Ava_Maria walks purposefully toward Singer and steps onto the stage.

"I hope I am not being too forward by singing this song," says Ava with a little smile on her face.

Then she proceeds to sing a chilling version of Ave Maria in her lilting Soprano voice It is difficult to look away from her, and impossible not to listen.

Ave maria! maiden mild!
O listen to a maiden's prayer!
For thou canst hear amid the wild

Tis thou, tis thou canst save amid despair.
We slumber safely 'til the morrow,
Tho' we, by men, outcast, reviled;
O maiden! see a maiden's sorrow -
O mother, hear a suppliant child!
Ave maria!

Ave maria! undefiled!
The flinty couch whereon we're sleeping
Shall seem with down of eider piled,
If thou above, sweet, watch our keeping
The murky cavern's air's so heavy

Shall breathe of balm if thou hast smiled;
O maiden! hear a maiden's pleading!
O mother, hear a suppliant child!
Ave maria!

Ave maria! stainless styled!
O fiends of air and earth the essence
From this their wonted haunt exiled
Shall flee before thy holy presence
We bow beneath our care so laden
To thy dear guidance reconciled;
Then hear, o maiden, simple maiden!
And for a father hear a child!
Ave maria!

Chris Cornell
Ave Maria lyrics

Ava_Marie steps down from the podium shyly.  She is not used to performing in public, and she has been sequestered from other people most of her life.  Looking at her smoothe white skin and her soft brown hair, you would never guess that she spent the majority of her life in a convent.  Watching her smile, without knowing the effect it had on others was very refreshing.  At least she was able to scrounge up a nice little dress, as she had recently destroyed the habit she had been wearing for the last several years.

"Thank you so much for this opportunity, kind Sir."  She says as she curtsies at the end.

Singer stands in awe of the song. It hits him in the heart. He wipes away the tear and hugs her.

Thankyou Marie for singing this song i loved it. Such an honor to have you here.

Singer looks to the sky and from the pit of his heart he cries

Salve Regina Totus Tuus!!!

Serotonin was in Detroit when he heard SINGER opened a new bar in the business district there. Sero got the driver to take him to SINGER's new spot, he got out of the car and headed to the front door with a few bodyguard. Sero entered the bar and seen SINGER standing near the bar, he walked over to him and shook his hand.

'Hey SINGER, I like what you have done here.'

Sero looks around and than turns back to SINGER.

'Cant say I ever seen a place like this before, its very unique.'

Rogue walks in and takes a look around. Hearing people singing she goes up and gets drink at the bar then takes a seat.

Hmm.. Singer must say nice place. Quite unique I must say. She lights up a smoke and smiles. I have to say though I will not be one that gets up there and sings. My voice well.. Rogue coughs a bit and smiles not the best.

While in Detroit, Al needed a place to lay low. After stashing the getaway car it was on foot from there. He happened apon Singers and thought it to be the most inconspicuous place for a man of his stature to be found... He was glad to see the joint had a bar and quickly ordered up his usual rum. He tried making conversation with the gal sitting down the bar, but her voice was so irritable that he excused himself and went to the bathroom. Looking around for it, he noticed the stage and sound equipment but no band?

After many, many drinks Alfonce was quite prone to singing and would often sing to himself. That's when the bartender informed him to feel free and take the stage...He thought for a second, finished a glass and said: "What the hell, Ya' only live once!" Al stepped in front of the large mic and began to sing :

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there was never
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world

It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become

Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world...

Serotonin clapped as Alfonce was done with his song he than took a seat and waved the bartender over. The bartender walked over to take his order.

Let me get a glass of whiskey. Serotonin told the bartender than reached into his pocket grabbing a cigar, he looked to SINGER.

You mind if I have a smoke in here? He asked as he stuck the cigar in his mouth.

while in Detroit Confucious was out taking a stroll and saw the Singers Bar. Hearing the music from inside he enters to see what it was all about. Upon entering he notices there is a microphone on the stage and no one around to use it. Felling a little frisky he decides to warm up a little and head up on stage.

Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away
If you can use some exotic booze
There's a bar in far Bombay
Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away

Come fly with me, let's float down to Peru
In llama-land there's a one-man band
And he'll toot his flute for you
Come fly with me, let's take off in the blue

Once I get you up there
Where the air is rarefied
We'll just glide
Starry-eyed
Once I get you up there
I'll be holding you so near
You may hear
Angels cheer, 'cause we're together

Weather-wise, it's such a lovely day
Just say the words and we'll beat the birds
Back to Acapulco Bay
It is perfect for a flying honeymoon, they say
Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away

Once I get you up there
Where the air is rarefied
We'll just glide
Starry-eyed
Once I get you up there
I'll be holding you so near
You may hear
Angels cheer, 'cause we're together

Weather-wise, it's such a lovely day
If you say the word, we will beat those birds
Back to Acapulco Bay
It is perfect for a flying honeymoon, they say
Come fly with me, let's fly, let,s fly,
Pack up, let's fly away

Ava once again finds herself in Detroit and wanders into Singers Singing Bar  "I would like to change it up a bit with something a little more casual, " She says with a shy smile.   She can hardly believe her own boldness in deciding to sing in public once again.  This time Ava is dressed a little nicer than before.  Her voice comes out smooth and upbeat and others can see a marked difference in her attitude.  There is a quiet happiness about her this time. She steps onto the stage and begins.

We're in the money, we're in the money; We've got a lot of what it takes to get along! We're in the money, that sky is sunny, Old Man Depression you are through, you done us wrong. We never see a headline about breadlines today. And when we see the landlord we can look that guy right in the eyeWe're in the money, come on, my honey, Let's lend it, spend it, send it rolling along!

Oh, yes we're in the money, you bet we're in the money, We've got a lot of what it takes to get along! Let's go we're in the money, Look up the skies are sunny, Old Man Depression you are through, you done us wrong. We never see a headline about breadlines today. And when we see the landlord we can look that guy right in the eyeWe're in the money, come on, my honey, Let's lend it, spend it, send it rolling along!

When Ava has finished she flashes a sweet smile once again and steps down from the stage.  Then she curtsies and waves to the audience.

Serotonin had just gotten off a long flight from Las Vegas and was in need of a drink. On his way out of the airport he remembered SINGER's Detroit bar. As he got in the Taxi he told the driver where he was headed, the man nodded and took Serotonin downtown to the bar. He got out of the car and entered the building noticing a nice crowd beginning to fill up the place. He walked by everyone and made his way up to the bar, he than waved the bartender over to order his drink.

'Let me get a rusty nail.' Sero said as he sat back to listen to the next performer.

You're a fighter, you're a lover
You're strong and you recover
From whatever gets you down

And there's so many many reasons
Any time, any season
Is the right time, to be with you

Hello Detroit
You've won my heart
Your renaissance, and waterfronts
Give you a flare of your own
Irresistible you
Hug and kissable you
You're alive with so much feeling
And I will always, be there for you
I will say, a little prayer for you
And I will always care for you

Hello Detroit
You've touched my soul
Thanks for the memories I cherish so

Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall
You've got it all
Hello Hello Hello
Hello Detroit

On a stroll through Belle Isle Park
Greektown after dark
You instill in the young, the will to become
Stars and champions

Hello my friend
How have you been?
It's in the air
It's everywhere
The magical touch of you

Irresistible you
Hug and kissable you
You're alive with so much feeling

And I will always be there for you
I will say a little prayer for you
I will always care for you

Hello

And the Motown sound that's got the whole world singin'

back in Detroit for business Confucious heads to his favorite karaoke bar to flex his vocal chords, once again.

"One Piece At A Time"

Well, I left Kentucky back in '49
An' went to Detroit workin' on a 'sembly line
The first year they had me puttin' wheels on cadillacs

Every day I'd watch them beauties roll by
And sometimes I'd hang my head and cry
'Cause I always wanted me one that was long and black.

One day I devised myself a plan
That should be the envy of most any man
I'd sneak it out of there in a lunchbox in my hand
Now gettin' caught meant gettin' fired
But I figured I'd have it all by the time I retired
I'd have me a car worth at least a hundred grand.

[CHORUS]
I'd get it one piece at a time
And it wouldn't cost me a dime
You'll know it's me when I come through your town
I'm gonna ride around in style
I'm gonna drive everybody wild
'Cause I'll have the only one there is a round.

So the very next day when I punched in
With my big lunchbox and with help from my friends
I left that day with a lunch box full of gears
Now, I never considered myself a thief
GM wouldn't miss just one little piece
Especially if I strung it out over several years.

The first day I got me a fuel pump
And the next day I got me an engine and a trunk
Then I got me a transmission and all of the chrome
The little things I could get in my big lunchbox
Like nuts, an' bolts, and all four shocks
But the big stuff we snuck out in my buddy's mobile home.

Now, up to now my plan went all right
'Til we tried to put it all together one night
And that's when we noticed that something was definitely wrong.

The transmission was a '53
And the motor turned out to be a '73
And when we tried to put in the bolts all the holes were gone.

So we drilled it out so that it would fit
And with a little bit of help with an A-daptor kit
We had that engine runnin' just like a song
Now the headlight' was another sight
We had two on the left and one on the right
But when we pulled out the switch all three of 'em come on.

The back end looked kinda funny too
But we put it together and when we got thru
Well, that's when we noticed that we only had one tail-fin
About that time my wife walked out
And I could see in her eyes that she had her doubts
But she opened the door and said "Honey, take me for a spin."

So we drove up town just to get the tags
And I headed her right on down main drag
I could hear everybody laughin' for blocks around
But up there at the court house they didn't laugh
'Cause to type it up it took the whole staff
And when they got through the title weighed sixty pounds.

[CHORUS]
I got it one piece at a time
And it didn't cost me a dime
You'll know it's me when I come through your town
I'm gonna ride around in style
I'm gonna drive everybody wild
'Cause I'll have the only one there is around.

[Spoken] Ugh! Yow, RED RYDER
This is the COTTON MOUTH
In the PSYCHO-BILLY CADILLAC Come on

Huh, This is the COTTON MOUTH
And negatory on the cost of this mow-chine there RED RYDER
You might say I went right up to the factory
And picked it up, it's cheaper that way
Ugh!, what model is it?

As everyone kept going up Singer just welcomed them up and smiled. Confucious was quickly becomming the fan favorite and sang more than everyone else. Singer sat next to his Godfather and Rogue and just kept applauding as people kept going up.

Yeah im sorry this place is pretty unique i feel like i should have opened something like this in St.Louis to. I mean It looks real good everyones getting up and singing and you know im trying to find me some talent to sing on my next record so its all good.

Singer goes around and gets Drinks for everyone and laughs as Serotonin smoked his cigar in the no smoking section. Singer grabbed the no smoking section sign and put it away for the while.

Anyone have a favorite singer that went up so far?

Ava Marie finds herself in Detroit at loose ends and decides to go back to Singer's Singing Bar.  She steps out onto the stage, with more confidence than ever.  Ava is wearing a new shorter style red dress with fringe, matching red heels, and a red rose in her long dark hair.  She takes a deep breath and begins

Dream a Little Dream Of Me

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper I love you
Birds singing in the sycamore trees
Dream a little dream of me

Say nighty nighty and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be

Dream a little dream of me.

(Lyrics as performed by Miss Ella Fitzgerald)

Ava steps off the stage with a big smile on her face.  Singing makes her so happy and the light hearted lyrics are just what she needs today.  "Thank you for this opportunity, Singer"  Then she curtsies and leaves the stage in search of a glass of wine.

After taking care of business, Al visited SINGER'S, had been a while but he had gotten so drunk there the last time that it was a no-brainer in deciding where to hang out. Walking in he could see the business was at full stream, people laughing, singing and having a great time. Al decided after a few he would sit and sing an old favorite of his for the locals..

He took his stool and set it in front of the mic.."This is one close to my heart"

I was eight years old and running with a dime in my hand
Into the bus stop to pick up a paper for my old man
Id sit on his lap in that big old buick and steer as we drove through town
Hed tousle my hair and say son take a good look around
This is your hometown, this is your hometown
This is your hometown, this is your hometown

In `65 tension was running high at my high school
There was a lot of fights between the black and white
There was nothing you could do
Two cars at a light on a saturday night in the back seat there was a gun
Words were passed in a shotgun blast
Troubled times had come to my hometown
My hometown, my hometown, my hometown

Now main streets whitewashed windows and vacant stores
Seems like there aint nobody wants to come down here no more
They're closing down the textile mill across the railroad tracks
Foreman says these jobs are going boys and they aint coming back to
Your hometown, your hometown, your hometown, your hometown

Last night me and kate we laid in bed talking about getting out
Packing up our bags maybe heading south
Im thirty-five we got a boy of our own now
Last night I sat him up behind the wheel and said son take a good
Look around
This is your hometown...

(Bruce Springsteen)

After singing the song Al was always humbled by, he slowly took his stool back to the bar and let his mind wander off into his past while drinking a beer.

Trying to smile, once in a while,
but I find it so hard to do.
For I'm dancing with tears in my eyes,
'cause the girl in my arms isn't you
