watching, Bladedrevived heard a car coming down the road and thought he should hide but instead of hiding I ran into the road and was nearly hit! "Watch where you're going asshole!" I heard coming from the car a tomboyish female voice yell at me and in turn I said "I don't know why but for a second there I wasn't thinking and I ran out but just so I can remember...Whats your name?"

Report Post Tip

Karmen thought for a bit and said, "Well I guess you did the right thing, not killing the guy. Murder is pretty hard to take sometimes. Especially when they aren't in this life.."

She smiled and said, "To be honest, I don't know all that they dealt with but I know they did it. That's what keeps me trudging along too. Knowing that they went through similar things."

She told Sammy the directions to the jail, then when he asked her what the plan was she said, "Well I'm hoping that he has a bond set, because if so I'll pay it and get him out. I brought some money with me so that's what I'm aiming for. If not, I'm not exactly sure how to go about getting him out other than buying a lawyer for him!"

Report Post Tip

"With all do respect, why did we load up on guns if we expected this to a about lawyers and bail?" Sammy said, hoping he hadn't upset the woman in the passenger's seat. Then an awkward looking man stepped out into the road, causing Sammy to think fast and swerve around him. Karmen yelled out the window at the pedestrian, who yelled something garbled back at them. Already angry over a lot of things, Sammy asked Karmen "you want me to turn around and give that jack-ass a good thrashing?"
