Perhaps the silly idea of two city credit codes didn't help? After all we are in a regime where cities don't seem to be getting full for any longer then a week or two at a time? And the repeat of the same code for cities.. too was a bad idea.

DeniseDeVere, perhaps the recycling idea was a subtle way of trying to force cities to be occupied? I hardly think you can fault the administration for attempting to help the game, really...

sunset IRC is a hub of communications. It's where friends chat, meet new people, interact with the staff, work together during wars. It's a huge part of the community. Unlike our in-game chat you can make your own channel, hang out with people that aren't in your crew or district. IRC was the original means of communication for Mafia Returns as we did not always have an in-game chat. 

For some of us, it's home. 

That's all cool but I still don't get it, and agree with sunset in a way. If I wanted to get social I wouldn't need incentive in the form of beers on the house in the local bistro pub which was invented way before IRC. If I wanted to be more modern I would use darknet or something similar. I still don't see the connection with the original purpose of a game such as MR...  I mean playing MR isn't supposed to mean chatting on some IRC? IRC is just a mean of communicating meant to be a tool not an aim in itself.  Pardon the crudeness of my reflection if you disagree with me.

It's not really a surprise though, people usually prefer securer platforms for sensitive information, conversations and topic titles.. such as Whatsapp.

When a channel is done correctly and maintained it can be very secure. As for Whatsapp security? It's like IRC, someone always haz zee logz! They are shared, they are leaked, and we have seen this time and time again. Just like IRC logs get leaked. Set a channel secret, restricted, don't put a topic in, and if you're really paranoid set a keyword. Keep it quiet and have only those you trust in it and it can go undiscovered for years. The nice part about IRC is that you don't have to give out your phone number and whatnot. 

A lot of the reason people use Whatsapp is that it's easy and can be used everywhere with a phone. There are IRC apps for phones, but they are clumsy.

So does this mean ALL credit codes are going to be removed? Like the ones at :20, 40, and 00? Just curious as I use IRC a lot so they are nice to grab if the chance comes up.

I miss it already...:(
