I was the brain of this idea based on my Mammas question she asked and why she died. |

My only concern or issue here is that there is no actual work required to earn the interest, other than waiting. Yes you could say CAs are essentially the same thing (you put in 10 credits, you get back more than 10 credits in cash), however it does require you to actually find the highest coke and actually physically sell it yourself. If there was some way that having to do actual work was incorporated into this idea I think it could be good, but would essentially be a CA by another name. Also in regards to 'work done vs money received' how would you account for people with 100 million investing and doing the same amount of work as someone putting in 1 million but getting 10 times more actual profit? Yes you could say that they had to work to get the 100 million, and potentially they would, but people can also easily do this just by selling credits they bought with real money. In regards to that, I think it would be most sensible to have a cap on the amount you can invest at any given time, and the cap should be dependent on how you balance the 'work done vs money received' aspect too.
I'm writing this as I'm thinking of things here so I know it probably isn't all greatly coherent or in any logical order but also - aren't DFPs essentially this? You invest (amount dependent on rank and drug), and over time it pays back what you invested plus extra if you live long enough to see profit. The only difference would be (I assume) that everybody would be able to invest rather than having a limited number of investments (as DFPs do). Also the amount of profit you get is dependent on work (rank + amount of units you've earned), reliant on you actually coming online to bribe your dfp, and it's capped on how much you can earn per day based on people's units. I guess my point there is, why bring in investments open to everyone in the game when there is something that already is basically an investment which has a cap on the amount of people allowed to have it? |

Thats a fair point Datorder. I's struggle to find arguments against it that would stand up. Kid, no you weren't. This idea existed in another world many, many years ago. I merely presented the basic principal here as a suggestion. It wasn't my original idea. And it certainly wasn't yours. |

The return would have to be relatively small, a few percent. Remember in the 30s most people had to pay for bank accounts, they didn't earn interest. Squishy would have to look at the percentages of players that survive over set time periods in order to calculate interest rates, for instance, if 90% of players make it past 2 weeks, then the interest for a 2 week investment would only be 1 or 2%. If less than 50% make it past 2 months, then the interest may be 5% for a month, and so on. |

I'm a proponent of having users create this sort of thing rather than asking for features. If you really wanted to "invest"; 1. Select a broker that you can trust with your funds. 2. Have the broker vet candidates for CA ownership (probably with some level of collateral). 3. Broker purchases CAs for the candidates with money from investors. 4. CAs generate income over a span of 30 days. If well-organized, this can net ~35% ROI over a month or about 1.1% of interest per day. If you wanted to earn more than that, you'd need to make it riskier. Like investing in a crew (buying them an HQ) and having them pay you back with interest. Or sponsoring a DFP purchase. Shit like that. The game has wealth-creation mechanics that allow for investment, players just don't want to do it themselves. |

What about some sort of stock-market type feature? Could be done with basic implementation, I think people would love it. |

there used to be a stock market, but there were issues with it and it was abandoned. |
