| Taxes/Consequences? | Started by: ChristianGato on Aug 01, '16 20:13 |

I've been playing with the taxes system for a while, and want to make use of it, and Payday. I notice however that, though there is a degrees RP involved to chase down those who do not pay, there seems to be a pretty simple way of sending up a lower, random amount, that could quite easily be perceived as a true amount, with no real consequences. If I'm to make use of the tax and payday systems, roll out a full crew structure and financial projection based on it all with bells and whistles etc, I need to know it's going to work and not be something that I have to discard. There is a factor of relationships between members to consider, earning trust and chasing payments, however it is very, very easy to slip under the radar and simply pay less than you need to, while claiming all the payday you want. Am I correct in that there is no way of knowing if someone is over or under paying, or does the game compensate this at all? If it doesn't, I propose it could do. If someone is consistently paying less tax than they should be, might we consider it having a knock on with their success rates? I mean, the boss is pissed he's missing cash from somewhere, he's got people on the streets trying to keep a tight grip on the system, it's making people nervous, there's going to be a knock on effect. An active player will be making more cash from their crimes and deals from their gambling than less active, so it would be a blow not only to the player, but the operation as a whole if they started failing crimes, jail breaks, wacks. There is motivation for both member and Crew leader to educate and meet the requirements of the system in place, without directly revealing who. Unless they are careless with gambling or talk too much about their failures, but hey, that's how word travels anyway. |

The problem I find with this is if you fall under a crew leader who may not be up to par. They are content taking but never giving type of thing. This would dictate that people who are active would be getting a lot more of a headache to donate than those that aren't around as much. I don't like that idea. It means people are more slack on others when they really shouldn't be. I like that I can under pay a crappy leader if they bother to tax me. Perhaps I am sitting here and listening to speeches, and not actually knocking over the post office? I honestly don't want my leader talking to me about money. Given that I am an earner I doubt that will ever really happen but still remains that I dont think a leader is due a specific amount. Not all leaders spend the money on their hard workers but rather their RL friends. Its really a shame, but I think I should be entitled on my own to send up what I think is suitable. If its under, there is probably a reason for that. I think anything to do with taxes should be left as it is. You want taxes? Then trust your members are sending up properly, if they aren't, don't promote them. If you are close to your members, you'll already know what their activity is and where their focus is. |

I believe there have been numerous suggestions along similar lines. None of which garnered much support or positive input. |
