The Eternal Rose Started by: GhostFaceJr on Nov 21, '16 00:40

The Spirits of the Grave’s newest building project was finally complete after many hours of work, it was ready to be open for business. Located on 17 Rose Way it was the district’s newest lounge and bar, The Eternal Rose. The building it's self stood as a testament of the progression of the district around it, the one storey roughly built bar now would turn heads, instead of just being passed by in the streets.

Inside the business, you immediately sense the old-fashioned feel of the place. Finely crafted handmade wooden tables are the primary décor. The tables are long from new, but the worn look tells only of the history that has happened around them and a tribute to the artisanship. In the back of the room, the bar itself was made of the same aged wood, by some craftsman many years ago. The bar had been imported from a run-down saloon in an abandoned town in the Midwest. A costly venture to have it salvaged, restored and installed, but it only added to the rustic feel of the place. Matching the brown color, the walls were painted a dark red, creating a deep effect to the room.

Behind the bar itself were only the finest spirits that money could buy, and some that money alone could not, there were many stories to be told just from the obtainment of the drinks on offer. Standing behind the bar, in front of the many seats it hosted, was none other than GhostFaceJr himself. He enjoyed serving drinks, food, and engaging in conversation with his fellow mobsters. It was one of the things he considered himself truly good at.

In the corner of the room near the bar was a small stage, set and ready for entertainment. A piano in the back stood ready, waiting for someone with musical inclinations to provide sweet melodies. Multiple instruments, quite the collection, sat ready to please.

Off the stage was the lounge area, designed to put most of the patrons in near proximity to the stage and the musicians. The low lying brown leather couches and seats were arranged in a semi-circle, with the majority facing the small stage.

Stepping once again just outside his new bar, GhostFaceJr looked up, and saw his new sign. 'The Eternal Rose' was pressed into a steel sign, above a small logo of a skull with a rose in its mouth. It had cost extra, but he knew it helped bring the place together. Looking around the street one last time, he smiled and turned the sign on the door, from 'closed' to 'open' and headed inside.

The excitement spread through her in waves when Cami received the message an hour ago.  She had been strolling around the Garden of Eden, doing a bit of thinking about things.  There was such a peace there in the gardens, especially the rose garden. Being there seemed to soothe Cami after such hectic days flying here and there, taking care of business across the country.  She adored roses, the beauty and aroma, an almost perfect creation.

She had purchased a new dress awaiting the opening, and now Cami was finally able to wear it.  She stood in front of the mirror as she checked the dress once more.  The straps were not overly thin, the neckline curved down a little and overlapped to the left, the bodice pleated and snug down to her thighs, then a flowing skirt of burgundy satin fell to the floor.  Her gaze traveled to the satin rose positioned at the waistline, giving the dress a style to suit her perfectly.  The finishing touch, a burgundy flower hair clip, which strained to keep her curls pulled back.

Cami noticed the sign immediately with a smile.  It was even better in reality than GhostFaceJr had described.  She left word for Don Slash, and Consigliere Bender to stop by once they were in Detroit next.  Once inside, her blue eyes glanced around, noticing the stage.  Cami immediately thought of Conn and his musical talents, making a mental note to invite him here.  Her attention was drawn to the man near the bar.  She smiled as she headed towards him.

"Buonasera Ghost!  Your endeavors have paid off Signore.  The place looks amazing!"

Cami leaned up to the bar, resting her hands on the bar top, lightly strumming her fingers as she surveys the choices.  She glanced back to Ghost, noticing his gaze on her dress.  Cami knew it was the perfetto dress, and his gazing appraisal confirmed that.

"Isn't it lovely, si?  So what are you drinking tonight?"

Seeing the approaching signorina, he smiled and awaited her presence at the bar. Once she sat down, he was mesmerized by her dress, it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen somebody of the fairer sex ever wear. It took a few seconds for him to stop appreciating her beauty, and comprehend what she said.

"A good evening to you as well my dear Cami. I trust you arrived here safely?" He questioned.

Seeing her nod in agreement to his inquiry he continued. "I thank you for the praise, it certainly took a long time, but I'm glad it is finally ready."

Pausing to pick up a menu that was beside him, he passed it over to Cami with a smile, indicating the menu he spoke. "These are the options available at the moment, I'll have whatever you have. May I also say your dress does indeed look dashing, I must inquire though, did you pick it out for little old me?" He smiled at her.

Cami nodded knowing her protection detail was seated across the room, giving her space for now since they were the first to arrive.  She waved a hand in the direction her bodyguard had taken a seat.

"Oh si, si.  Carlos is very strict with security."

She waved a gentle hand through the air as she spoke.

"Yes a long time, but well worth the wait Signore.  Mhm, I was anxious for the grand opening as well.  Hearing a few of the details was enough to make me curious at the final result, but alas it is bellisima!"

A slight flush crept over her cheeks as Ghost complimented her dress.  His gaze was slightly mischievous and playful, but still he knew how to make her flustered.  Cami accepted the menu gladly, thankful for the distraction.  She cleared her throat softly before speaking.

"I think...hmm.. I'll have a Mary Pickford.  I know you do fancy something stronger, but you know my tolerance for alcohol is barely in existence."

Her blue eyes sparkled as she smiled impishly, her voice barely a whisper.

"Maybe..."

Departing the train station Pablo decides to head towards the city center for a drink. For some reason the trip had taken all the energy out of Escobar, but nothing that a few tequila shots couldn't fix. Strolling by a new establishment called "Eternal Rose" Pablo thought to himself that it looked like a good enough place as any to begin his adventure in Detroit. Opening the door to the bar he could hear the jukebox playing in the background, people playing billboards, and drunkards getting into fights. "Perfecto!" he said with a grin as he took a seat at one of the barstools. "Tequila, neat por favor," he ordered from the bartender.

Fresh from his long drive from Chicago to Detroit, and was looking for anything to get him off edge from all that driving in the backwoods and at night. But now here he was, he had long since lost contact with his father's connection to the city but knew a few places to ask around about for a place to crash and get a drink in. But just by chance, he had happened upon this joint. A spot that looked almost as if the ribbon was cut this week, no, even this very day. Something about it, the raw energy that he felt pouring out of the front door as he passed. The 'Eternal Rose'. It was the same energy that he had been running from his whole life, nothing more perfect than to find comfort in these new walls. At least it was familiar.

Wandering in, he noted just how much of a class yet brash place this was. Nothing past the chaos of your normal bar with a bit more taste. K-Dot found a free stool among the patrons and sat his hat beside him. "Anything Malt you have on stock would be lovely." While placing the order, he slid some change onto the bar. He adjusted himself, leaning his back on the bar as he watched the night thrive.

Cami still perused the menu looking over the selections, even though she really wanted a Mary Pickford.  It didn't hurt though to see what all was available.  She still had a smile on her face waiting for Ghost's reply to her cheeky 'maybe', when two new people arrived.  She glanced their way with slight curiosity.  Cami had been lost in thought and conversation as people began milling into the bar.  A few people here and there, a couple at the tables and a few on the leather couches.  She turned back towards Ghost then smiled before glancing back over the menu.

While readying a equally cheeky reply to Cami, two new patrons entered, each wanting different drinks. He smiled at Cami and mouthed 'One minute' to her, focusing his attention to his new customers he tried to serve them the best he could.

Turning to face his first proper patron, he heard that they wanted a Tequila so reaching behind the counter to produce one of the finest bottles he could find, putting the bottle and glass on the bar top he smiled at his patron and said "I hope you enjoy friend, welcome to the grand opening of the Eternal Rose! May I ask what name you go by?"

While waiting for his response, he turned to his second eagerly waiting patron and replied. "I'll just fetch something special for you good sir." Reaching behind him on one of the wooden shelves, he grabbed a old bottle of malt whiskey. It was old enough that is only had the label of '1873' on it, personally it was one of his favorites.

Again he grabbed a nearby glass and set both the bottle and glass near the patron. Collecting the change on the counter top, he asked the second patron of the night a question to get conversation going. "I hope you enjoy, the whiskey, it is a personal favorite of mine. I'm glad you chose to come to the grand opening tonight, like that gentlemen near you, may I ask the name you go by?" He smiled at his second patron while he waited for him to respond.

Mercedes had been in Vegas the last few days, so she hadn't yet visited Ghost's new venture. She made a point to do so now, as she was very proud of all the things he'd managed to accomplish in a short period of time.

Walking in, she sees the place is already bustling with customers. Recognizing Ms. Camilla from the lovely bakery she'd had the good fortune to visit, she takes a seat nearby and waits for Ghost to finish taking her order.

Cami was busy studying the menu a bit more, finding another three drinks she would have to try sometime, when someone took a seat near her. She glanced up then smiled as she recognized the lovely Signora Kompressor.  Cami placed the menu down to extend a gentle hand in greeting.

"Buonasera Signora!  So lovely to see you again.  How have you been?"

Cami shook her hand then clasped her slender fingers together atop the menu.

"I must say you look beautiful this evening."

Seeing his old friend Mercedes enter, he got a menu ready for her just in case she wanted to try some of the drinks on offer. Seeing her interact with Cami was nice to see, so he smiled at them both and questioned them.

"The way you two interact, its as if you know each other? Would you care to share the story behind that?" Still smiling he slid a menu across the bar top towards Mercedes. "That's if you care for a drink." Winking at her he continued to speak, but only in a tone low enough so that only they could hear what was being said "Don't worry, they are on the house."

Conn had traveled to the Motor City to try and get the Motown feel. He had gotten a gig a couple of days ago and the contractor wanted him to play strictly music from the Motown record label. As he was waking down the street, he saw a steel sign written "The Eternal Rose".

The sign really attracted his curiosity, so he decided to go take a look inside. He stepped inside and the first thing that hit him was the music. As a musician himself, Conn really enjoyed good music. He made his way to the bar and ordered a bottle of whisky. He then went near the stage and listened to the music. He started to snap on the 2 and the 4. It was a habit he had picked up because he thought it looked cool when counting the time before a song. When the band was finished with their first set, he went up to them and started talking. He had a good time talking music with them and he gave them his number so they could play together in the future.

Then he started getting hungry. He looked around and searched for familiar faces. He finally spotted Camilla sitting down with another lovely lady, Mercedes_Kompressor. He immediately noticed the amazing dresses both ladies where wearing. He had gone with a more hipsterish look, with his favorite beige rolled up pants and a nice corduroy shirt that belonged to his father. He walked up to their table and asked:

"Good evening darling."

As he took Camilla's hand and kissed it. The he turned around and faced Mercedes.

"Hello beautiful."

He took her hand and kissed it as well.

"Would you two lovely ladies mind if I sit with you?"

He asked, hoping they where not too busy to decline his offer.

Hearing a voice behind him, K-Dot turned his head just barely to face the bartender as he came into view. Slowly he swiveled in his seat, facing the bar for a moment. "Thanks." King waited until he received his drink.

Wrapping his hand around the glass and it's cool contents, he lifted it towards his lips and dashed his taste buds with the Malt Whisky. Slowly a grin crept upon his lips before flashing his front teeth in his smile. "Special indeed. My complements. And most people know me as Dot or K-Dot. The names Kendrick however. This is a fine place you keep here, are you the owner?" His head tiled towards the man that had just served him before scanning about the bar at the other few people that surrounded.

Mercedes orders one of Ghost's 'special blend' drinks and mentions to him that she'd met Ms.Camilla, along with her unforgettable pastries, while on a collections trip recently. As she raves on about the lovely woman's baking talents, another gentleman joins them at the table. He obviously knows Camilla already, so Mercedes introducing herself and takes a sip of Ghost's concoction.

Whatever it is, it's incredibly strong, and she makes a mental note to find out later what, exactly, is in it.

Seeing so many people around him, after opening not to long ago, made all the work he put into the place so much more worth it.

Smiling at Kendrick, he replied to his query. "Thank you Mr.Kendrick for the appreciation of the drink I'm glad you liked it, I am the owner of this establishment, it didn't open that long ago actually." He paused to start cleaning a nearby glass with a rag he was holding. Turning back to Kendrick he continued.

"Did you travel much to come here? Or are you a Detroit local?" He smiled again as he waited for a response, because he had just heard Mercedes respond to his previous question. He made a mental note to try these 'unforgettable pastries' at some point.

After Mercedes_Kompressor introduced herself, Conn did the same.

"Enchanté, Madame Mercedes. I am Conn, the sexy sax player that you dream about."

A little smile drew to his face while he was presenting himself. Confidence was one of his strong suits, as his father showed him to be polite and funny with beautiful women. After he was done introducing himself, he added a little something.

"If you ever want to escape from reality a couple of hours, or only want a fun time, je suis ton homme!"

He slid a paper, which had all his info written on, to her. He then turned towards CamillaBalistreri.

"The offer applies to you too!"

He sat down next to Camilla and waited for GhostFaceJr to come take his order.

"If anyone fancies a dance after supper, you know who to ask!"

Immediately amused by Conn's charm and flirtatious demeanor, Mercedes scans the instruments around the room. At first she doesn't see it...but there it is. A saxophone, partially hidden behind the piano. The musicians were currently on break, so here was an opportunity. Once Conn has placed his drink order, Mercedes speaks.

"I believe Ms. Camilla and I are curious as to whether you can play as smoothly as you speak, Conn," she says, tipping a wink at Signora Balistreri.

"There's a sax up there by the piano...let's hear you play!"

Eye drawn to the building from across the street, Matches decides to enter, knowing it's been all to long since he's had a stiff drink and good entertainment. Upon entering Matches is instantly pleased with the vibe it gives off, the decor and rustic appeal drew him in, and the wide variety of drinks entices him to stay for awhile. Deciding to take a seat at the intriguing bar, pleased with its craftsmanship. Matches signals to the bartender that he's here, but in no rush to be served. He doesn't make it an urgent point that he's here, because at this point a stiff drink would just be a bonus. He surveys the room again, admiring the style and music, leaning back with a smirk

"I could get used to this."

"About a half day's drive. Was on my way here from Chicago. Granted it's not that long of a drive but for once I figured I'd stop and smell the roses and not just be on such a direct shot over here. I always wanted to take the time to enjoy the backwoods and not the simpleness of the city. Wanted to expand my horizon and see what was over here in Detroit. Just really looking to get my feet wet, get to know the area." Kendrick kept adjusting his hat till it sat on the bar at an angle. Finishing his drink and asking for another one with a bit more change than before. "But where are my manners, this is not the time or place. I will say though, this is indeed a thriving social. To it's health and longevity."

Conn had joined them at the bar, apparently in a good mood, all smiles and charming.  After the introductions all around, the two talked about music and dancing.  She thought that's what was missing yet for the evening, music flowing all around as people swayed to the rhythm.  She took a sip of the drink Ghost brought her moments ago, relishing in the savory blend.  The bar was buzzing with a decent crowd now, so Cami sat back content to observe.
