Harry steps out into the streets and lets out a rip-roaring belch

What? Were you expecting a grand entrance, ala some noble swine? Why would I attempt to have any dignity in my conduct? It's not the thing to do these days! I'm a modern man. All that respect and dignity malarkey is sooooo 1930's.

With that in mind, let me present to you all...

The Funeral Asshat Hall of Fame!

The concept is as old as La Cosa Nostra, itself, but not just limited to our secret society. It has its roots in the church. A funeral chapel is consecrated ground, where our Holy Father takes his children from this mortal coil back to the promised land. All the dead's sins die with him, and the door is open for family and loved ones to pay their final respects and say their final goodbyes.

Both good men and bad men eventually die. The bad often die as a result of their misdeeds. It is the ultimate and final punishment...or is it?

Honorary mention: LaughingJack! For his kind sentiments at the funeral of DiscoDuck!

EXACTLY what you deserve. burn furiusly in hell.

Runner Up: YouSucked! For his brief words in the funeral of Iron_Lung!

lol RIP

Grand Prize Winner: TylerDurden! For his loving eulogy at the funeral of Pop-Eyez!

You fucking Judas. I hope you rot in hell.

What is remarkable about our winners tonight is not just that they are all STILL ALIVE, but that our Grand Prize Winner was deemed fit enough a mafioso to branch out on his own and claim a city, and the Runner-Up was a RHM at the time of his entry.

I am absolutely and utterly disgusted that this sort of conduct is apparently acceptable these days. Mafiosi are different from common street thugs in that they are organized and have a moral code of conduct. They are respectful and carry themselves with integrity.

Do these traditions not mean anything anymore? Have we been reduced to lowlife, slurring, drunken bums who barge into funerals and spew shit?

YES! WE HAVE! Whether you like it or not, there it is, staring you in the face.

Normally this is where the Pig would go off on a philosophical rant about the inappropriateness of this conduct, but I am not he. If you can't see what is wrong with this conduct, and can't understand why for years it has meant an immediate death sentence without exception, you never will.

There are no words that can describe how pathetic this lot is, both those who engage in this conduct, and those who condone it by not punishing offenders, making offenders the second highest ranked person in the family, and giving auth to someone who knows so little about this thing of ours, that they don't realize this is conduct unbecoming a mafioso. I've said this before...it takes more than brains and literacy to run a family. You must also possess an understanding of how things work. Apparently Mr.Durden fooled the city Bosses into thinking he knew something about this thing of ours, merely because he is able to form a coherent sentence.

The future is in the hands of our leaders. They are responsible for maintaining our traditions and enforcing certain standards of conduct. How can we expect them to live up to this responsibility if they are, in fact, the ones committing the deplorable conduct?

All I can say, is shame on you.

It is true that funerals are supposed to be respectful and all that, And most people are respectful, where as, some people are just plain rude to say it, with no excuse but that they enjoy the light it brings to them and the drama of it as well.

But every so often there come people who are such... Traitorous jerks that they will attract these foul statements, people who's funeral's are attended, to make sure the guys actually dead, with a stake threw his heart... I'm not saying that each of these statements are ok, just that sometimes you can't help but piss on some peoples graves and dance in their ashes.

It's also true that some people need to bring duct tape with them when they go to funerals, cause they can't seem to react respectfully to the site of the man/woman who's Treachery was so damaging to them. I'm pretty sure all of us celebrated at least one or two deaths, or pissed on one or two graves, though not while the people were still laying flowers.

No matter how traitorous a person is. When they die , whatever they have done has been paid in full. There is no need to go into anyones funeral and speak ill of the dead. If you want a person to know your discontent just don't appear at there funeral at all.

*Shruges*

Like I said, some funerals you go to so you know it's not an empty coffin. Others you go to out of respect for a fallen comrade... But every so often some one pisses people off so much that they wish they could resurrect them just to take turns killing him again, as in the case of Tyler...

Smiles a cold grim smile

Trust me, I myself was shaking to much to say a word at Pop Eyez funeral, though I was thinking a thousand curses and half wishing to spit on the guys cold face. After what he did? It might not piss every one off as much, but I know it pissed quite a few of my family off, and embarrassed others, it doesn't surprise me that some one let their heart do the talking instead of their mind. No matter who it was, I know at least 30 other people were/are thinking the same exact thing about the guy...
Report Post Tip
Sure he did a bad thing, but after all how did he get into the position to do what he did?

All the blame cannot be put on the deceased.
Report Post Tip
It's true, It can't be placed on one persons shoulders...

But how many times has some one pulled the wool over your eyes? and didn't it piss you off?

*Slevin steps forward, having been listening patiently from the back of the crowd.*

"I must say, I've always regarded funerals as a no-go area in terms of disrespect. If a person is dead, they have paid the ultimate price. As tempting as it may be to get one final 'fuck you' in, the last word as they say, we should all be above that childish antic.

A funeral is a place for family and loved ones to grieve, and say goodbye to their recently deceased. Don't forget, even the most evil men in history had families, Mothers and Fathers, possibly sons or daughters, maybe even a grieving widow that want to be able to say goodbye. For someone to come busting into the church mouthing off is totally out of order, for anyone, even the lowest rungs on the ladders of our society."

Well I overheard TylerDurdans comment last night and at the time couldn't find the words to express how disappointed I was to find a Crew Leader, someone who should be a man of respect show such disrespect at a funeral. I noticed that someone else commented on how Mr Durden would be unable to punish those who showed disrespect as he is leading by example.

When he went bold there was the promise of some new life, the chance to get a CL who would try and change a few things and be active at the same time. If this is the way he is thinking about changing things then mistakes have been made in his authing.

In times gone back disrespect at funerals was not tollerated by anyone, no matter what rank the offender held. I can only hope that Mr Durden can reflect on his words and prove that he is more than a petty thug.
Report Post Tip
Whilst I've never been one to cry over spilt milk, or harp on about things which are in the past; I feel this is an exception, I cannot stand by as an old fashioned guy without making some sort of comment.

I'll give you a lesson in my beliefs. as I've said, I'm an old fashioned man, and I believe there is a Heaven and a Hell by the Lord's own decree. Judecca, the innermost circle of hell, is reserved for traitors against benefactors.

Is that not enough? I think it is. The sins have died with the traitor and he will pay the price for all eternity. Such desecration in funerals achieves nothing; two wrongs will, and never will, make a right.

But...No. Never. There is no but, there is no excuse for this kind of behaviour.
Report Post Tip
I've been in life for awhile now and I have not seen such disrespect at a funeral ever. Funerals are a place to give your respect. Honoring the dead as its the only way out of this "thing of ours". The disrespect shown by the individuals that did it surely have no respect. In my opinion they fallen below the term "rat". I honestly don't know why these people are still around.

Hey lets not go shooting our Mouths sure those Comments were Extremly Disrepectful be we should blurt aload of comments about whether they should be killed lets just hope they learned from this thread the scared Meaning of Funerals
Report Post Tip
sorry i meant to says Sacred but i pronounced wrong

"Frank, nobody is shooting their mouths off here, I can see the original speakers point entirely. Leaders are supposed to lead by example, we hear it time and time again from them all, that funerals should be respected. A leader disrespecting a funeral is a major issue for many people, as it goes completely agains the beliefs of the majority of people around here..."
Report Post Tip
hmm i am just a Goomba not long into this Life i guess i should take your word Mr Kelvera
Report Post Tip
Ach, it's a difficult old one here, and I must admit to a mixture of emotions.

Yes, we all fight against disrespect at funerals, and I've always tried to remain silent if I have nothing to say, but at the same time I have always tried to be understanding when other people have found themselves unable to keep quiet about something that has floored them.

I challenge each and every one of you to look at your own behaviour:

- Have you never spoken out of turn in a moment of anger?

- Have you never wished you were able to erase something already said?

Alas, in this community, our words are recorded for all to see if uttered in certain locations.

Yes, Tyler vented his understandable frustration in a place where it was not appropriate.

Bearing in mind the timing and circumstances, hand on heart, would none of you facing a personal and professional betrayal on this scale not utter a few words of comtempt? Chances are that I, or one of my family line has seem many of you do otherwise.

So, what to make of it?

Shocking discovery: Tyler is human, as we all are. Give the man a break.
Report Post Tip
I for one, have said things I've later come to regret, I think we all have. To live a life without speaking a word in anger or sadness is nigh on impossible. I have, however, always showed self restraint in the House of the Lord, and if I doubted for a second that I might not be able to, I've kept well away.
Report Post Tip
I too have never spoken ill in a house of the lord, nor have I ever spoken well in one. I generally start to hiss, spit and emit smoke upon crossing the threshold, so try to steer clear of the places now.
Report Post Tip
As an aside, for those in the know, when I finally head towards that great vegetable patch in the sky, don't drag me along to the church - just pop me in a mound of manure in the back yard. People are welcome to speak as ill or well of me as they want as long as the impressiveness of my moustache isn't called into question.
Report Post Tip
Anger leads to people acting out of character, and regretting what they've said shortly after. I'm sure this is relevant to Mr. Durden, and I personally can understand his actions. I'm not endorsing them, or saying they were right, but nor am I condemning them.

It's possible to say that he shouldn't have behaved that way but I can empathise with his situation and the rage that he clearly felt due to the betrayal.
Report Post Tip
Now I'm having difficulty understanding some people's position on this subject...

You say that this fella had the basic right to a funeral, so his family could mourn him in peace?

In another world, this "man" would never have had a funeral - hell, he'd be on the missing list for the next 30 years with his various body parts scattered throughout the country for the crimes he committed against his Family!

But, alas, we didn't have the option to do this. So he had a funeral, and Tyler said his piece.

I always thought that the idea of a funeral was to celebrate the life of an individual...so tell me, what was to celebrate here?

Not a damn lot, that's for sure!
