There are no exceptions in my opinion. To excuse one is to excuse all, and that is just... err... inexcusable (FU I lost my thesaurus). When you become the figurehead of a family you lose a lot of freedoms (one of which, as Mr. McTavish knows all too well, is sleep). You are no longer acting for yourself, but in the terms of pregnancy guides, you are now eating for two... or 30+ in this case. *McHugh clears his throat.* When you decide to take up an important role in the community, you have to make sacrifices. One of which is to try to teach everyone with some modicum of respect. |

| SuperSpud I have looked at my actions and yes it has happened to me to speak out of turn and to speak out of anger.The difference though is I am not a respectable leader. A leader is held to a higher standard then the rest of this community. | |

This I understand and I appreciate your honesty. My point is simple really, that in the grander scheme of things this feels like it is being blown out of all proportion. As an aside, are you also telling me that every leader that we have now, or have had in the past, is a shining example of deportment? I think not. Anyhoo, I shall hush on the matter as, simply put, I'm somewhat amazed by the reaction from some circles. Anyone would think that all gathered here are whiter-than-white, or that everyone knows everything there IS to know about the circumstances leading up to this. Somehow, I suspect that neither assertion is accurate. |

That being said, I can see your point, of course, as you put it across in your normal wonderful way, but I have to say that I feel a leader should behave in a manner that sets an example to his/her family. On the other hand, people make mistakes, we all do, we just have to learn from them. I can see both sides of this." |

Well I'm not certain, but I don't see any of the other leaders charging into LA to smite him with the righteousness of respectability." "So it's a moot point really - even if we discuss it til we're blue in the face. The fact remains that Signore Durden, whether he wants to admit it or not, had a lapse. Said lapse, upset the whole fucking apple cart but the kicker is, that no one is going to do anything about it. "Is it fair? No, not really. But since when has this life been fair? Some leaders do things we don't like. It does happen. And most of our memories are long enough to know of other instances where we may have not been too happy about the actions of boldsuits. Even so, life goes on. "So in parting, I'm tempted to throw in a predictable "if you don't like it, rank up and do something about it", but instead I shall smoke a cigarette and wonder why the fuck my plane is still delayed. |
