Hi there Started by: DanGleeballs on Jun 29, '17 22:43

Ok to clear somethings up from my perspective.

Firstly, as I clearly stated in the mass mail I sent out about the various New York auths. I was happy to award them all auth on the basis of the competition alone. I fully expected them all to have made their peace with their respective crews, districts and city heads before they made their move. I also stated that I had not made a big issue out of this in public as I expected everyone involved to act like a grown-up and demonstrate some basic common sense. If people were shot by their parent cities, I will simply stand back and respect the governing city's wishes. Them winning a space from a competition has no bearing on the wishes of their governing leaders.

Secondly, the issues of disrespect here are getting way out of hand. As with anything, through all generations, a person can say almost anything so long as they say it in a way that doesn't cause offense. Wayatt chose to speak in a way that caused offense to Dan and he was killed for it. There seems some discussion over the varying grades of disrespect shown and relative values of such. Let me clear up any misunderstanding here on that right now. Disrespect is tolerated to the level that your own standing can get away with it. Simple.

I'm pretty sure Dan could say all kinds of terrible things to me and I would barely bat an eyelid. While someone else I didn't know would certainly die for it. Its all relative to the individuals involved. What Wayatt did annoyed Dan enough to the point that he shot him for it. End of story.

For what its worth, if Wayatt had made the kind of spineless veiled snips at me that he did at Dan, I'd have probably ordered him dead too. The thing I personally found offensive was Wayatt's son trying to claim he said/did nothing offensive at all. That just insults the intelligence of everyone involved. But please, can everyone stop being needlessly confused and throwing their underwear around? Disrespect isn't hard to understand. And acting like your definition of it is different doesn't make it right.

You're right, I don't give a flying fuck what you think of me. You are utterly insignificant. As you were before you died and as you will be when you return.

Quality leadership right there folks.

Report Post Tip

Textbook.

Report Post Tip
It's also a way to encourage people not to return. Why would I want kin on these shores when they are considered so insignificant and useless? I do hope the gods are seeing this and understanding why their world is suffering.
Report Post Tip

Far be it for me to take sides but I get the feeling that some people seem to forget what we are all a part of and/or what respect in the mob actually means.

I think if you remove the emotion from this scenario and look at it logically there isnt really any argument to be had.

A high ranking member of a powerful mafia family makes a decision to kill some folk, another low ranking member of another family has the audacity and disrespect to call them out and question their motives in a public space (and i dont even need to get into the backhanded jabs thrown) and winds up dead for it.

The nail that stands out gets hammered, simple..

Wtf said:- Everyone should be aware that speaking your mind in the streets, asking questions, challenging authority - that *that could potentially* lead to your death under this regime

Other than a very slight edit by myself this pretty much sums it up.

Also there seems to be a lot of emphasis being put on this whole "this is the way its been done for years blah blah"

So?

It might or might not work out in the end but the world would be a very boring place if there weren't those in it trying to do things differently

Report Post Tip

Besides the large amounts of OOCities in what you've shared, the context hardly makes a difference. I continue to disagree that my father did anything disrespectful, I continue to see people who said far more blatantly disrespectful things walking the streets and I continue to see you discouraging people from speaking their minds.

You are the leader of this world right now sir. You auth'd the monster into Chicago and anyone who thinks he operates freely and independently from you is an idiot. You don't want to get dragged into shit? Retire. You don't get to the top and then get upset when you have to deal with shit you don't want to deal with.

Report Post Tip

Disrespect is a funny one.

Blatant, insultin' and ridiculin' someone deserves a message to be sent. I doubt the young man would have made the comments he did in the knowledge it would get him killed.

However when you're challenging a decision like this, whipping out your gun and placing one between their eyes because they are speaking sense doesn't seem to achieve anything. In this world people are fearful of someone who has the experience, time and skill under their belt ta' put a bullet in the highest of ranks.

What we're proving here by the death of Wyatt is that there is that the same fear for a Wise Guy who believes he speaks sense, truth and is not afraid to do so in public. And you can't silence that, you can't take away that fear by shooting it, it's not a man with a gun that can kill you, it's an opinion. An opinion which lives on from father to son, mother to daughter. If you're so afraid of an opinion that you have to shoot it, perhaps we need to take the time to understand how to change that opinion, because it doesn't really die.

As for the comments the man 'made' which resulted in his apparent death, in the context of our world, he didn't actually say anything. It seems people are attempting to read into his inner monologue.

Aww, bless.

Ok I've done my bit for fairness here. I'm not going to dignify any more of your bitter blindness to the truth, with any more responses. I'm afraid now you'll just have to face up to reality on your own. Good luck.

Report Post Tip

There is no bitterness here. It's such an easy way for you people to write off someone when you do dumb shit. "They're salty, they're bitter, blah blah blah." What truth or reality is there to see? That someone magically read into the thoughts of my father and shot them for it? You can define disrespect however you wish, that's one of the perks of being at the top. But don't be surprised when the community sees differently from you. And there are many people who see it differently, most are just too afraid to speak up, especially after this incident. The anonymous tips and not so anonymous mails and donations I've received make it clear how many people feel just how horrible this situation really is.

Report Post Tip

wtf - what are you hoping to acheive here? Are you thinking that if you say the same thing over and over and over that Disorder will suddently change his views on the matter? Because its very clear that isn't going to happen. Are you hoping that loads of others will hear what your talking about and step in and agree? Because I can tell you, that isn't likely to happen either. Not because people are afraid of Disorder, or Dan. But because despite some of the points being correct, the manner in which they were raised was indeed disrespectful.

Your late relative may not have cared for his life and perhaps thats why he was speaking so freely and disrespectfully to someone in such a high position, but for the next of kin to claim he didnt deserve to die is then just making your entire argumented invalid. You can't expect someone to take your points seriously if you can't even admit there was fault in your fathers end too.

That said, I hazard much of what has been said, especially the re-telling of letters, to disappear fairly soon.

Report Post Tip

I'm not hoping to accomplish anything. But I will say that loads of people are hearing what I have to say and are agreeing. You should see my mailbox, it's quite a popular place today.

Report Post Tip

How nice for you.

Is it not normally, then?

Report Post Tip

TheDonBot shook his head and sighed. It was so status quo to shake off the "ramblings of kin" that the jig was getting ridiculously old for him.

Disorder, I must agree that the issues of disrespect here are getting quite out of hand. It was quite...risky, shall we say, for Wyatt to raise the questions and points that he had in the way that he did. However if his actions were taken disrespectfully, that sets a level of what can be taken as disrespect, surely?

And if that's the case, there are plenty of clear cut examples of disrespect in this conversation alone, yet I don't believe I've seen anyone else murdered simply because of their words here...

Are we not men of business?

Senseless death and the driving of bloodlines away from this thing of ours is not healthy for anybody, including those at the top. Would it have not been more reasonable for Dan to demand the demotion of Wyatt, or fined him an exorbitant amount?

That loops back into what you said though, I suppose...

'Disrespect is tolerable to the level that your own standing can get away with it.'

Shame that the general mindset is bullets before brains, because ultimately there won't be anybody left to use those bullets on.

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip

So much melodramatic bullshit here. Poor form.

People always have and will still continue to be able to discuss things in a way that isn't thinly disguised pisstaking. There are no precedents set or lines being drawn in the sand by anything that has happened today. Things will still be taken on a case by case basis and if you're deemed to have done something that isn't palatable to someone more powerful than you, you will feel whatever consequence they deem appropriate and they themselves are capable of enforcing.

Report Post Tip

But once again, the guy who outright called him a Fuckboy is still alive and kicking. That makes complete sense.

Report Post Tip

Can't kill a guy for calling shit how it is.

Report Post Tip

But yet that's exactly what Wyatt did and he's dead so....that makes zero sense.

Report Post Tip

Nobody is disputing that, Larry. In fact I believe that's almost exactly the same thing Disorder just said himself if you were listening. The 'enforcing' in all reality unless it's something critical, generally is supposed to be handed down from that person's CL. Granted this isn't always the case, but as I said for extremely petty things like this, you cannot deny there were better options than murder.

As I brought up before, we are men of business and not men of complete mayhem, correct? You say that there are no precedents or lines being drawn by any of this? I am sorry that you can not see what these actions are doing to this thing of ours on a whole. There are definitive lines being drawn in the sand you speak of when the masses are forced to bite their tongue, to leave our shores, and when the only "punishment" for the slightest bit of "disrespect" is death - not even by the hand of ones own CrewLeader.

Report Post Tip

Wyatt was trying to be clever and didn't do it well enough.

If Wyatt had been smarter in his approach he would still be alive.

Report Post Tip

So the smarter approach, in your opinion, is to belligerently call someone of status a "fuckboy"?
