| The Paragon Tower | Started by: Noto on Nov 10, '16 20:06 |

Downtown Detroit, corner of Brush street and E Congress St. After a sit down, and receiving an ok from KateLogan, I decided to move forward and invest in a vacant building. This building stood 12 stories, and had tremendous views of the water and all of Downtown Detroit. I set out and hired a big company to remodel the place, as well as make a few adjustments that I saw fit. Most of the building just needed to be cleaned and painted, the rest was all additions. Thanks to the backing of Ms. Logan and 75+ workers, the place came out looking like a dream. The day had finally came for the grand opening as Ms. Logan was by my side standing next to the red rope that stood in front of the two double door entrances. I watched as a large crowd gathered around just waiting for the rope to be opened. With Champagne in the hands of both me and Ms. Logan, I begin to make my grand opening speech. "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the grand opening of The Paragon Tower!. For a long time now this building stood vacant, taking away from the beauty this city has to offer. My intention when approaching Ms. Logan was to change that. I had also noticed that the great city of Detroit stood without any true luxurious Hotels!, which was shocking to me. But ladies and gentlemen I assure you that I am here today to change that!. When you walk through these doors you will be unleashed to a paradise you never thought existed!. But I know you all are anxious to enter so lets get this going!." The crowd cheers and claps, waiting to see the luxurious tower with their own eyes. Ms. Logan unclips the red rope and says with confidence "Welcome to paradise!, welcome to The Paragon Tower!."
As the guests make their way inside, they are immediately speechless by the sight of the large chandelier that was hanging above the grand foyer. Under the chandelier was a circular desk that stood in the very center of the large room, as you look to the right you see a pair of elevators that lead to all 12 floors, along with a piano that is slightly tilted in between the desk and the elevators. To the left you see an arch design doorway that leads to a bar. This bar was made of oak, with decorative glass shelves that aligned the wall behind it. You also spot pool tables for you to enjoy as well. As you head out the back right side of the hotel, you notice there are tables outside that stood inside a courtyard, overlooking the Detroit river in the distance. In this courtyard you see that the tables all have decorative table cloths, as well as fresh cut flowers. As you head back inside you read the sign in the foyer that displays all of the amenities that were offered. You notice on the 5th floor there is a meeting room,a ballroom and the managers office. 10th floor was a lounge area, filled with plenty of furniture and amazing views of Downtown Detroit. You also see on the 2nd floor was a spa, you think of all the great things you could do while spending the night, or nights. Finally you walk up to the lovely lady who is working behind the check in counter to ask about the room types. She greets you with a polite smile as she hands you a list of the rooms and accommodations. The Rooms (Note: all rooms have room service) Standard Room, floors 1-3 Guest Suite, floors 4-5 Executive Suite, floors 6-7 Presidential Suite, floors 8-10 Paragon Suite, floor 11 (Reservation only) room has it's own bar, as well as in room massage Penthouse, 12th floor (Reservation only) room has its own bar, as well as in room massage. Now that everyone seen the place, they all began to make their way back to the foyer to find a room, or to the bar to have a drink. Ms. Logan and I stood in the foyer with champagne in hand. I looked on as Ms. Logan was prepared to say a few words. I got the crowds attention one last time. "Ladies and gentlemen, I hope you all liked what you have seen so far. I want to welcome everyone to The Paragon Tower, and I hope you all enjoy your stay!. Before toasting I will now turn things over to Ms. Logan who would like to say a few words. Kate stepped up to the microphone, holding her flute of champagne in her left hand. Her hair was smooth and the slim black jacket gave off a professional air. Her voice was warm and excited as she addressed the local celebrities, investors, and officials that had attended this opening celebration. "I'd like to congratulate Noto on his new venture here; my money has obviously been well invested. And I plan on putting my money where my mouth is, as I've currently rented out the top floor for my own personal residence. I'm happy to say we're open for business to all- I just wouldn't recommend trying to sightsee up on the top floor!" The crowd chuckled, some more knowingly than others, as the party continued. |

Pardon me sir, I have a question or two Falcon stood at the counter, having more questions than answers, and a hankering need for a soft bed and a warm meal. This may come across as low brow, but that really isn't my intention. I've just recently took a job in this fair city, but I have no where to call home currently. I'm not positive about this, but I'm not sure that the boss is fond of me sleeping on the couch in the lobby. he paused, allowing the people behind the desk to chuckle at his misfortune. What I'm getting at is this, could I rent a ground level room for a week, maybe three? I'll pay up front if that will help sweeten the deal! |

I spot a familiar face standing at the check in counter. I approach the desk and gesture for one of the workers to hand me the keys to room 5. While the keys are handed off to me I glance at each one of the workers behind the counter. "This man came in for top quality service!, not to be laughed at!, make this the last time... everyone understand?." The workers nod and apologize. Before turning my attention to Falcon I tell the workers to apologize to him, and not to me... which they do immediately. I then tell Falcon to follow me, while walking I begin to speak with him. "My apologies for my employees back there, if that happens again please tell me. That being said its good to see you, hope your settling in here well. Don't worry about money right now, I am fairly new to Detroit as well. Take this key and make yourself comfortable. If you need to speak with me about anything, come see me in my office. I hand off the key to Falcon and let him get settled in as I get back to maintaining the Hotel. |

Kate bustles into the hotel. Her large, silent bodyguard, Jack, follows close behind carrying a couple bags. He glares a couple people milling around in the lobby until they exit. Kate waits patiently at the front desk for Noto, knowing he should be around at any minute. |

Coming off the elevator, I spot Ms. Logan waiting for me at the front desk. I make my way past the piano and go to walk around the counter, as this happens a heavy set guy bangs into me, he has a cigar in on hand, and a glass of scotch in the other which ends up all over my suit jacket. The Foyer turns their attention to us as the glass shatters on the floor. Me and the man stare each other down for a few seconds, but before it escalated into a big problem Ms. KateLogan walks over to me with a couple napkins. She whispers to me softly "this is not the time or place!" After the words are uttered to me I crack my neck slowly and calm down a bit. The man puts the cigar in his mouth and chuckles slightly while saying "better you then me eh?." The two goons who were with him start chuckling as well. All three of the men walk off, I turn towards piano man and tell him to keep playing. Before Ms. Logan can respond a man walks over to me and says "Don't mind him, he's always like that, his names Harry Walsh! He's in with the Irish mob, he was in the papers several times." I begin to dab the boos from my jacket, I look at the man and say "thank you for the info, you know him?." He replies "heavens no sir, just a man who reads the paper a lot, and never forgets a face... good day." I continue to try and dry myself off as well as calm down. |

Kate pulls Noto behind the desk into his office, tossing a couple more napkins at him as he heads to the chair behind his desk. She slides into the chair across from him; Jack stands outside the office door. "Well, that was fun. Kinda wanted to see you fight that guy... but we've talked about anger management, Noto." |

"Well Ms. Logan, good thing you were here... because if not I would have used a piece of that shattered glass and slit that guys throat!. But like you said we need to work on anger issues." I light a smoke, inhaling then exhaling slowly. "I'm sure me and the chucky Irishmen will meet again, but in the meantime we have some business to discuss don't we?. So I had this idea, it will take a family effort... but if done right, it can be a big payday for all of us." I see that I had peaked Ms. Logan's interest, so I continue. "I was thinking of planning a score!...a bank, one with minimal security. However there will be a vault involved so we need a good plan, or someone who knows how to get in one. Now if you feel like its a go we can slowly but effectively plan." I wait for a response from Ms. Logan while sitting in my office chair. "By the way Ms. Logan, you want a drink?. And just know that the scotch I'm wearing is not an option." I smirk after the humorous remark. |

Kate raises an eyebrow at the throat-slitting talk. "Yea... definitely need to be careful of your emotions, Noto.... but I do like this bank idea. Let me do something thinking about that. And yea, I'll have a drink. What do you have... other than that scotch?" |

Shuffling through the cabinet I begin naming the drinks to Ms. Logan "Whiskey, Gin, Vodka, some red wine, and oh look at that I do have scotch!." I take out two glasses and wait for Ms. Logan to decide on her beverage of choice. |

"Wine, actually. A rare choice for me... but now that I'm sophisticated, one I've been turning to more frequently. I also wanted to discuss my penthouse with you. Jack here... She stuck a thumb toward her giant bodyguard outside the office door. ... has been able to handle everything so far, along with my other security? But there've still been a few people who just come up to the top floor to say hello to me. Any way we could put some kind of code on the elevator or something to make it harder to reach me, unless I want them to?" |

I pour a glass of wine for Ms. Logan, and one for myself as well. I take a seat and give Ms. Logan her drink. "I'm sure Jack is doing a great job. I had no idea people were still going to your penthouse, I think we made it clear not to go up there unless you're invited. To be honest I haven't even seen the penthouse, only went it was in development stage. I can't see a keynote being a problem, I will speak to one of the maintenance workers first thing in the morning. So how is the penthouse treating you?, other then unwanted guests." I sit back and take a sip of wine. |

Kate grinned. "It's pretty perfect, thanks. Too much room, perhaps, but that's a good problem to have. The bar, the hot tub, and the regular massages are a nice touch. Certainly a lot to get used to, particularly considering how I've lived most of my life." |

"Yea you handle yourself very well, almost to well. I don't know anything about your past but I would say you took care of yourself from a young age. But you are right about the extra space, better to have to much room then not enough right?." I take another drink of wine. "So I'm thinking we install something that requires a key, when you turn the key it will bring you to your penthouse." |

"That sounds perfect to me, Noto. Make a few copies and let me know when you have them? Perhaps drop them off tomorrow, if you can get them made that quickly?" Standing she drains her wine and cracks her neck. "For now, I think I need to call it a night." |

"Very well Ms. Logan, pleasure speaking with you. I will have the keys for you tomorrow, be sure to let me know about the job I discussed with you earlier." I turn slightly and face the liquor cabinet. "I got something to take care of before I get those keys to you, I will make good use of that bottle of scotch." I lean back and smirk. "Have a good night Ms. Logan." |

Thomas had been among the few present when Mr. Walsh and Noto had collided. Hearing mention of the Irish mob, Thomas' head turned and followed Mr. Walsh into the elevator. He scoffed and grumbled to himself, "Fockin' Ulster wick." He had a right mind to follow the so-called Irishman and put a bullet in his head, but knew it might bring down some heat on Kate and her Paragons. He instead, memorized the face of this Harry Walsh, and figured he'd make it an IRA problem instead of a Paragon problem. He needed to speak with Noto first, and Kate as well about it. He wouldn't spill blood in her city without permission, and he certainly wouldn't take the chance from Noto if he wanted to handle it himself. Thomas walked to the front desk and called one of the receptionists over, "Lass... Do me a favor an' get a note ta Mr. Noto an' Miss Logan." The girl nodded and grabbed a pen and notepad, "Go ahead sir, what can I tell them for you?" As he spoke, the girl jotted down quickly.
He read over her note before nodding. "Perfect, lass. T'anks." He tipped her for her secretarial skills and for urgency. "Please make sure they get that, tá? Soon?" The receptionist nodded and folded the note, passing it off to room-service who would deliver it to Mr. Noto and Miss Logan. |

Just as I was about to call it a night, a slight knock is heard on my office door. "Come in!" one of the bellboy's emerges through the door with a note in hand. Before I begin reading it, I tell the worker to hold on as I Noticed KateLogan's name was on the note as well. After I finish reading the note, I fold it up and hand it back to the bellboy. "I need two things, firstly please take this note up to Ms. Logan's penthouse, make sure you tell her I sent you. After that please find Thomas_OShannon, tell him to come up to my office ok?." The bellboy then nods and leaves the office and heads up for the penthouse. |
