| Ingame Shot Report Option | Started by: Doug-Glatt on Jun 07, '17 17:42 |

Squishy , just to clarify, the screen would contain real time value of a users gun? Or would the user have to input the value per their own calculations? I ask this because, adding the modifier is pretty pointless as the user can just shave numbers on their own using their own calculations as they go and as they see their previous shot report on the same screen. |

The modifier is a great idea it helps hide rogues and if paid attention too can catch ppl lying on their SR can also assumably let someone report a higher gun than they have all of which can be done currently they way a SR is handled I'm against a non user definable total Also I think mercenary has a good layout |

Totally needless addition. I should be able to use whatever tool I choose to use to monitor the people within my family. It is my family. If I want to setup an A3 flipchart in my front room and write it all out by hand, why shouldn't I be able to? I'm now going to have to use the game's built in mechanism because one guy, after more than 10+ years of SR reports on this and the old game, has a totally unsubstantiated reason for us doing so? Nonsense. Shot reports are not used to monitor bloodlines. The only way it could be is if you voluntarily declare it; we have no other way of determining this. If you have a dislike of google for whatever privacy reasons, have you raised this with your CL? I'm guessing no. yHowever, assuming you did and they answered that you must do it or die, which I doubt, please send me a mail and I will have a chat to them because there is a really easy workaround. I will send you a back alley link with all the questions in and you can answer them there. I will then submit the SR form on your behalf. Simple. Squishy - If you are determined to code something here (which I think is a total waste of time and effort on your behalf, personally as 1 guy has complained under dubious grounds or grounds totally resolvable) please do not accompany it with any rules preventing us using alternative means of collecting the same data as that would be grossly unfair. |

It's not one guy. I kinda like the idea too (hence why I gave my thoughts on potential options in the 1st page) and it makes sense to integrate something used so much into the game itself. I don't see any reason to why you'd reject this when you are and everyone else is doing these shot reports! |

A few reasons:
1) Because the current system has been honed after many years of hard work and draws multiple lines of information, from multiple places in a format that works exactly how we want it to. I doubt this would be recreated within the game as effectively. 2) Coder time would be much better doing something productive rather than being spent fixing something that doesn't need to be fixed. 3) The reasons proposed here are either flat out untrue or easily worked around. 4) Oftentimes I can more easily explain being on a Google spreadsheet than I can on a game during hours when I should be working 5) "Sheets" app works great on my phone and MR doesn't. I would not be able to access the data I need as easily from the game as I can from gdoc.
I would caveat most of the above with the view that if we could continue using gdoc, despite an in game alternative, then have at it. |

| I really like this idea. Saves the CLs and/or hands having to chase members down for their shot reports. People won't really have that much of an excuse and can just go through in game options. Really hope this gets implemented. | |

| Larrylongneck where I understand it not being something that needs to be urgently inputted. I don't think Squishy would make us have any rules that would prevent us from gaining reports in our own manners. This is just a simple way to aid those who simply don't have the time to create sheets after sheets. I mean it only takes a few minutes on GoogleDocs but it's a matter of simplicity for everybody else. But if you are running your own crew. You should be more than welcome to run it as you please. But if it gets implented how I'm hoping it would, you should hopefully see it more as a benefit | |

Thank you for answering my question! Those are some good points, in the end its up to the coders to decide if they wish to commit making something good or not. It's to be expected that the end product would be something well-crafted and honed, but I'm not sure adding those "multiple places" is a good idea. Are you reffering to making it so that you can share your personal crew's shot reports with other crews? If so, a simple button can be made to allow access of viewing that page for others, or maybe make them private and to the eyes of only the CL? My personal opinion is to be made private, but in the end the community will decide that factor. Reasons are simple - I don't trust anyone besides my CL with such information. This is a game where we kill eachother. I don't feel cool showing the strength of the tool I kill with to outsiders, nor my protection for that matter! And before you start explaining politics - I'm no politican, just a soldier. o7 |

Another alternative is for those who don't want to use Google to send their stats and info to their leader. A leader can then input the data for their member. No email address is required unless you want on the IA list. If you do there is nothing stopping you from making an email address for this very reason. Example: "GameName1234@gmail.com" No phone numbers are required unless you want to be in WhatsApp groups. No Skype IDs are need unless you want to share that information. No IRC names are required. No identifying information is mandatory on a Las Vegas shot report other than your game name. The rest of the information for IA list access and WhatsApp groups are voluntary. So please, tell me, how are they being used to track bloodlines? |

Why don't you just make a back alley thread and give your leader the link? |

Ehhh. While I'm not terribly opposed to this, I've gotta agree with those that say this would be an enormous waste of time for the coders. We want the new GUI!!! There's plenty of IG ways to upkeep a SR as is, and again.....GUI GUI mothamothamothafuckin GUI! |

| I'm chiming in looking for suggestions on this for making it easier for everyone, the goal isn't to eliminate other sources but to provide an alternative that would make the collection and submission and viewing/sharing easier | |

| As a newer player, I think this idea is great. Games should have all the features needed to play them already included. I've always found it weird I have to use Google to fill out information about something I do in game. | |

I agree with Squishy, i think it would provide a better alternative to existing shot report formats, which new users aren't so comfortable with either. Definitely should be a in-game option in my opinion. Doesn't necessary means crews have to use it, but having the option there would be useful. |

We just need a way to poll the user base to see what options should be in it |

For anyone who isn't a CL - there is a page like taxes. Like taxes it automatically fills with honest data from our personals:
Players can decide to alter the amount that it sends in each week (just like how you can pay less taxes or more if you like!)
On CL manage members area there is a new tab that displays what each member submitted (or didn't) from Sunday 00:00:00 - Saturday 12:59:59 (ie: this week) and it can be exported as an excel sheet. The excel export allows the CL to share this with hands, a hit squad leader (if they have one) or to their GF if that's what they want. BUT having it on a tab in the Manage Members area of their crew details - that would allow them to see what they need at a glance.
Not sure that's perfection ... but I would think that would be a good start???? |

Using the google format can and will be utilized to track bloodlines. Can the account user outwit? Sure they can. Then we are dealing with paranoia. Because new or not are viewed as a threat and boom they are dead. Tracking bloodlines can be easily done without the point you raised. Family contacts and VIP forum peeps.
So much for role playing what is important. |
