The Day I came to the Big apple Started by: Champ on May 20, '10 21:32

Yes,Anselmo. I do agree with you but would you tell me if you were entertained by this story of Champ with all it's errors?
I did not think so,Well,if It provides with entertainment, I do not care even if a three year old sprouts any nonsense here, but this did not provide any entertainment, well, it did provide a lot of unintended amusement for all of us, but did it provide any amusement in the way it was intended to?

Report Post Tip

The entertainment value of Champ's story is completely irrelevant to the point I am trying to make to you, or to any point you have attempted to make up to this point for that matter.

Be that as it may, I can think of at least two Friends of Ours who were entertained by Champ's story, both of whom outweigh you in terms of street prominence and significance in This Thing Of Ours.

The entertainment value of any story is a matter of personal opinion. You are of course entitled to yours. As it would appear, you are in the majority with your opinion of this particular speech. However, entertainment value can also be measured by the volume of responses it receives. The two most recent speeches given by Champ in our fine streets have solicited tremendous response; responses from people who have already established themselves as prominent street speakers by their own contributions. Intentonally amusing or not, Champ's story at least got a reaction, got people talking, and prompted discussion. You on the other hand have contributed one speech to our streets that was dismissed by a panel of judges and tallied a grand total of four responses, two of which were made by the same person and one of which that was made by you. You may want to consider factors such as these before you publically shame somebody else for their efforts. At the very least, don't nit-pick things such as spelling and grammer when you yourself have made errors in this very conversation

I cannot help but reply to your statements here.

You say that entertainment value of any speech or story could be judged by the amount of responses they recieve.Yes, you right, the amount of publicity the Speech recieves is one parameter to measure the Value of the speech when and only when it is all positive and not when it is mostly negative.Well, either I have a hearing problem for I think most of the responses here have been negative to the maximum.

You on the other hand have contributed one speech to our streets that was dismissed by a panel of judges and tallied a grand total of four responses, two of which were made by the same person and one of which that was made by you. Yes, I am not known to be speaking out in the Streets and I have only one story to my name which was,as you pointed out, disregarded by all the judges in the panel and had a measly four responses and it was because of only two people other than me, of whom one is dead.Yes, it was a disgraceful story to say the very least but I assure you I will be seeing me more often around here.I was unable to comment on most of the things going one here as I had some business to take care of in the old country and I could not pay much attention to what was happening here.I do apologize for my tardiness. Also, why should I consider the measly response I got to my story?I thought you said that everybody was entitled to their opinion and all I did was present mine and all I am doing is backing my opinion and not only that I am also here as Champ had mentioned in his previous speech that he would like 'comments' on this topic and that is all I provided and all I did was reply to another comment which I felt needed to be replied to.

At the very least, don't nit-pick things such as spelling and grammer when you yourself have made errors in this very conversation

Also, you are right again. My grammar has to improve a lot,at least it was one word I had mispronounced and that was because I had a cigar in my mouth at the time but then I am not running around proclaiming stories of how I got here and what I am doing here.

Report Post Tip

Ah hem, I meant to say you are right,Seesh, I must get rid of the cig.

Report Post Tip

You also never proclaimed to have written 'the greatest stories of all time'. Humility and knowing ones own faults is a great thing.

Marley listens intently as Anselmo dismantles Zeus in a battle of words.

Puff his joint and says

Point Anselmo!

After reading the short story that Champ had past out before his death,(GRHS) Chaotic scoffed and began to speak.

Wow. The greatest story teller of all time,Champ. Really? I found numerous mistakes in this written story. Now of course,we all make mistakes, but a true story teller would double-check,no,triple check his work.

As a child, Champ often waited for the local farmers to tend there crops so he could burgalarize there houses

I think you mean 'their' and burglarize.

One day Champ robbed a pair of new neghbors one of whom had hidden twenty dollars in a small wooden box clearly of Ireland Origin.

What are neghbors? Or did you mean neighbors? Oh,love the format by the way.

Yet he sought the mother of all crime and

Really...The story is half aver, yet that is probably the tenth time you have used the word sought. Think of something else to say.

Knowing in America Champ could not be sentenced or prosecuted for any misdeeds formerly committed in Scot Land. Champ bracingly robbed a string of shops, and homes all with occupants at Knife point.

I love the way the letter 'k' in knife is CAPITALIZED.

I found many other mistakes, but I don't think anybody wants my reply to be a mile long.

Report Post Tip

Ah,and if I may add,

I haven't read your story but i am going out on a limb and say it was shit and i have saved myself 10minutes of my life that i will spend staring at a wall, which is probably better spent than reading your story.

Report Post Tip

I thought my summary was excellent also. I think i may become a critic, i wonder if The Gwarble Barble is interested in my ninja like skills

Report Post Tip

Actually Hugglebear, that was just a failed attempt.

(OOC:Relatively new to all of this blockquoting shit.)

Report Post Tip

Citing Hugglebear's summary to further your point is somewhat ironic -Chaotic-, as it is pretty evident by your first response that you did indeed read the story, in great detail as it would appear, and scrutinized it with a fine-tooth comb.

At least Hugglebear's summary was funny, and most likely made people laugh after they heard it

Pointing out spelling/grammatical errors and mistakes in capitalization: Never funny, always boring, always stinks.

Report Post Tip

I dont get your point Chaotic?

I am glad it made someone laugh Anselmo, i can die a happy man now thank you :)

Report Post Tip

(OOC: I was not trying to blockquote what you said,I actually meant to do something totally different and fucked up.)

And Anselmo, who says I was trying to be funny? And if you would have listened to what I first said you would understand I was not trying to repeat what HuggleBear said.
