I'm not sure whether this is a request for a new forum, or that an existing one isn't quite being used properly (News & Announcements perhaps?). Either way, I'd quite like to see a dedicated MR change log in place. Basically any change that is game-related, code-related, bug-related announced in the one place and left there permanently, perma-locked and in 'implemented sequence' as a historical reference.

As it is at the moment, it seems to be the case that sometimes we'll see things pop up in OOC, sometimes we'll see something in N&A and sometimes we'll see nothing but hear about IRC chat from #dl (clearly not ideal). The things that pop up in OOC often seem to be stickied for a while, then either left to sink or removed completely. I'm not sure, maybe there is a procedure in place already (I can't spot a pattern really) or maybe there's a reason a change log doesn't really exist, but I think it'd be very useful for the userbase. It may add a slight overhead for the coders, but I don't imagine it'll add much to fire off a quick change log entry with changes.

This is inspired by the confusion in here - http://mafiareturns.com/comm/thread/84803/page2 - but is something that's often crossed my mind when I'm hunting around for an old announcement and often can't find it.

I would absolutely LOVE to see this implemented.

Most of the "Game Change" threads eventually get moved to the help section. A quick search for "Game Change" or "Change" will show all available threads that have been posted. For the most part all changes are posted, although a few seem to slip through occasionally (would be the same even if it was a separate log).

That'll explain why they keep disappearing then! ;)
