The slip of paper she held in her hands contained information, much awaited information on the whereabouts of several of the thugs who were there alongside that rat bastard Petey.  She carefully slid the paper into her coat pocket as she braced the chilly gusts of wind.  Fucking Chicago of all places Cami had to venture to in the beginning of winter.  She glanced up ahead to the neon sign, barely blinking the name of the bar, as if shorting out from the winds slapping it nonstop.  The Windy City.  Cazzo vento inferno.  She had no idea why these thugs were so far out of their territory anyways.

Once inside the bar, her blue eyes adjusted to the dimly lit room.  Not a huge crowd for 10 o'clock at night, but enough Cami could go unnoticed, and left alone for a while.  Once at the table, she removed the thick wool coat, folding neatly placing over the booth back.  She slid into the seat smoothing the black dress.  She used to wear colors frequently, but her mind was void of emotion.  The waitress came over taking her order, and within a couple minutes she returned with the bottle of whiskey, and a shot glass.

Cami wasn't one for whiskey still, but after her meeting with Kate, she kind of developed a taste for it.  The first shot poured, downed, and was pouring the second one already when she heard a rowdy group of voices at the bar.  Her gaze traveled to the beautiful raven haired lady leaning against the bar, next to two men, the smile she had on her face was proof at least someone was enjoying themselves tonight.  Cami focused back on the shot glass, knocked it back, and the glass hit the table with a soft thud.

She glanced back over to the young lady, noticing her gaze was focused in her direction.  Cami nodded briefly before turning to retrieve the piece of paper from her coat pocket.  She poured another glassful, then left it to the side as she studied the names and addresses on the paper.  She was so intent on figuring out the locations, and timeline of what needed to be done, Cami failed to realize the raven beauty was beside the table.  She cleared her throat as she looked up to see a pair of the greenest eyes.

Adriana was sitting at the local bar enjoying the attention of free drinks from the local drunks trying to get into her pants when a chance glance off the side revealed a woman sitting alone by herself. Adriana usually thought nothing of it, but she noticed the woman looking over a sheet of paper. This peaked Adriana's curiosity a little, she wondered what work the girl had in store that she would take it into a local pub with her. She looked at the 2 drunks around her and realized she didn't really want either of them, so she looked back at the woman intently. After a moment as if realized she was getting looked at the woman turned her attention towards Adriana and gave her a bit of a nod. Adriana took this as a sign and excused herself from the two drunks.

She made her way across the bar and stood next to woman's side. She seemed deep in thought and was looking at the paper again, not wishing to be rude Adriana peaked at the paper and then stood staring at her waiting for her to acknowledge her presence. After a moment she cleared her throat and looked up into Adriana's eyes.

Adriana smiles down sweetly at the pretty blonde with gorgeous blue eyes. "Hello darling, you look like you could use a friend!" Adriana squeezes the woman's shoulder and then slips into the seat across from her. She waves the bar tender over and asks for a shot glass. She looks at the girl across from her and says, "Names Adriana love, what's yours?"

Baffled yet bemused by the young lady's candor, Cami waved a delicate hand inviting her to have a seat and join her.  How could this raven beauty who looked even younger than Cami's own 20 years be that astute to know she needed company tonight.  Anything to drown out the loneliness, to not feel the devastation, the heart ache.  She sounded very mature, yet Cami was awful at guessing a person's age.  Adriana.  What a lovely name for someone with beauty such as hers.

"Camilla Balistreri.  Would you care for a drink?"

Cami paused as the waitress came round with another glass.

"Mia famiglia and friends call me Cami though."

She noticed Adriana's gaze focusing on the paper, so Cami folded it up then moved it to the side.  She grabbed the bottle of whiskey, and poured Adriana's glass up, reached over to the still full glass for herself then lifted it up in cheers with a slight nod.

"Saluti!"

She downed the shot with more ease than the first two, feeling her throat on fire as she swallowed quickly.  Cami set the glass down then glanced to the paper again as an idea sparked instantly.  She pulled the paper closer, opening it slowly.

"Adriana, are you from around here?  Chicago I mean?  I am in town for a bit of business, and need assistance with a few errands.  I would gladly pay for your time and help."

Adriana clinks shot glasses with Camilla and then downs it in one gulp. She ponders her question for a second before making a reply. "I am indeed from around these parts. My parents where immigrants, but I am born and raised in this wonderful city." Adriana grabs the bottle of whiskey and pours herself and Camilla another shot before continuing the line of conversation. "I came here for a bit of fun, it just so happens I find fun wherever I go. As long as your errands don't include me carrying your groceries for you, I think we'll be just fine."

Adriana holds up the shot glass and looks across the table at Camilla. "To new friends, and fun times to follow!" Adriana downs the second shot just the same as the first before waiting for Camilla's response to her half question.

"To new friends!"

Cami echoed the sentiment, even managing a soft smile.  The first one to actually appear in several days.  There was something about the raven beauty that made Cami feel relaxed, and she hadn't felt that way in a good while.  She looked up to Adriana, and without a thought Cami softly giggled.

"Groceries?  No, what I have in mind is something a bit more daring, but you know what, I can tell you would be perfect for this job.  You have a spunk about you, and you don't seem to take any shit from people.  The kind of business I am involved in isn't for the faint of heart."

Cami leaned forward slightly, even though there were no eavesdroppers within several feet, but she took zero chances.  She spoke softly to Adriana, explaining what had happened to her husband, then explaining briefly about the business she was in, and hoping to become more trusted. She didn't give names or details, just a bit of information to entice Adriana to assist her.  Cami laid the paper down on the table, angling where they both could read the words written there.

"These are the bastards who did it.  Addresses of their dwellings, and whatnot.  I am not too familiar with the area, and need eyes and ears to be on guard with the local law enforcement.  I want these thugs to suffer, excruciating pain.  I just landed in the city tonight, and kind of just came in guns blazing if you will.  If you like tormenting people who deserve it, then this should be right up your area of interest.  What do you say Adriana? You in?"

She had went to her bossman after the funeral begging him for permission to avenge her husband's death, and they had talked at length of the consequences, risks, and responsibilities Cami would face if she proceeded with that course of action.  She hadn't known at the time is was actually planned to a certain degree, and Don Slash was waiting for when Cami had been ready.  She couldn't be more ready than she was right then.

Adriana set the shot glass aside and listened in as Camilla explained what hat happened to her and what she was going to do about it. She nodded a few times during to show she was listening intently and after Camilla was done she sat back and thought for a second. "I too was wronged not to long ago. The locked me up in a psycho ward believing me to be a danger to society. The psychiatrist was a little more handsy then needed to do his job. The first thing I did after breaking out was to cure myself by ending his life." Adriana sad casually to Camilla as if talking about what they where going to have for supper that evening.

"There is nothing I hate worse then scum that abuse others for their own pleasure" she said to Camilla with a steady gaze at her new found friend. "It would be my pleasure to accompany you tonight on your errands, Camilla" Adriana said with a cool air of confidence. She refilled their shot glasses one last time and then raised it towards Camilla, "To righting our wrongs," she said before clinking glasses with Camilla and then downing her shot in one gulp. With that Adriana closed the bottle of whiskey and pushed it towards Camilla and proceeded to get up from the table to start their night's mission.

Cami downed the last shot, left some cash on the table with ample tip to cover the entire bottle. She was feeling slightly generous, so why not. She was in a better mood at the moment, realizing things were about to get better. She put her coat on with a bit of kick in her graceful movements, then slid the piece of paper in her pocket, smiling towards Adriana as they headed for the door.

“Let’s do this.”

After Cami had received the names and addresses from Signora Logan, she graciously understood that Cami herself had to sort this out on her own. It wouldn’t have taken much effort for Kate to handle things, but….but Cami needed to get a foothold in life, and handle things herself.  She was eternally grateful for everything Kate did to help her, yet Cami had truly needed to do this, to earn the feeling of justice she deserved.

After leaving her meeting with Kate that day, everything seemed to be set in motion as if it was meant to be.  Don Slash had spoken with Cami looking over the information himself, asking her questions regarding each person involved, including herself.  She looked taken aback for a second as he put the questions to her.  ‘Are you ready to take a life?  Can You pull the trigger?  Can you let the past rest when this is over?’

That last question still nagged at her to this day, this moment.  She had seven names on the list, but only six addresses.  Petey had eluded the surveillance source Kate used frequently.  Hell Cami was surprised to have 6 of the 7 names to be honest, but the main one she desperately wanted, wasn’t able to be found just yet.  Rather than let the rest slip through her fingers, Cami grabbed at the chance to settle the score then continue the search on her own for Petey.

She glanced over to Adriana with a soft smile, as the raven haired beauty hailed a taxi.  It was fate that Cami chose this bar, because nothing else could explain this chance encounter.
