Looks like some people are trying to make themselves gods by taking the choice of punishment from one's CL...
As many people have commented before, it should be the CL's decision on how one is punished.. not the hand from another city. One can even so as far as to flip this around and say that the so called "DanGleeBalls" was showing utter disrespect by shooting a member of family from another city.
I have to take the side of TheDonBot here, for his responses have been well thought out.. while the opposing team's argument is... well. Quite sad and lacking of anything. There is nothing to back up their words as they are as see-through as a clean pane of glass.
If you can't carry out the same punishment for everyone who is disrespectful, maybe you shouldn't be in a position of power? |

The smarter approach would be to not do stupid things at all. |

Kinoko had just arrived home in Philadelphia from visiting family in the old country. Upon his arrival, he was quickly phoned from Marijuana to stop by the streets on a certain matter at hand. His brother filled him in on what had occurred.
"I just have to say, I am truly disappointed to see a few family members get involved with something that truly has nothing to do with them period. Chicago made a decision to take out someone, which truly is their decision. This person was Monique, may she rest in peace and the rest of the few that fell." He took a second to breathe, then continued on.
"I am friends with her linage, she is a pleasant woman and good friend that I have encountered over the years and she knows it. Was I sad to see her in the obits? Of course I was, but coming out here being disrespectful and challenging some of the higher members of Chicago and Las Vegas for such actions that took place, Me and Saitama will not tolerate. Was Philadelphia not built from Chicago? I think we need to show little respect."
"I agree each situation is a basis on basis thing, this is true. Chicago took the action they did, it was an internal decision. Not our place point blank regardless of feeling. Of course everyone is up for debating, but this has gotten out of hand and disrespectful, is this what is called a respectable debate? If so, I don't dig it nor condone it. Also, when did any removal speech that was presented to the masses even need a damn debate to begin with?"
"It's now in the past, what is done is simply done. I wish the best for Monique's kin. Everyone can express feelings and address opinions, but there is ways of doing it. Chicago didn't even have to come out and tell anyone what transpired in Northside, but they did. Continuing on about this will not take anyone anywhere, it never does.. Has it ever?" |

I'm glad there's a piece of shit ranked so highly in Chicago, it means the city has a much shorter shelf life. |

Ullk was having his drunk moments in the streets of New York. And then he used to travel a lot. It was an old habit. He heard some people argue and complain, he heard some good and bad language. He saw some action. And then some reaction. Many times. Only thing he had as a conclusion: Standards are gettin' down. We tolerate too much shit around being told. We react too much when there is no need to. Being stuck in hate and past brings us nowhere. He thought out in his deepest self: Fuck you mofos, you tell so much shit, you do so little. Sometimes you don't need a word to be understood, sometimes you don't have to point a finger to show who a thing/target or not. What you do in a lifetime becomes a story of robotic killings with no purpose, no life. Saying each other you a dick in more or less polite ways won't bring you anywhere. |

Outkast had been in his usual spot, leaning against his lamp post, taking a break from the daily grind and listening to the discussion about Chicago, as well as the theories of disrespect. As each person spoke, he became more and more bewildered. Nobody fuckin gets it...he muttered to himself. He understood where each side was coming from, but what he didn't understand, was why not one of these people understood the underlying issue...so he made his way over to speak his mind.
I think a lot of you are missing the point. In order to be disrespected, you first have to be respected. It's obvious that Wyatt had very little respect for DanGleeBalls. If he never respected the man in the first place, it is impossible for him to disrespect him. The simple fact of Dan being a RHM commands no respect from anyone outside of Chicago, aside from folks that know him. If I was Lillith's RHM, would any of you outside of LV respect me? Fuck no. Very few of you have any idea who I am, or who my lineage was. You respect the position, not necessarily the person *in* the position.
In order to gain respect, one must first show respect. It's pretty obvious there wasn't an ounce of respect between the two men. Dan shot Wyatt because he could. Period. He was annoyed. To annoy a man with the power to kill you isn't a smart move. But don't throw respect into it. Why should anyone outside of Chicago respect anyone in Chicago? Same for any other city in this thing of ours. You respect the position of power, not the person.
I'm not going to get into what was right or wrong, because, honestly, my opinion means shit to anyone but me. The folks with the power to shape our world decide what is right and what is wrong, and in this thing of ours, right and wrong are constantly changing. What is right to me may be wrong to someone else, vice versa. My ancestors wrote of people coming to these streets and voicing their opinion on different subjects, and I do not recall an account of anyone dying for it. That was then. This is now. It's common sense, to me anyway, that you don't bring personal shit to the street. There will always be different opinions, but when you come out to the streets and start making things personal, well, you might sleep in your bed that night, or you might sleep with the fish.
I believe in this society, at this given moment, people are assuming because they are powerful, they must be respected, and they deserve this respect just because they are in power. I'm afraid if that's the view, there is going to be vast bloodshed, and very little respect. |

Interestin' perspective, Outcast. So I understand you correctly, are ya' sayin' that we are supposed to feel obliged to respect the position a person is in, however the results would be better if we knew the person, recognised the person and therefore held respect for who they are? |

I don't feel we are *obligated* to do anything. I feel most of us respect the positions of Godfather and CL because it usually takes hard work, dedication, and respect from your peers to obtain these positions. RHM on the other hand, can be tricky. While this position requires respect from whomever places you in this position, it does not, unfortunately, equate to hard work and dedication.
Now, I'm not saying one did not work hard to attain this position, but more often than not, someone has this role because of who they know or their lineage. Saying this, of course these folks are respected by their peers as well, and very well could mean they worked their asses off for it, but it doesn't necessarily command respect from those outside of their circle.
Personally, to gain my respect, one must show me they are worthy of it. I don't have to know you to respect you, but yes, personal contact definitely helps in this regard. |

Outkast, the level of respect you have for me doesn't concern me, it's the amount of respect you show me that does. If I feel someone is disrespec'ing me, then I'll put a bullet in their head or ensure that one of our hitters do that job for me. You should show the appropriate respect to those in power and fortunately for me, I happen to be the right hand of one of the most powerful mobsters in all of mafiadom, so I get to swing a pretty big dick about and enjoy it. That's the perks of power. Sure, some of you may call out that it's an abuse and that I'm petty but I don't mind being the bad guy. We all have a role to play and I'm happy to take up that one. Behind the scenes, you may call me a cotton headed ninny muggins or something equally as unkind, but to my face you have to be as nice as pie or suffer any consequences that I feel should be imposed, this isn't to say if you want to come at me I'll kill you it's just to say that I'll do what's necessary if I feel you're taking the piss. You can challenge me on things, you can question my judgements, you can have a nice healthy debate, I welcome anyone to do so to be perfectly honest. I don't discourage people from coming out here and raising questions but just be mindful how you approach it. As Larry said, there's a lot of melodramatic shit going on within this discussion but I do expect that, as it's the one of two things that people feel will inflict the most pressure on regimes. The other being, "you're forcing people away" or something of that ilk. |

Mister DanGleeballs, when you say
don't you mean that not you, but the person you are working for is one of the most powerful mafiosi, hence MonsterHair can
Or am I mistaken here? I agree with Outkast on his way to see the different leadership positions. In my textbook the Right Hand man of a Crew Leader or Godfather is someone that is helping his leader. One to follow what their leader orders them to do. |

You're mistaken. I did say I am the right hand of one of the most powerful mobsters, by this I mean I have a lot of influence and power. The proof of this is shown in the actions that have occurred during the time that this discussion has gone on. Could you, a left hand man of a New York crew, order a Chicago mobster to die without there being repercussions? No, you couldn't. But it is something I could do and something that could be done with authority. This is because I am the right hand of the GodFather-Chairman of Chicago. Your perception of the Right Hand is fine, I do help my leader and I do follow what my leader orders me to do. However I also act in his absence and I'm entrusted to make decisions when I need to. |

Sir Dan, I have a dilemma here, did my LH disrespect you here publicly, or was it just a bad joke like we all pranksters can do at times, for this or that reason? He signed some rules, telling him not to disrespect anyone. So I guess he would be a man of words if I trust him enough to put him in a position of a hand, be it Right or Left, and didn't mean disrespect. Or it would mean my choices of trust were bad otherwise... What would you do in my position? Wack him or tell myself I do like pranks at times? |

"It seems the original topic has been lost and has evolved into one of the position of right hand man." "There is no right or wrong answer here as each leader decides the role and boundaries of those they place as second in command. Some allow them to run the family while the leaders efforts are more city or country based, some treat there right hand as a partner rather than subordinate." "As for the internal happenings of Chicago with the removal of a family, they are just that and as Godfather Chairman of Chicago Monsterhair can do whatever the fuck he likes." |

"Well what I said for the right hand could well apply to the left, as I say each leader is different on how they view and use the role."
"On a slightly more personal note, despite his name I bet DanGleeballs isn't as good a teabagger as Tetley." |

"I must say I enjoy the fact that this topic has gone from examples of disrespect that were punished, all the way through to the last section of discussion here being the opposite end of the spectrum. A perfect demonstration of how people of different standings and different cities can engage in contentious discussion with conflicting opinions and do it respectfully, with no sign of threat or concern to any party. I'm very happy to see it." Looking over at Keypunch he smirked. "Dan's balls may indeed be full of glee but no one can touch old Tetley's testicular antics. My father's journals will attest to that!" |
