The truth about last night events Started by: Moretay on Dec 16, '07 22:05
Moretay walks out into the street on this cold dark night. taking off his hat the look on his face lets you know he isn't here for idle chat or gossip but strictly business

Hello everyone well as you will have noticed, last night the leader of Philly Jay-C was assassinated but there are lots of rumours and gossip going around about who killed him with nobody actually knowing the truth.

Well I'm here today to let you all know it was myself that was instrumental in orchestrating the fall of the organisation formally known as the company.

So why do it you are all asking? Well I am not going to tell you every little detail of course but to put it simply Jay interfered in my family business a few days ago and tried to enforce his views on myself. I was not happy with this but decided to put it to one side for the time being.

That time being last night when I found out not only had he been meddling with my business but also the business of other families this, along with the reports I had received from members of his family saying how disappointed they were to be working with him and didnt like the way he ran his family made me decide this was not the sort of person I wanted to be working alongside me and running a city no less. it was at this moment that I decided to takedown his family.

And so it was done that early Sunday morning the shot was taken that ended Jay-C's life I immediately let my hit squad know that any family member was to be killed no matter who they were, if they were earner or below and found a family then they would be left safe but for everyone else there would be no mercy shown. After all this is the mafia I'm not here to hold your hand and watch out for you. I look after my family above everything else and if there was anyone who could have been a threat or wanted to try and take out a member of my family I wanted them dead.

So there you have it the real person behind the attack last night. Just goes to show how many people around here will just try to pin the blame on an innocent party or just blame someone they don't like when they don't have the first idea of what's going on maybe in the future you will keep quiet until the whole story emerges.

So now your turn I await your opinions, crushing remarks, cries of LIES and threats of revenge but after all is said and done the decision has been made. and Jay is still going to be dead.

The act of removal was done so with my cooperation and support. This Thing has no place for unprofessionalism.

The sacred rite, Omerta. The Code of Silence, we are to remain silent about the dealings of la famiglia. Now... this is a two-way street as well. New York does not butt into the dealings of Philly, Philly should not butt into the dealings of New York, ESPECIALLY when they don't concern the other. Interogating newly induced associates and asking if they were 'whored' is unacceptable. The list goes on really... and I refuse to work with any figure that resorts to this unprofessional, disrespectful and arrogant behavior.

Why do leaders always feel the need to explain themselves to the masses? As far as I'm concerned you had your reasons for doing what you did and being the head of a family you had a right to it. People will always bitch when leaders fall and they will always seek the opportunity to blame their enemies. I mean no disrespect, of course, it is very admirable for you to take responsibility for your actions but in my mind unnecessary.

Elaina respectfully listens to her leader and N.Y.'s CL, then steps forward

As you all know, I was Cthulhu's RHW, I can tell you this opinion was also held by him and myself. As for the way this has been undertaken and done, I can only express pride in my leader as well as my ex-family member Sal. To most of the nay-sayers in the streets, I only can say that most of you have done and agreed with the same kind of thing, but apparently it is different when it comes to your own family. Not true.
Report Post Tip
Leaders don't have any obligation to explain themselves to the masses, but in many situations it is a good thing, because the less experience mobsters can learn from it. For example, young Jaybee, if he ever becomes a Boss one day, has now learned that he should have more respect for the private affairs of other famiglias.
Report Post Tip
Perhaps the reasoning behind this explanation lies with the belief of the son, JayBee, that his father did things: "right."

Kevin makes an excellent point. The son may believe this, but behind the scenes there were many, many, many things being done wrong it would seem. It will provide an excellent learning experience if it can be accepted as such.
Report Post Tip
Perhaps in time such a lesson will be learned but the boy did just lose his father I know I would be angry if i was in his shoes time will ultimately be the determining fact in whether the son will learn from the mistakes of the father.

After hearing the NY Leader out, the young Mr_Clean steps forward to speak.

You say that your reason for killing Jay was because his family was unhappy with the way he ran things, as well as his getting into your business. I guess I understand your reason for killing him. My only question is, if you did this in part for his members who were unhappy with his leadership, then why kill his family as well? It seems a little weird that you allow your family to shoot at Jay's unsposoreds when you killed him looking out for them.

Can you give any reason for why you saw fit for his whole family to be killed as well?

Mr_Clean steps back waiting for a response.
Report Post Tip
My apologies for answering for the man, it's just that the answer seems sort of obvious. When you are at war with a family, those family members have a tendency to shoot back.
Report Post Tip
I understand that, but his family had no idea who they were at war with.

If Jay was the problem, he could have been handled, and then the public addressed about it. Give thos that understood a chance to live on.
Report Post Tip
Agreed, you have to account for the fierce loyalty that I would hope is instilled in every family. Should the boss be attacked it is up to his family to protect him, and therefore up to the attacker to limit his own risk.
Report Post Tip
To add on, I heard the part about letting people earner and below find another family, but that didn't actually happen.

Should there then be some sort of punishment to those in his family who didn't listen? I personally know many people who died in their sleep, without a chance to find another family.
Report Post Tip
Mister Clean, I personally didn't care how Jay-C ran his family or his city. It was franky none of my business and to suggest others would compromise the justification I used. The reasons, I cited above, in my reply are the reasons, I got involved and brought my stance to the table with those involved. Is that clear?

*otherwise

:)
Report Post Tip
Sure it's clear Mr G. It's hard to understand. But it's clear.
Report Post Tip
It's quite improbable that Jay's whole family would be ok with letting Moretay shoot their Boss. If you were a leader, and you felt the need to remove another leader, wouldn't you want to keep your family safe in the process?

Just one angry member can cause quite a few deaths, and it doesn't have to be a high ranked hitman. A good Boss will protect his Gangsters as well as his higher ranks.

Jay's whole family wasn't killed, but maybe they should have been. It surprises me that other leaders are willing to put their family at risk, just to give someone outside of their family a second chance at life.

Clears her throat loudly and in a rare moment of rashness, decides to remark upon the present situation. Flicks her cigarette to the floor and steps on it before speaking.

As I am at the risk of speaking for men who I consider to be my highly respected superiors, I will not comment to the full extent I desire to. However:

"...any family member was to be killed no matter who they were, if they were earner or below and found a family then they would be left safe but for everyone else there would be no mercy shown." -Moretay

Perhaps consider that the only ones who were considered open targets were high ranking member's of The Company...
Report Post Tip
I apologize for the second consecutive post, however I wish to clarify that the above is a response to Mr_Clean regarding his question as to why The Company members should be killed.
Report Post Tip
I saw that part that you've quoted miss. And I understand taking out rankers. but if you look in the obits, it is clear that there were numerous earners and below who were shot anyways. That doesn't seem right. Was this done because Moretays crew doesn't listen to or respect the decisions of their leader? Or was there never really a demand to let them find a new home? It's tough for me to believe that such a great leader as Moretay would be dishonest at all in his address to the public.

I know that I'm taking a huge risk asking these questions, but it seems to me that some of his statements, and some of the actual actions last night just don't line up.
Report Post Tip
"I immediately let my hit squad know that any family member was to be killed no matter who they were"

I think that clears that up. He never told them not to fire he said do himself.
