Sitting in his office, doing the monotonous daily paperwork as the phone rings, Rorschach turns to pick up the receiver and elbows a small stack of neatly stacked paper onto the floor. Leaning down to pick them up, he realises the floor of the office was submerged in about an inch of water and began swearing as he picked up his now drenched paperwork.

*RRRIIINNNGGG RRIIIINNGGGGG*

Muttering about Artus being overly excited - once again - and slapping the soaked paperwork down on the desk, splattering wet ink and water all over the surrounding papers, he grabs the receiver and bellows angrily down the phone:

"WHAT!? WHAT IS IT?!"

Listening impatiently to the caller, giving very direct and curt answers before slamming the phone down, Rorschach picks up the remainder of his paperwork and squelches his way out of the office and follows the water running out the door to the garden, noticing the large vessel that transported him and Artus from the Garden of Eden residing in the flooded garden and realising the ark is his best chance of completing his paperwork, he boards the large boat and heads for the top deck.

As he reaches the top deck he notices Slash and Lord FitzChivalry sitting in deck chairs, in the midst of a deep discussion which seemed to cease upon Rorschach's arrival. As he nears, the pair stand and face Rorschach almost simultaneously. Slash approaches solemnly and begins to speak:

"Ror, I have some bad news... Artus was ambushed today whilst he was assessing an investment opportunity in Detroit. We rushed him to the local hospital, but sadly he didn't make it. As you're aware this puts a strain on the operation in Paradise and since you've been there with Artus from the start we have chosen to offer you the chance to continue Artus's work. It both delights and saddens me to give you this opportunity, but I trust you'll excel in Artus's stead."

As he passes a small handful of keys to Rorschach, Slash tries to force a smile, and nods gently

"Before you do that, however, you have to decide what you will call your new venture?"

Struggling with emotion, Rorschach struggles to find any words to fully express his sadness at the developments before composing himself and looking up at Slash and replying:

"Thank you Slash, I shan't let you down... and given its historical relevance with Artus, I think only one name would be appropriate now: The Ark."

Congratulations Rorschach, it's too bad this didn't happen under more felicitous circumstances. However this should not be a day of mourning the death of Artus, but to celebrate his life and your new venture. Godspeed sir!

Axel was currently away getting legless in a casino somewhere in Vegas. He'd business to sort and pleasure to seek. Just the remedy for a tragic day in the cities history books. A man of fine character left a hole in the minds and hearts of many, yet usually amongst pain and suffering you could find acts of random kindness.

With the appointment of Artus' right hand to take on the family duties full time, Axel sent his own act of kindness to remind the new Paradise figure head that Summerlin was behind him.

Whores. X2. For the ark. You'll need these as you come back from the flood to repopulate that section of Paradise. The oldest profession in the world must go on!

The note was attached to a bottle of expensive Aria purchased whisky, in the hand of one of the two broads as they boarded the arc.

"Rorschach, my friend!" Lacey exclaimed during the announcement. "On a day like today, with the air so thick with loss, it is a welcome sight to see such a worthy and deserving individual get to stamp their mark on this world. I've no doubt you will bring great things to Vegas in the days and months to come. Congratulations to you."

Lacey pulls a folded Bill of Lading out of her pocket.

"You will find a gift from mine to yours waiting at your Headquarters upon your arrival. Please look me up the next time you are in New York, and best wishes." She called to him as she folded the paper, stuffed it back in her pocket and headed on down the street.

She sighed as she had to push her way through all these whores Axel seemed to have rustled up two by two.  Cami mumbled not so quietly as one of them thought she was losing her place in line to board the Ark, and shoved against Cami.

"Mio Dio!  Cazzo!  Look missy move the hell outta my way, capire?"

Cami finally got through the crowd, finding the gentleman she had been looking for, Consigliere @Rorshach.  She pulled him off to the side to speak with him, softening her features.

"Molto bene Ror! In light of this tragedy, losing Don Artus so suddenly, I know you will do him proud, as well as Las Vegas.  I have complete faith in you to shine in Paradise, and creating something amazing in the aftermath of the recent events.  It was a pleasure working along side you in Sin City, and I am always here for whenever you need anything.  Cheers to new beginnings!"
