Mr. Hair had been pacing the corner, patiently waiting for Dan for the past 5 minutes and once he'd arrived it was clear Dan had been stuffing his face in one of the local restaurants again. Three times this week the godfather had had compaints about Dan walking out and not paying for his bill and he assumed he'd be hearing from another unhappy client soon. They were already paying protection and Dan eating $200 worth of food each time he went in wasn't going to keep them happy, they'd need to hire additional protection from Dan, that fat fuck. Mr. Hair had called the fat man so that they could address the streets to inform the people of a new direction for LA.
"Good people of our community." he began.
"It has been too long since Los Angeles had a mafia presence within it and so after giving it some serious thought we have decided to replicate the Detroit City values and adopt the systems they have in place over there. In my hands I hold a plan for Los Angeles, it is a clear layout of what we expect and should you have any questions, feel free to approach myself or the fat man here." MonsterHair gestured to his right hand man.

Well Mr. Severe (or Ms. - just in case) you are right that the idea doesn’t seem very original, but why change a successful formula? Just because Henry Ford used round wheels on his vehicles it doesn’t mean the next car producer should attempt with triangles or something else just because someone claimed circular shapes already. |

Villain happens to be passing by and decides to listen what Godfather MonsterHair is saying untill the end. After finishing his speech Villain stands up and starts saying: This seems like a very well thought and nice opportunity to everyone who wants to give Los Angeles a try. We need that city filled up and i wish luck to whoever will be going after the bold suit but i have a question. I know that this was explained and made really clear:
But taking in consideration that Detroit has alike rules, will the two cities be allowed to interact with each other as one big open city where one Detroit crew can form an alliance with one LA or one LA crew can decide to shoot down a crew from Detroit? That is all i wanted to ask! Villain than steps down and waits to get an answer to his question, |

I hope you don't mind my question Mr. MonsterHair . But what makes you call the Detroit formula a success? As of this moment there is only one family in there. If one was to debate about this, they'd hardly call that a successful formula. Maybe if the city of Detroit had a family in each district. Not to mention, I've heard rumors that before my time, the great Disorder himself interfered with the city of Detroit and moved one of the families into poor old Los Angeles just to allow them to be killed by yourself a short time later. Are you going to do the same thing? |

SteamPunkMax, How was Detroit a successful formula? There has been more death than success and as of now there is only one person remaining, sure Disorder got his money and likely doesn't care beyond the fact that due to all the death it has probably scared anyone off going to Detroit so I guess it could go either way for rather it upsets him or not. For MonsterHair to come out here and say basically the exact same thing Disorder said is not creative by any means and makes one wonder if this was the case why not just have Disorder take LA and say his competition continues into LA to breed new faces who may be afraid to enter Detroit? I am just a lowly Gangster nor do I intend to rise the ranks so it really does not concern me, but from an outside view this looks pretty poor and can bring quite a few questions about this entire thing but alas not my problem really, for those who intend to enter, look at what happened with Detroit and choose very carefully. |

Another stroll down the streets, and sure enough, Kid fell on some complainers. To be fair, what would the streets be without them? A lot of fun and giggles would disappear. "BumbleBee, I find it quite funny that you speak of bringing something new to the table, after Godfather Disorder recently spoke of his leader competition. Something new and unseen around these shores. I suggest you go visit it, if you are looking for something innovative and new." "Now to you again, and Severe as well, does Detroit really look like a failure from the outside? We might only have one family settled there, but we still are the #1 city on the VIP forum rankings. Does that look bad to you? Now the move Disorder made to move the crew to LA might be debatable, but does it really bring failure on Detroit? The crews that got moved did indeed kill almost half of the city, they deserved it. And the city got killed because of greed. People wanted power, like in this world of ours. Simply they had the power to overthrow the city and take it over. I fail to see why Detroit isn't a success...." |

The_Kid, I appreciate your response sir. However, I think you misunderstood me when I was speaking of bringing something new to the table. I was directing that personally at MonsterHair due to this 'project city' seeming to be a exact copy of the one Mr. Disorder created earlier. It just doesn't seem like many people are really interested in the whole pay to be a CL thing. Which brings me to your asking how Detroit looks like a failure from the outside. I'm not quite sure what rankings you speak of? However let me explain about Detroit's project being a failure, or at least from my perspective and from what I have heard. While yes your one family is doing well in Detroit, that's basically it... there's no more traffic there, so it's almost as if the city itself is clinging to life by a single thread. Is this considered a success or could this be considered a failure due to poor population. It's almost the same as if saying "Look the majority of the forest burnt down but there is this single tree that survived, so we saved the forest." Do you still consider the entire city a success or just the single family? In my point of view, only the family itself is a success, not the whole project city. |

"Yeah, I'm not questioning Detroit's success or failure, I just wanted to try and clear that up. Not to take anything away from it."
"But then again, what points are we talking about?!" Dub laughs nervously as he realizes he's in the streets speaking of some foreign concept as judging glances pile on him from passing onlookers. "Detroit's population represents their city very well and, when the occasion of them speaking occurs, they handle themselves very respectably. However, I've never generally judged the success of a family based on their representation in the streets. But that's just me. There are many different factors and everyone has an opinion. Don Richard has done very, very well and he knows I respect him, and I'd hope the feeling is mutual. And I wish all those in Detroit and those soon to be in Los Angeles the best of luck!
Dub coughs to himself quietly as onlookers continue to stare at him like he was crazy. "Man," he thought to himself, "What a lapse in consciousness..." |

Swear starts to run down Kid's as Dub mentions points. "I got no idea! That's kinda weird..." he added, wondering what the origin of those points where. "Now I totally understand you weren't trying to question anything, I truly appreciate your comment as it has helped understand a little more. But you do say street presence isn't a way to judge a family, and I tend to agree partially with that. I personally judge the success of a family from the influence they have and the mark they leave, and street presence is one way among many others to leave a mark. But I do have to agree with you and @BumbeBee that many factors way into that opinion; and that it is unique for everyone." That being said, Kid shakes the man's hand and wishes him luck in the future. |

I see how it looks like a unsuccessful venture at the moment. However, take into account the city was actually bustling with leaders and crews not long ago. It was so dynamic, we didn't know what was going to happen or who would be the new leadership. In a world where systems are set in stone and a hierarchy that rarely changes, it was a nice swoop of fresh air if you ask me. Initially as with most experiment cities, I was a little hesitant to see how things would go. However the city of Detroit gave us all some dynamic events when the rest of the country may have been more status quo per say. Now to address your point of the one crew still there and that one crew that was sent to LA. Two things here. I for one cannot speak for the Godfather's here, but can merely state my opinion. With how things went with that crew; in Detroit, that was sent to LA. Seems like there was more to that move than just a simple promotion. Our world is just as mush built with might as it is built with politics. Godfather Disorder had stated clearly that none outside the city of Detroit could intervene in the city. I would call that an Iron clad law coming from the Chairman. Now even though the city belonged to LV; Gf Disorder could have given my boss MonsterHair the ability to go all monstrous on this crew in Det. But to make sure all the laws were respected, a promotion was offered, a offer that was accepted that lead to them seceding all the benefits that came with being in Detroit. So don't blame the Godfather's if they worked the system in a way where the laws were respected. Now the end result is what most have a the problem with. Well to that I say this. From words of my Godfather, a top member in that crew was talking crap about my boss, for the lack of a better word. I don't know about you guys. But talking crap about an authority figure rarely goes unpunished in our world. In any world! So in short, yes, that crew was shot down for talking crap…but to make sure that it was all legit. A little patience and some choices, and you saw the end result. This isn't the first time a CL has found themselves victims of certain choices. Every choice you make here has far reaching consequences, if your leader cant see that far, don't blame the Godfather's. Blame the leadership that couldn't clearly see the downsides vs the promos. Secondly, the question of the singular crew that stands. See when this all started we saw mostly younger guys throwing their hats into this competition. As the competition made further inroads, we saw more seasoned personalities throwing their hats in the mix as well. Namely a CL we lost this past week TonyCosta. Tony had made his bones across the country before he decided to enter Detroit. At the time he entered, I want to say he was the most seasoned mobster of them all, even if his crew wasn't quite established yet. What he did after is well all public. If you entered Detroit, you had to pay the Costa tax. A tax collected with lead and blood. Again, nothing wrong here. He was within his means to do this. Similarly Divina the CL that was awarded LA, was very good at this too as well. Only she started from a less seasoned situation. So for her to do what Costa did makes it even more impressive. Now all that is fun and well, you conquer a city and choose to hold it hostage until otherwise, cool. Your city, your competition, your call. Here is my problem with this system. Most takedowns, wars, moves are usually thought through and reasoned out. Sometimes the reasons are simple power plays, at times there are reasons that go deeper. My father's diaries speak highly of men and women that would come out to the streets and explain their reasons for these such maneuvers. The mightiest of Godfathers have come out here; not because they had to, but they choose to, and gave us their reasons. Still happens today. But with how the system was setup in Detroit, my thing was people would get authed, and hours later they would be dead. With no words of wisdom stated at all about why the move had been made. Ok, ill say it was a power move. Sure. But lets hear it. If the almighty Godfathers have the decency to walk out here and talk about maneuvers, why do these CL's in Detroit not follow suit? I would like to hear a rising CL to show us his or her colors and passion for LA Cosa Nostra. This gives us an in depth look into the mind of the madness. And it makes this competition a little bit more spicier. If there were reasons given, the consequences would perhaps be different. Ill give an example. When Divina wiped out half of Detroit piece by piece, and this included one of the older established CL's in Detroit, forgetting his name, macho man type one. He died no one gave a fuck! Excuse my french. Cause no one knew him, no one cared for him. And honestly he made it his business to seclude himself from the rest of us. So when he died, the critters didnt loose sleep over it. Then there was that other lady that shot down someone; because their member had shot a CA and such. And they made that the reason for the takedown. Now even though Godfather Disorder later shot that CL down. Atleast that CL came out and gave us a reason for the move. Now she tried her own set of coercion; by making it look like they were the Godfather's orders to an extent…again consequences. The death of TonyCosta this past weekend could have been a consequence too. Now I'm not the warden so I dont know who shot Mr.Murder Inc. But I will bet you my bottom dollar it had something to do with him cleaning out the rest of the CL's and not allowing anyone else to co-inhabit the city with him. Again consequences. So all I am trying to say is this. I understand these competitions are setup as a ring of sorts. A ring of fire, lead and blood. But having these CL's to actually come forth and provide reasons for their actions will not only make it easier for us to see how they function. But it also forces them to be LEADERS. Whats a leader if he doest speak at all? And just does everything behind the shade? Your not a leader at that point, your plain and simply just a opportunist. Someone that shows up when the opportunity is ripe and then falls into the shadows when the limelight is the brightest. Say all you want to say about being a quiet leader. But look around you and read some old La Cosa Nostra histories. Great Godfathers were never afraid to speak publicly, no matter the blow backs. Men around them might have been quiet. But the leaders are usually the more vocal ones, because its their job and responsibility to lead.
Fantastic question, that would make things a little bit more interesting. As it is, Detroit can make alliances yes, but they cant use those alliances in times of war or policy. Allowing an open door policy between two systems/cities like these would open a whole new era of possibilities. It should also make things a little bit more level for the crews entering as well. Since they can work politically and diplomatically; with other crews rather than just relying on pure brute force and strength. |

The_Kid, Detroit being top of the speaking list does not mean it is a success, it more so goes to show others do not really care much about it, please do not mistake speaking with success as many good speakers have fallen and nobody remembers them. I am sure that will be the same for you with that belief you have. |

Severe, they might not be remembered by people like you. But active speakers will always remember their fellow friends. I often include bits of old friends of mine who stop playing, to try and reignite their legacy. Now please, stop complaining and make comments that can lead to an intelligent debate, like your friend Bumble. |

RichardDallas worked alongside Tony for 95% of the time. At the time he entered, I want to say he was the most seasoned mobster of them all, even if his crew wasn't quite established yet. ^ Just want to nit pick this too; his crew was established to what he wanted. We had a few new players there he wanted to be able to give his full attention to while the rest built there guns, after all it was a crew for shooters. His idea, or at least how it sounded to me, was to have a small crew of hitters to protect the crews that would set up around him, such as RichardDallas and the two others that were to set up. It wasn't ever to hit 20, he wanted his organization small as if he had a 10 man crew but wanted the benefits of being Insanely Well protected by bodyguards while also allowing his members the ability too. |

The_Kid, Bumble is not my friends as I have no idea who they are so your intelligence is through the roof on that one. You will always be remembered by fellow friends, that is why they are called friends or does your new generation of breed have a different meaning of friend? I truly hope Detroit is not in your hands in terms of decision making as if it is God help them. You also keep talking about complaining? What am I complaining about? I do nothing but watch why do I care what they do with Los Angeles? I added in my opinion that MonsterHair could have done something original with it if you feel following Disorder's failed experiment beyond receiving the money anyway is a good thing then by all means. Now please be somewhat intelligent in your responses because right now all I see is another future dead crew with a dumb ass as their Right Hand. |

Severe, why are you getting so defensive? You are proving me right, calling others insults like a dumb ass isn't a very smart and intelligent way to discuss, wouldn't you agree? Also yes you are right, friends will remember you. However, you are completely wrong on the fact that street presence isn't something that makes a crew successful. What makes a crew successful? Their impact, their influence, the mark they leave. Street presence is a very good way to leave your mark, and be remembered. I have people who know me from my previous bloodlines, only from the speeches I have made in the streets. Also, cut being a smart ass. Your first commentary on Don MonsterHair's post wasn't a simple remark. If it was a simple remark it would've looked like this : Dear Don MonsterHair, these are the same rules as Detroit. I think the community is looking for something different, and I have a couple of suggestions of my own if you could accord me the time to explain. Something along these lines. Now please stop being salty |

As most of you have pointed out, yes Los Angeles will be going ahead and running as Detroit does. "Why?" Some of you ask. Well it's quite simple really. I'm not sure whether many people observed when this idea first cropped up, Detroit grew quite quickly and being part of Disorder's inner circle at that time I can tell you that it was quite a profitable venture. Eventually we did see several wars and things seemed to slow down a bit but the potential is still there and the same can be said for Los Angeles. Setting up in these cities is seen as a good investment as - 1 You make the powerful people within this place more money, which is never a bad thing and - 2 You are free to be governed by your own internal rules and morals. So if you could find some like minded characters you have the beginnings of a solid city forming. I should remind everyone that Vegas once started in a similar sort of way minus the tributes of course, but it was independently ran by the crews within it and now look at it. Vegas is the strongest city within this thing. To summarise then on why this is happening... It allows the big fish to continue making money and it allows those who would like to experience being a crew leader to do so without having to impress anyone in particular before hand. A win win, you might say. |
