Squishy had asked for new CLs to be passed to him in advance of auth for some beta testing on something along these lines a short time ago.

After we tie up a few loose ends on our pending/todo list, we are going to roll out some code for new players to auto-join crews that have the option enabled.  When you guys know you are going to auth someone, mind sending a heads up to me so that I can discuss with new CLs to beta the option.

Haven't seen anything detailing the actual changes made yet... but I imagine it's along these lines.

I'm new to MR. I must say its very nicely done, I'm not that into RP at all. but I love the aspect it adds and am good at it once I get into it. i think there are attributes out there that can make this game one of the best ever, although it already is. however, moral of this post is to speak on the crew system. I just started 2 lives ago and got into crew that were wiped. 1 crew within 2 weeks and another with in days joining. although I survived the crew killing. I died because I wasn't able to find a crew before rebuild mode was over...I died with crew invite waiting on me smh... and NOW. I am leveling and enjoying myself but am in fear that I will be scraped soon. with ANY EXPLAINATION of what I did wrong or who was just having fun at my expense, because I surely can not pose a threat to much at that point. HELP lol

Once you become a legit target (so a week after a protection order expires after a crew leader falls, once you turn gangster without a family when rebuild mode isn't on, etc) anyone and everyone will be out to shoot you. You won't know who and you don't really need to ask why, it's because they want to. Killing a character improves their gun, so they're happy to get stronger at your expense.

That said, it's pretty easy to avoid (or everything up until joining a leader that dies is. That one is hard to predict and is simply part of the cost of doing business on these shores). 

If you're currently looking for an invite, there are lots of families recruiting (it hasn't hit a point that there were no open spaces available for a while now, to be honest). If you check out https://mafiareturns.com/news/localcrews.php you can see which ones have spaces available on the right hand side of the table. At the bottom of the page you can filter it even further and see which of those families have active members with recruitment rights available to them, so can go about inviting you right now. 

Feel free to mail any of the upper structures (the names that are bold or slanty on the online list) if you've any questions on recruitment. Even if it's a leader that doesn't have space available at the minute they'll be happy to chat to you and answer any questions you might have.
